About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- A4719ZAjanetk0 contributions10 Star ExperienceMy husband, best friend and I went to the champagne region for 4 days for a milestone birthday celebration. We were with Stephane for 3 full days and are now entirely spoiled in terms of travel. He was fabulous in every way and made this a trip of a lifetime We learned so much about the region, its history, the people, and of course champagne. Experiencing the region with the knowledge of an insider made this truly exceptional. Going to some of the big houses and also smaller grower/producers was more important than we would have known on our own. This was a 10 star experience and making a new friend was a gift and bonus. Thank you Stephane and let us know if you get to our area.Written 30 October 2024
- O678ERmarcelot0 contributionsGreat time with a fabulous guide! We have an amazing time with Stephane and Tours in Champagne. We were a complex group of 4, from different countries, different languages, different eating habits (including one vegetarian), one person in a wheelchair and another one who could just join the group for a part of the tour. Stephane managed to help us get the most of our time without needs to worry about logistics, tickets, restaurant bookings, parking or any other complication, leaving all our energy free to discover the places and taste the wines. Our goal was to know and learn about champagne, so we choose the 3-days Aroma Tour, and it was superb. We had the opportunity to go to the big houses with their art galleries and Disney-World-like stuff, but also to meet actual growers and small producers making very personal (and delicious) wines. In each of the 3 days we have learned new things without feeling that we are repeating programs. Stephane also helps us with booking a car between Orly and Reims and with restaurant recommendations in town. As an additional bit of luck, we were there just in the harvest time. Besides the natural beauty of the moment, we took advantage of Stephane’s huge knowledge of the region and network with people to visit winemakers and see the grapes been pressed and to try the first juice just fresh out of the press. If you are looking forward to visit Champagne and go beyond all very usual places, if you want to travel but don’t want to have to plan for every detail, of if you want to do something specific in the area and need assistance to make it happen, just call Stephane and he will help you with a kind smile in his face. We do strongly recommend Tours in Champagne and will sure call them once we plan another trip to Champagne. Cheers!Written 30 September 2024
- marcnat0 contributionsEnjoyable.Unfortunately for us we arrived when the renovations were on the go. So we thought it was closed and missed some of the tour driving about trying to find where to park and who to speak to. The staff were very friendly. We missed the introduction and made the chalk cellar tour. Fascinating but not more than a few metres of tunnels to explore. I was hoping for more caves and tunnels. There is a nice light and sound show down there and then you head back to the lounge for a tasting. You get to choose white or rose - vintage and non vintage of your preference. I preferred other houses where you move through to experience all 4 rather than having to choose just 2. But I guess this is the way they do it. Enjoyable. I think my expectations for Ruinnart may have been a little high.Written 14 July 2024

- Vacation7288330 contributionsElegant & IntimateA beautiful, elegant and informative tour. While other tours offer more of a touristy (and busy) spectacle, I rank this one as my favorite because it was more intimate, authentic, and did I mention the elegant? The tour guide truly gave 5 star service and was so helpful even afterwards with getting us to our lunch reservation.Written 28 May 2024
- 245olegv0 contributionsInteresting tour to know the history of the oldest champagne brand in the world.Wonderful tour which will enhance your knowledge about the history of champagne. Ruinart started champagne business in September 1729, making them officially the oldest champagne house in the world. You will see the cellar, understand the business and after the tour you can taste this genios brand.Written 19 May 2024

- EdGee40 contributionsSome fabulous champagne! An excellent fun day! House of Moet started the day in style and that was followed by two other houses and tastings and a great lunch in between. Epernay is a very special place! Great day thanks to Stephane organizing the details and maintaining great communications. Yes…a great day!Written 2 October 2023
- Amy B0 contributionsA very worthy Champagne experienceWe had such a wonderful time with Stephane. The day was planned perfectly and he coordinated with us in advance to ensure the experience met our desire to visit local champagne producers. We were so lucky to visit during harvest and were able to see the producers in full action. Truly a unique and memorable experience. The lunch cooked by his wife was such a special touch, and visiting with them at their house really added to the day. Don’t hesitate to book with Stephane, you won’t regret it!Written 17 September 2023

- H2158NPjg0 contributionsGreat for familiesOur tour guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and showed us many great sites within the Champagne region! Biggest factor for going on a private tour was having a child. It allowed us to be able to see the champagne houses with ease while learning as much as possible. The family vineyards we visited were great!! I left the tour with a great appreciation for all the hard work that goes into each bottle of Champagne!Written 28 June 2023

The Veuve Clicquot tour and tasting was the BEST Ive ever been on. Our guide was very informative and interesting and the cellar was so beautiful to see!! The tasting was 5 star!!! Pommery was a beautiful experience as well! The special lunch at the local french restaurant was such a special experience and appreciate the chef offering a special menu for my dietary restrictions. The food was EXCELLENT!!! We appreciate Stephane and all his attention to detail and answering all my questions in advance and arranging all our tours. - F5570XZpatj0 contributionsStephane is an Amazing Guide!!!!Stephane (and Lisa) were absolutely amazing!!! This was our first trip to Champagne and we can't wait to return! Stephane was an amazing guide throughout our 2 day visit with him. Our only regret is that we didn't make it longer. He has a way of sharing his in depth knowledge of the area in an interesting and exciting way. Our visits to each of the vineyards were amazing, especially the smaller houses that he chose. His ongoing communication prior to our visit was outstanding while he was custom planning our tour. He patiently answered every question and was quick to welcome us to Reims once we arrived. Do not hesitate to schedule time with Stephane to see this amazing area! We miss you Stephane!Written 25 May 2023

OMG, where do I start? Probably with the fact that I am in the wine industry. As a result, I have a deeper understanding of the world of wine, have favorite producers, & since it was my first visit to the area I had some pretty strong opinions on what & where I wanted to go. But I also wanted the advice & convenience of a local expert. Basically I am a total pain in the butt American. Stephane & I traded a million messages as I contemplated booking the experience. He was SO patient with me, offered suggestions, & worked to ensure my dream trip to Champagne came true despite visiting during the holidays & the "off-season" when many houses would be closed. Our day with Stephane was magical & I absolutely cannot say enough positive things about him. His knowledge, humor, & hospitality are world-class. I learned SO much from him & his love for the region shines through everything he does. He created a custom itinerary that allowed my BF & I to experience Champagne on a whole other level & I will be forever grateful. Our only regret is that we didn't book a second day. We are already planning a trip back & can't wait to tour the region, this time leaving ALL the planning to Stephane. Do yourself a favor & don't visit the region without spending a day with Stephane!

This past August my wife and I had the wonderful experience traversing the wonders of the Champagne Region with the best imaginable host, Stephane. Many highlights to note but in particular was lunch in a vineyard with special Champenois treats put together by his lovely wife, Prycille; breakfast in an out-of-the-way park with more special treats; and lunch in a wonderful bistro in a small village accompanied by both Prycille and Stephane. We felt we were experiencing what a French person would be doing on a special day off. Our two days flew by. Stephane is encyclopedic about the magical wine called Champagne and its vineyards. I never stumped him with all of the questions I asked. Another special experience was meeting the producers and owners of small Champagne houses where the Champagne is virtually hand made. This was only made possible by Stephane's special inside knowledge and his personal connections. A fitting ending to our time with Stephane was visiting the church where Dom Perignon officiated. While our tour was only 2 days, the memories he created will last a lifetime.

We just enjoyed a fabulous day with Stephane visiting the champagne houses of Reims and Epernay. It was so lovely to have a personalised tour and not be part of a group, as it meant we were able to engage with Stephane so we got the most out of the experience - his knowledge of champagne, the houses & the region was amazing and we learnt so much. Everything was very well organised, we travelled in a comfortable, clean, modern car and lunch at a local restaurant in Epernay was also delightful. Thank you Stephane for a wonderful day - your tour far exceeded our expectations and made us fall even more in love with champagne!!!

Stephane was a great host to the Champagne region. He communicated well as we prepared for the trip. From the minute he picked us up outside our train car, he made the day special. Our highlights were breakfast in a vineyard with treats made by his wife and lunch with a champagne maker, both activities that Stephane suggested for the day. My only regret is not trusting him more on the locations. His picks were the best part of the visit.

Stephane - exceeded all expectations from start to finish - from knowledge & experience to a great sense of humour.
Our experience was tailored to meet our needs to see smaller producers - who are producing exceptional Champagne in traditional ways .
We loved every minute but of our experience & journey in Champagne. Stephane- was the reason we found new tastes & enjoyed it so much .
If you want a great time with a expert who can share & show you all things that just a standard tour can’t - then please turn to Stephane .
Thank you - our love of things Champagne- has gone to new levels .

Is there a way that I can give more than 5 stars?!?! This will be a long review, because I feel that it is helpful to be walked through the experience if you are interested in booking, especially if it is your first time.
If you are looking for a customizable, comfortable, and welcoming experience in Champagne, Stéphane is your guy! Champagne lovers and novices alike will be dazzled by his knowledge and passion for all things bubbly. Stéphane is well connected and respected in the Champagne community, which makes you feel like a VIP when you are his guest. He is uniquely able to take your tastes into consideration and find champagnes that suit your palette. Being a solo traveler, it was so comforting to have a tour guide that made you feel instantly like an old friend. I am not French-speaking, but there was no language barrier between us as his English is excellent. I am curious and very talkative by nature, and he answered every one of my questions intelligently, even expanding on the things that he sensed that I was interested in.
I had a long layover at CDG that was going to put me just outside of the normal tour timeframes listed on the website. I went out on a limb and messaged Stéphane. He eagerly accommodated my specific time frame and built an itinerary for the day that exceeded my expectations. I was picked up right at the TVG station in Champagne, where we rode in style, top down, in the convertible in order to take in all of the sights from Champagne to Reims. He made it possible to visit the Veuve House (my favorite), despite the fact that they were completely booked up online. We then did a tasting and complete tour at the Ruinart House exploring their famed chalk quarries. Along the way, I was able to pick some grapes right off of the vine passing by some of the smaller growers. My visit fell in the middle of their harvest so I got to see a convoy of satisfied workers celebrating a job well done as they finished their day. I got plenty of Instagram-able shots of the landscape in Champagne and finally some travel shots that weren’t selfies (the struggles of solo travel). As an added bonus, we finished the tour at Notre Dame in Reims, where he detailed the history of the structure and provided walking instructions to get back to the train station so that I could take it in at my leisure.
It was an all-around perfect day that wouldn’t have been possible without having a true professional like Stéphane as my guide. BOOK THIS TOUR! I cannot wait to return with friends and do it again. It’s the experience of a lifetime.
*COVID NOTE: Be sure to bring proof of Covid vaccination/health pass for entry to any of the houses, and a mask for the public touring portions. Aside from that, I experienced no additional restrictions*
