- abeytal0 contributionsOutstandingWorth every cent, Gustavo was an outstanding guide. Guided tour was a masterclass in European history. Extremely personable. This tour was a highlight of my trip to Paris.Written 4 July 2024
- Mobile7003080 contributionsBook a Tour unless you plan to spend a whole day there figuring it out yourselfIt was great to have hotel pickup and dropoff for this, as travelling by Uber/Taxi with a family in Paris can be challenging. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and really knew how to get us through this amazing Palace in a few hours. The highlight was the time we spent in the gardens, which we would never have been able to navigate without a guide. He also could see that we were OVER the big crowds in the most visited rooms and took us to some lesser known parts of the Palace that were less crowded, and we were really able to enjoy the setting.Written 28 June 2023
- proflewis0 contributionsEssential Guide to Loire ValleyThanks to expert driver-guide Isobell (spelling?), our trip to the Loire Valley was our best day in Paris. She expertly told us the history and culture, and inside the 3 chateaus pointed out original vs. restoration, actual vs. replica, and medieval vs. Renaissance. You could easily spend a half day at each castle, so having a smart guide was vital to using our time efficiently. Highly recommended.Written 1 June 2022

- leslies6980 contributionsBest Versailles Tour GuideOur guide, Gustavo, made the tour for us. He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, personable and made the tour fun. He explained in detail every room we visited and The Hall of Mirrors. His guided tour through the gardens was very enjoyable. If you want a guide who knows his stuff, is easy going, and wants to make your tour the best possible experience you could have, I highly recommend booking Gustavo. He gave us everything we were looking for and more. Thank you Gustavo.Written 3 September 2021
- Trail256469784660 contributionsBeautiful and guite place just outside Paris located in NormandyWe did the tour with a guide. Both the house and the garden, located in Giverny, where the famous impressionist lived and died, is worth the visit. The whole place is as fun to explore as it's inspiring. But you've got to plan it well. Especially in July and August the gardens are wonderful…Written 27 August 2021

- 73Bucketlist0 contributionsDr.This trip was chosen primarily for an interest in a Medieval City and secondarily due to the employees' statewide strike. The bus ride was comfortable and tour guide while on the ride was informative. Arriving at our destination, the tour guide not only walked so very fast she RARELY had the group with her she was so far ahead of us. She would speak of a historic site while the group was not close to where she was. She was the worst tour guide. I don't recommend this tour with her as your guide.Written 11 December 2019
- AltheaTina0 contributionsVersailles Full Day Private Guided Tour with Hotel PickupWonderful! The guide could not have been better. He knew his stuff. I am a senior adult. He helped me in every way. From getting tickets, parking the car close by; evading the line, negotiating the stairs. We walked arm in arm like we were old friends. So very pleasurable. I would hire him again in an instant! KudosWritten 22 November 2019
- Leo M0 contributionsGreat tour with great guideWe had always wanted to visit Versailles and the opportunity to see it with our kids before they headed off to college made the trip essential. Having a very well informed guide to shepherd us around the lines and through the galleries made the experience that much more enjoyable. It also meant that we instead of fighting for food on the grounds we were taken into town to have a delicious lunch in a lovely French cafe in town. Then after lunch he took us back and showed us the other less crowded parts of Versailles - Trianon, the Queen's village, etc. And having a nice car pick us up at our hotel and then drop us off at the end of our day in Versailles was very, very pleasant and relaxing - no muss, no fuss. As for the price, for a family of four it was perfectly reasonable and the value was exceptional. I'm not sure I would choose this tour if I were just a couple (or solo).Written 22 October 2019
- Trude D0 contributionsAvoid the Group Tours! This tour was perfect! The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The tour manager let us know he might be a few minutes late, and he was -- exactly the 5 minutes predicted. The guide went ahead of us to secure our pre-paid tickets, so NO LINES! He made sure that our tour of the palace and the gardens accommodated the weather and our pace of walking through rooms or stopping to notice fine points of some of the paintings. He knew the history but not the "art appreciation" points that we noted, and he expressed interest in those "artsy" points, rather than being impatient to just get through each room (which we observed the group tour guides do). He suggested lunch at the reasonably priced brasserie just outside the Versailles gates rather than in the over-priced and *crowded* places on the palace grounds. Our all-day tickets got us right back onto the grounds after lunch. We learned, we laughed ... and we had a comfortable ride back to our Paris apartment afterward. HINT: Don't take photos inside Versailles or on the gardens. You can find excellent photos online. Spend your time EXPERIENCING being in rooms of that scale and luxuriousness, and learning how royalty conducted the business of the country at that time! Then you'll understand why the royalty "needed" the simpler Trianon buildings a kilometer away. "Working from home" wasn't for them, then, what it is for some of us now.Written 14 October 2019
- MFurbs0 contributionsDay trip London to Paris - Viator Eiffel Tour lunchThe initial draw of this Viator tour was to have lunch at the Eiffel Tower. The name of the tour never changed to reflect this would not happen and won’t be until 2020. The lunch cruise was not as good as one would hope for on a sightseeing tour. The 3- course meal was delicious! We cruised the Seine for two hours with absolutely no commentary on what we were seeing, if you blinked you missed seeing the burnt shell of Notre Dame. Traffic was horrible and most of the tour is stuck in traffic in some areas that there really is nothing of interest— just inner city stuff. The stop at the Louvre was about an hour and a half and those going in were warned that there wasn’t time to see the Mona Lisa—tour left a passenger who didn’t make the return time meeting. Tour agents were very nice.Written 29 September 2019
- LBA10740 contributionsGreat day tripDid this trip today with Fred. He was very insightful and provided the right level of information. Giverny was breathtaking. The restaurant was very good and a beautiful place. The time in Versailles may be a bit too short if you are looking to explore the garden in depth. Because it was not my first time, I was ok with the time allotted.Written 13 August 2019
- AZGTravels0 contributionsWonderful Tour of Versailles with KevinMy husband and I really enjoyed our tour in June 2019 with Kevin. Hotel pick up was prompt and he called the evening before to confirm. He was very knowledgable and pointed out landmarks on the drive over. His timing of the tour was perfect and enabled us to see several of the fountain shows in the gardens. It was great to be able to see the private apartments without having to fight a large crowd. Kevin did a great job moving us through the crowds in the main area of the palace and knew all the best spots for photos. Skipping the long lines to enter palace and the added bonus of the apartments is well worth the price of the tour!Written 17 June 2019

Had one of the greatest tours I have ever taken. Fred our guide was excellent. His ability to retell history in a story made the tour come alive. His knowledge of the events in France was amazing. I’m a history buff and know a lot but he knew names, dates, backstories, and characteristics of the kings, their queens and their families, it was unbelievable. My mom who walks with a cane was treated like a queen by him. He helped her find a chair while we were waiting for security. He got a wheelchair and made sure that she got front row views of everything as did we all. Not easy to do either with the large crowds. He moved his car several times to make sure she didn’t have to walk too far to the restaurants and the peripheral houses! I would give Fred a six out of five, an eleven out of ten and a recommendation: if you want the story of the chateau go with Fred! He is an excellent guide and made the place come alive. His picture on the right below.

Note this is a very heavy travel location!!! Inman they come by the bus loads!!! The line is about 1-1:30 hours!!! So the skip the line pass is a must!!! This tour focuses on the high lights!!! Cut through the crowds vis back doors and such! Very very efficient for time same and avoid the massive crowd! When the tour is done they leave you inside the rooms of mirrors, you can continue on your own or exit. Both options will send you through the crowded rooms!!! If you chose the garden it doesn’t take the whole afternoon to see it. Less than one hour to see why you need to see unless you are into seeing trees 🌲🤷🏾♂️. Driver Milon was super and very knowledgeable!!!

Kevin was a wonderful guide. He was very helpful with accommodations for my father who is unable to walk long distances. The day was full of incredible stories and the gardens were the best!

We did a private day trip to Versailles with the wonderful Gustavo. We found him incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. Having a pickup and drop off from our hotel was fantastic. We were able to skip most of the lines and although Versailles was incredibly busy, Gustavo was able to guide us through the palace, gardens and the two Trianons without any issues. Highly recommend.

Are we going to be able to visit the garden and the Queen’s Trianon on Saturday, because it is the day of the water and music garden which we were told is an extra price?

We are staying at an apartment near the Arc de Triomphe and we are English speakers. Can you pick us up at our apartment? I am assuming an English tour is possible. Would appreciate answers soonest. Thanks, Doug

Hi! In my group we have 2 adults, and 3 kids (age 7,8,and 1). We want to see Versailles, but with this crew we need something to do ourselves (private guided tour). Is this something you can do?
Thanks

I was just at Versailles w/ a group on a tour by ‘Paris Vision’-granted, a different tour. However, it was a great experience, & we walked right past all the lines to get in. Versailles is VERY crowded, and according to my phone, (which I didn’t even think about it keeping track) I walked 5 1/3 mlles that day. Versailles is huge, and I personally think it would be totally exhausting to go with 3 youngsters below the age of nine. You should quiz the trip people very closely to see what they say.
