About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jess_stl0 contributionsWonderful tour and guide! This tour was absolutely perfect. Our guide Élia was so knowledgeable, kind and entertaining. He knew the winemakers well and facilitated experiences at both smaller and larger wineries. Each visit was educational and included delicious tastings. He also showed us interesting sites along our way to each winery and recommended excellent lunch spots in Chinon. Highly recommend this tour and Elia as a guide!Written 25 October 2024
- andys2345670 contributionsA full dayOur male guide was great - prompt, friendly and amusing. His knowledge of the chateaux was pitched at the right level and kept it fun. The chateaux were fantastic and well worth visiting. I had my own car with me but was glad of someone else doing the driving (2.5 hours in total).Written 22 September 2024
- Q5544SUannem0 contributionsLoire Valley day tripJasmine and Ratri were engaging, entertaining, informative and pleasant The only issue was with the restaurant in Blois. They supposedly had goat cheese salad, but when we got there age waiter said they had no salads of any kind. He also was obviously trying to steer us to hamburgers, but we are Americans. We don't go to France for hamburgers. He would not let me order anything that I chose on the menu. My friend asked for the butternut squash soup NO bacon. He brought her one with tons of bacon in it. The risotto was to die for so lunch was saved. My recommendation is go prepared to eat a burger.Written 19 September 2024
- Roving332865362860 contributionsInteresting Day TourWe really enjoyed our tour and appreciated stopping for lunch in a charming village on the way. We recommend the full day tour as it allows for more independent exploring time. The guided historical context was informative and entertaining, but wished there had been more of it, hence the 3 stars.Written 4 September 2024
- R933BIwilliams0 contributionsAmazing Tour & Great Guide - Highly Recommend!Despite a delayed start to our tour due to rain, our guide Ilia was incredibly understanding of the circumstances and ensured my group made the most of our time. Both wineries were wonderful with great wine & very personal tasting experiences. The time to explore Chinon during lunch was also very much appreciated (made even better by great food recommendations from Ilia!). My group came away from this tour with a ton of new knowledge of wine and the region as a whole. Overall, this experience far surpassed my expectations & was one of the best days of our 10+ day Europe vacation. 10/10!Written 2 September 2024
- Jaymiddleton990 contributionsPerfect way to see the Loire Valley Wine RegionsIlia was the perfect tour guide, engaging, educational, charismatic, and fun! Our group of 6 are a bit newer to the wine scene and Ilia along with the employees of the two vineyards we visited went above and beyond to educate and entertain us. The star of the show besides Ilia was Truf the chateau cat at the second vineyard! We had a wonderful time and were shocked that the vineyards we visited were basically private to just us and we really got an in depth experience understanding the culture and the wine! I would recommend this tour to everyone I know!Written 31 August 2024
- 482faithb0 contributionsPerfect tour fabulous guideThis was an absolutely excellent tour that I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone interested in Loire Valley wine production. Our guide was Ilya, who is a wine expert and passionate about this area. Having already done a number of wine tours, I can say that Ilya was the best we've had, and that's saying a lot. We visited two vineyards, each distinctive, and had an in-depth explanation of each vineyards approach to viticulture. Extensive wine tasting in each place also. For lunch we were on our own in Chinon. Ilya introduced us to various places so we could choose what suited us, which was perfect. All around this was the perfect day.Written 30 August 2024
- FreeKap0 contributionsLovely day tripWe had a great experience on our tour. Our tour guide, Ilia, was so informative, great with our children (ages 10 and 12), and had wonderful recommendations.Written 2 August 2024
- 334alyssaa0 contributionsAmazing Winery and Chinon ExperienceAbsolutely fantastic tour. Very easy pickup right on time outside the Tours tourist center. Ilya was a fantastic host the entire time. We visited two lovely wineries and tasted more than a dozen wines (all absolutely delicious). Ilya went above and beyond, with great knowledge and entertaining tips. He gave several honest suggestions for lunch (which was free time in downtown Chinon). Highly recommend and would book a tour with Ilya again next time we are in the Loire Valley!Written 18 July 2024
- cfomac0 contributionsTwo great days in BordeauxSpent two days touring with Jerome from Ophorus Tours. First day we visited three wineries in Bordeaux. Second day we went to St Emilion and visited one winery It was a great two days. Jerome was a great driver/guide. Love that he used a headset microphone so everyone could hear his interesting narrativeWritten 16 May 2024
- A1352WIdonnab0 contributionsCheck The France Holiday Schedule FirstBoth are must see places when in the Loire Valley. My suggestion would be to check the French holiday calendar prior to booking. Eight thousand people visited on 10 May 2024. Eleven thousand on 9 May 2024. It was packed! Our tour allowed us to skip the extremely long entry lines. Well worth it! Very glad I went. If you go on your own: 1. Go early. 2. Bring a lunch. (There is a lovely, charming, riverside town between Chenonceau and Chambord. Perfect to pick up a lunch.). 3. Plan to spend the entire day.Written 11 May 2024
- Travelgenie2200 contributionsD-Day Tour: full dayThis was the most amazing tour! Our tour guide, Charles, was very knowledgeable about the history, tactics, and stories about the D Day landings. It was so incredibly interesting, memorable and I learned so much. Highly recommend this tour!Written 24 April 2024
- 1jrawls0 contributionsMust see Loire Valley chateauxWe took a full day private tour of these two famous chateaux. Both were lovely and our guide Remy, who also drove, was excellent. His background is in French history and he added lots of insights into both locations. We had lunch in the lovely town of Amboise. All in all a day very well spent.Written 1 March 2024
- 105chien0 contributionsVery nice guideA small tour with eight people in a van. The guide was a history major, knowledgeable, nice and, helpful.Written 3 November 2023
- Jacqueline P0 contributionsA beautiful Chateau in the Loire Valley!!We had a lovely tour of Chambord. Our guide was excellent - he gave us all the relevant information about Philippe 1 and his chateau. We especially liked the exhibit about the use of Chambord as a way station for the art of the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa.Written 1 September 2023
