Perfect start to our Paris adventure
We did this tour our first evening in Paris. It was a perfect kickstart to our visit. Our guide, Fergus, was amazing- very knowledgeable, friendly and kept us all safe. The tour got us acclimated and excited!

    Warm host, fun tour
Andrea was not only a guide, he was a host. He thought of everything. He anticipated where the crowds might be larger and steered us around them. He took us to charming shops from Rue Cler over to Saint Germaine. Because of the preparation for the Olympics, we picnicked overlooking the Eiffel. He was warm and charming and fun.

    Super Fun Ride
Very fun ride! Andrea was knowledgeable, funny, and gave great instructions. We really enjoyed our ride. We stopped at a park and had crepes or another snack, and that was a great time to talk to the others on the tour.

Enjoyable experience to the Eiffel Tower
Our tour guide, Soto, was wonderful- making the experience so much better than if we did on our own. Not only his knowledge/ history that he shared but also how easily he navigated us through the crowds. Definitely worth the tour!!

You Never Forget How to Ride a Bike!
This was a really great excursion with an equally great tour guide in Harrison! Really got to see a lot of sights and since we took this tour early in our visit to Paris, it allowed for us to get the 'lay of the land' somewhat. The only critique would be to maybe limit the groups to (10)persons. We had (16)people in our group and that created a fair amount of separation at points in time on very busy streets. Harrison did a great job though to keep us together, the best way that he could. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    Eiffel Tower a must do.
Husband, granddaughter and I did the Eiffel tower tour to the top. Despite the lines being incredibly long and slow (much due to Taylor Swift concert) we had a very good tour.Vladimir did his best to keep us entertained while we waited. I noticed people around us listened in as he spoke. I use a cane and Vladimir suggested a sitting spot (i foolishly said no, I can make it) and did what he was able to shorten the line for us. We wound up having a private tour as fear of heights kicked in for one couple and another couple needed to leave to keep a dinner reservation. But Vladimir stayed with us seeing us to the top of the tower. Always an impressive view and a definite gotta do in your lifetime. So go and have an expensive glass of champagne. I recommend this tour and many thanks to a great guide Vladimir.

    Fantastic Bike Tour of Paris
We had a fantastic private bike tour with Amir. The tour is a great way to see the main sites of Paris and to have an orientation to the city. Amir was fantastic with our two kids and kept them engaged throughout the tour. Highly recommended!

Fun time at Versailles with my family
Great time with a great guide. Our guide Aron made the trip really fun. He was prompt to start, attentive to making sure the group stayed tight and got to the train and all points with ease Great tour of the entire palace grounds and inside. Our guide was also super knowledgeable and funny Highly recommended

    Versailles does not disappoint!!!
What an amazing day with our guide Michael!!! The bike tour was a fabulous way to cover the grounds at Versailles, plus you get to put together a picnic from the local market to eat on a stop on the grounds. The food and vendors were wonderful, so much to choose from and enjoy. The bikes had baskets for your food and drink, plus anything else you bring. The day includes train tickets, the bikes and access to all the stops along the way. Last stop if the day is at Versailles where you can take as much time as you want exploring the palace and grounds. The Hall of Mirrors just takes your breath awash. Wow what a day!!!

    Incredibly beautiful and historic.
Husband, granddaughter and I did a tour of Versailles and the gardens with Martine from Fat Tire Tours. It was an incredible place to visit especially with such a great guide. I have "mobility issues" and though I do my best to keep up, I wind up at the back of any group. Martine was very attuned to this and gave little breaks for me to catch up. When I opted out of part of the gardens, he was understanding and suggested a resting spot. Husband and granddaughter continued and said I missed some beautiful places. Martine was very informative, but made the plethora of history fun to listen to. He would make a great teacher. Tour ended at the Chateau which was a good idea as to try to keep a group, even a small one, would have made it less pleasant. His suggestions and instructions on returning were clear and helpful. Even granddaughter said Martine was impressive and very nice. I highly recommend this tour and Guide.

We have been in Paris for 10 days, did 6 tours of all types: from free tours to private paid tours, but this one was the worst of all. It was so bad. We feel like we completely wasted our day. It was our worst decision to book with this company for their Versailles bike tour.

Some specific comments:
- Met guide at 8:30 AM, no piece of history of the castle before 1 PM.
- Guide is not a registered guide, thus not allowed to give information around buildings, but also NOT knowledgeable at all. Very flaky on history, checks info on his phone the same way we could do it, off on dates and names…
- lots of irrelevant small talk and his personal views opinions and comment just criticizing monarchy… not like relating the “officials” scandals or critics. Give false facts: like he had no idea of the full background of "let them eat cake" comes from and just make up non accurate story. He also doesn’t do the tour with us. Let us go around alone and no guiding around the petit Trianon, village, all: just says “I’ve seen it many times; just go yourself I’ll wait for you”… but we don't care that he’s seen it many times. That’s what guides do: they do it many times and explain to the guests what they know… he stays under tree or at the entrance, we had to use the Versailles audio guide to learn stuff…

So, what did we actually pay for? Just bike and transport. We thought we were getting a TOUR… we felt we were just babysat all day rather than having a tour.

We would just recommend buying train tickets and renting a bike yourself. Use the app for the info, you’ll be much better off and at least get appropriate information rather than approximate history facts and a one guys’ personal opinion. Even when asking about history facts… he’s not giving much.

To avoid at all costs.

Very friendly guide...We went with 2 kids. Being real bikers or avid history buffs, unfortunately this tour does neither well. You are better off with an in-depth tour of Versailles itself indoors or renting your own bikes to do a real bike ride.

We had to meet at 8 am at a metro stop. Because the RER line was down to Versailles we then had to go to Montparnasse which is closer to where we were coming from. Because of the large size, we probably wasted about 30 minutes waiting for the group. Not a big deal per se until you realize the day is very long.

After taking the RER into Versailles, you walk to a bike shop. From there you get a bike and then bike to a market. At this point you are taking an hour to scramble for a lunch among lines, bathroom breaks and with two kids, this isn't really that fun. I would have grabbed something on the way and not waste an hour.

By noon, we still haven't biked or stepped into Versailles grounds. It was hot and kids are getting tired. We biked into the grounds to take a picnic. Lovely, but wish we had spent the morning in Versailles main palace when it was less crowded and less hot.

After the picnic, we went to Marie Antoinette's house and her farm. That was cute but it was already mid afternoon and hot. And we still haven't gone into the main palace.

We then bike BACK to the bike shop and then walk to the main palace. The bikes are somewhat used and have a few dents, and unfortunately mine hit a flat. The guide was great at repairing but again this stops the entire group of 20 while she fixes the flat. At this point the kids don't even want to go into the palace. There's a huge line out the palace and once inside, it is packed. The tour guide left us at the line, so this is all self service.

I unfortunately don't recommend this tour. The guide was friendly. But the planning and the order and depth of this tour just isn't good. If they had the guide inside in the morning actually explaining things in the main palace rather than biking and looking for food that would be a MUCH better use of time.

Our tour started in Paris at a small park near the Javel Train Station. We received detailed communications via email & text in advance confirming location, times & itinerary. The tour includes train tix to /from Versailles along with timed entry to Palace & Gardens. Our guide Nick clearly explained every step. In short, they make it as easy as possible to relax & enjoy the adventure.

Our group of 12 took 30 min train ride directly to Versailles. The bike shop is conveniently across the street. After getting everyone on bikes we rode through town stopping a few times to learn from Nick until we reached market area. From there Nick explained all our options & gave us 30 mins to purchase food & drinks for lunch we’d have in few hours.

While the bikes all have large front baskets it’s helpful to have a cloth bag to pack everything in, thicker the better if you plan to buy wine. Most of the ride is over hard-packed but uneven trails so whatever you pick up will get bounced around. We used a small recycled grocery bag which worked great.

Some folks opted for traditional French experiences & bought bread, cheese, meat etc to make their own picnic. We opted to buy premade ham & Brie sandwiches & deserts from the local bakery, plus chips & wine from the nearby Franprix grocery store. It’s all within 5 min walk. Easy, simple & all delicious. We then had more free time to walk around the market area.

From that point frwd it’s all touring the grounds & listening to history come alive through our entertaining guide Nick. A brief stop along the canal for lunch & eventually drop off at the Palace to tour on your own. Be sure to get a map. We spent an hour in the Palace & another 2 hours in the garden. There is a small cafe tucked away in the garden to grab drinks but it closes around 5PM.

The tour provides flexibility to choose which return train time to take back to Paris. They run until approx. 10:30P. We opted to stay in Versailles & enjoyed an amazing dinner at Vous, a neighborhood restaurant that opens 7PM & takes reservations (recommended), before walking 10 mins back to the station to catch the 9:45P. Great day - thank you Nick!

Just ok - very basic guided trip but not a tour. 7 hours of looking around the surrounding areas, an ok food market and Marie Antionette’s farm. Our tour guide was pleasant enough but we learnt very little about the history of Versailles just some anecdotes about Louis XIV. The bikes need some maintenance with loose handlebars and somewhat dodgy brakes - nothing dangerous, just uncomfortable. Once we got into the palace we realised that the free audioguide given is in fact an app you need to download in advance and take headphones. Again not terrible but we didn’t have any so had to pay €5 each for an actual audioguide. I had an ok day but would I recommend it? Sadly not - it’s just too long for not much reward.

Our day bike tour of Versailles was wonderful. Loved our trip to the market to buy lunch supplies and touring the grounds on bicycles is the way to go.

Our tour guide Chris was knowledgeable, helpful, and very easy going. One of our favorite parts of these tours is learning historical facts along the way - and Chris had many!

Even when got turned around in Paris and were delayed meeting up with the group, Fat Tire was very responsive to my messages, extremely accommodating and explained we’d just miss a portion of the self-exploration at the chateau. We were pleased to discover none of the bicycling portion was missed.

There were a few adolescents on our tour that did great, but I would not personally recommend it for children under ~9 or 10 unless they are confident bike riders.

The bike tour is a fun way to see Versailles, especially the grounds and Marie Antoinette’s English-style garden. Mia was a delightful and knowledgeable tour leader. She has a great sense of humor and shared insightful pieces of French history that makes me want to learn more about the remarkable period of King Louis IV. My husband and I preferred the scenic bicycling of the grounds and gardens to the crowded palace tour, which is included in the tour price. Overall, the bike tour was well organized, and Mia made it a lot of fun. I highly recommend this tour for those who would like to get a little exercise while also learning some fascinating French history of how Versailles came to be what it is today.

This was a long day that consisted mostly of bike riding. There was not a ton of information given on Versailles by our guide and we spent a good part of the day just riding around the grand canal which was nice, but not really what I went to Paris to do. Our guide kept riding ahead through the city and grounds and we had some slower bikers in our group that kept getting left behind, I felt bad for them. When we were done with the tour we were dropped at the palace to review on our own and we were so hot and tired and the palace was so overcrowded by that point of the day there wasn’t a lot of time for that. We didn’t see the formal gardens at all, or very much of the palace. The trip on the train and the metro was very hectic with a large group and they just leave you to get home on your own, we had been taking the metro for a few days so we were somewhat comfortable but there were others in our group that were very flustered by the experience and nervous about taking the train back. If you are taking this tour to see Versailles just know you won’t see much of it besides the grounds or learn much about it. If I am ever able to go back to Versailles I would just go on my own with an audio guide. I was very excited to do this tour and so disappointed at the end of the day.

Dave was an awesome tour guide! We were running a few minutes late and Fat Tire Tours didn’t want to leave without us so they called and emailed. I was able to let them know we were almost there. It was a rainy morning but not pouring so they were flexible with the schedule. So, we started off doing our own tour of the castle. After we decided to forgo the picnic since it was still raining but it was very light and we all still wanted to shop at the market. We loved riding around and the market was great! Bought a few delicious items (cheese, berries). Amazing Boulangerie just half a block from the market. We opted for lunch inside the cafe on the grounds and by the time lunch was over most of the rain stopped. Would have preferred picnic if the weather was better. We absolutely loved biking around the grounds even when it was drizzling. Hands down the best way to see all of Versailles. I had been many years ago and never saw all of the sights. The biking was super easy mostly flat. Dave gave us lots of interesting history and tidbits of info. Highly recommend!!!

Versailles is huge and this was a great way to see it. Biking through the gardens and a picnic lunch was a great way to spend a beautifully sunny day. Rory was an excellent guide, with loads of information presented in an engaging and memorable way. Both of my kids took information home from this tour, and that doesn't always happen! Rory was extremely well prepared and organized in coordinating our train to Versailles, giving us recommendations and directions in the market, setting us up for the picnic, coordinating our entries under new covid regulations, making sure we knew where to go, and even the high points of what we should definitely see on our own in the palace (knowing that spending time on every single thing is impossible). There is no way we could have coordinated a trip like this to Versailles on our own, and we would not have learned nearly as much. It was a very enjoyable day and one of the highlights of our trip to Paris.

The BEST way to see Versailles. Chris was a fantastic tour guide, stopped at multiple points to explain points of historical significance. He did a great job taking care of us and prepping us as to what to expect, from the train ride to Versailles, food market tips, and of course, the amazing history of Versailles. We brought our 7 and 10 year old kids and they loved the bike riding through city streets as well as the Versailles gardens, and this was the highlight of their time in France!
