What to expect
Meet your guide on the Île Saint-Louis in central Paris in the morning or afternoon (depending on option selected). Then, start your tour in typical French style with coffee and croissants in a local café. Afterward, head on to Notre Dame Cathedral with your guide and admire its striking Gothic façade before stepping inside to explore further. Widely considered among the most famous churches in the world, Notre Dame Cathedral was built during the reign of King Louis VII in the 12th century and it stands today as one of Paris’ most iconic medieval buildings. Admire the stained-glass windows and religious artifacts on display and learn the significance behind several of the surviving statues. Continue on to the Sainte Chapelle, a 13th-century church constructed by King Louis IX. During your visit, marvel at the spectacular stained-glass windows in the nave and listen as your guide details the stories they tell. Your visit after the Sainte Chapelle will proceed to the Conciergerie. This medieval building (which now houses the Paris law courts) is the oldest royal palace in Paris. It was the residence and seat of power of the French kings for centuries during the Middle Ages, then it was converted into a prison in the 15th century. You will see the impressive 14th century Hall of Men-at-arms where the banquets took place in the Middle Ages and the Guardroom with its gothic style vaults. Then you will tour the prison itself, with the Grooming room where the condemned prisoners were stripped from their personal belongings and you will see the different cells, including that of Marie-Antoinette, where she spent the last weeks of her life before being beheaded by guillotine.

Emilie was fantastic and the tour excellent!
Dec 2019
Knowing nothing about the Conciergie and Sainte Chapelle we went into the tour with no expectations. Wow! Did we learn a lot (we ask a ton of questions). Emilie was terrific - very knowledgeable and informative, explaining the way things were back in the days of Marie Antoinette. The day before we had a private tour of Versailles, so it made sense for us to see the Conciergerie the following day. Emilie took us through the site, pointing out areas/items of interest bringing it all to life. Next we went to Sainte Chapelle. The first floor holds a lot of history, but the second floor is breathtaking. A definite must see while in Paris. Emilie talked about the history of the site and the intrigue surrounding it's building and history. We actually spent so much time at the first two sites (our doing, not Emilie's) that we were able to just walk to the Latin Quarter and Emilie spent a while explaining it's history. Overall a wonderful tour!

Amazing tour with Emilie
My husband and I had a private tour with Emilie to Notre Dame Cathedral and St. Chappell Church. This was the 2nd time we had booked Emilie for tours and she was Brilliant! She took her time with us, we never felt rushed in either place. We learned so much and she was extremely knowledgeable in everything we asked her about even some historical questions that weren’t related to our tour but related to French history. This tour by far was the Best tour we took while in Paris. I highly recommend this tour with Emilie. The tour was so enjoyable and Emilie made you feel like we were taking a tour with a old friend we had known for many years. I suggest you take this tour with Emilie while in Paris you won’t regret it.

Notre Dame Cathedral, San Chapel
We had a private tour with a WONDERFUL GUIDE named Emilie!!! She was so knowledgeable, personable, and truly passionate about the art, Architecture & history of the Notre Dame Cathedral & the Chapel—it took 3 hours, with a 15-20 min coffee break, and it was just wonderful!
