It’s not very steep and yes their are handrails for the support . Going down wasn’t an issue but going up was a little hard but there were quite old people and they did very well going back up . It’s about 70 steps going up... More

I agree with the other answer, there were a few spots where the ceiling was low, but only tall people had to duck. the walkways are wide enough for two or more people to walk side by side. I would say there is no "squeezing" on this tour. Enjoy!
