Worth a stop but be mentally prepared
I was shopping for a few things for friends and family and decided to stop by. Inside, this is probably one of the most festive-looking department stores, comparable to GUM in Moscow or Liberty London. The glass dome is gorgeous and worth a detour, but I would not spend time/money to get on the little observation deck (tourist trap lvl 100) as you can see it perfectly well as is. Check the observation deck on top of the building, as you get an unobstructed view of Opera Garnier, the Eiffel Tower, and several other landmarks. I'd skip the food court entirely as there is nothing appealing there, and the coffee is meh. As for the shopping itself, it is a good place if you want to have access to IRL versions of some of the French brands that are mostly available online (A.P.C., IRO, etc.). Other than that, going to mono-brand stores for an in-person experience might be more pleasant (e.g., a lot of the same brands are present in the 3rd arr.) as here you get only a subset of collections (real estate is pretty limited) complete with immense crowds.

Architecture Meets Art, Design and Shopping!
Right behind Opera and once inside, it's all about the space under the dome. Cleverly, there's a glass floored walkway that extends out into the void on the third floor so my wife and friend booked a time slot to test their fear of heights. I was more sensible and sat at a table in the café to the side, watching with a café au lait. The shop is huge and covers several floors and an adjoining building, but I think you come for the glorious spectacle that is the glass dome. A must see

VAT Refund - Paris & Loyalty program is a sham
They slug you with their fees, landed-up you only get 11.3 %. If you are buying especially designer goods, go to the designer store like directly e.g. Dior/Chanel etc direct as you get 13 % back from VAT Refund. Not only that the male concierge there was rude and unhelpful ( 1st level). why bother signing up for loyalty program if you can't get $10 for $300 spend, just because you are taking the goods out of the EU countries to claim Vat Tax.. So if you are taking goods out of EU or you are regular tourists, you cannot benefit from the loyalty program when you spend big there. Full of rubbish! Never will buy things from there again. Instead if i see something nice, I will go to the said boutique & ask to transfer to the boutique. Will save a lot too.

So much fun! And our instructor was incredible!
My son loves macarons, so we thought it would be fun to learn how to make them. It was better than we expected. The instructor was wonderful. She was so informative and explained everything so it was very easy to understand. My son is 13, and he was thrilled with the lesson. Said he can't wait to try to make them on his own now!

      Great and authentic experience
My partner and I always enjoy fancy cooking classes, and therefore this experience was a perfect fit. The location is very suitable for the class, also it was nice that the group only consisted of 4 people which makes you enjoy it even more. Also our pastry chef was very polite and helpful, and we managed to bake very tasty and good looking tartes au citron. Can only recommend!

      Gorgeous but very crowded
It is always nice to see the latest creations of famous fashion designers and Galeries Lafayette is a perfect place to do that.. I didn’t buy anything but did enjoy boundless fantasy, ingenuity and variety of the haute couture outfits on display. The crowds are overwhelming and it certainly didn’t add to my experience. There are several cafes, wine bars and coffee shops, but I can’t say anything about them because I didn’t eat or drink there. The view from the roof was beautiful and surprisingly the terrace wasn’t crowded, maybe because it was late in the evening. I also went to La Maison Le Gourmet to buy a couple of slices of my favorite cheese, Comté, a small Chez Meunier baguette, and yogurt. La Maison Le Gourmet is fabulous as always.

If you're in Paris definitely visit Gallerie Lafayette. Beside all the shops, you can go to the roof top where is a breathtaking view.

      Even the windows look awesome
Located just behind Palais Garnier, not only is it multi-storey but also multi-building, the Galeries Lafayette in Paris is a shopper's paradise. Depending on what you're looking for it might be located in the next building. Most tourists would visit for the extravagant decor and it was no different during our visit during Christmas time. We also visited the rooftop which was free.

      Best place in Paris
Really miss this place as I used to visit here every single day and looking back today feels nostalgic. I am glad this place is still around and of course a touristic place at the same time

      Very poor content, not informative
This tour was disappointing. We were hoping to learn more info about the history, architecture, fashion, etc. but the content was very light and not really informative. The tour participants ended up asking questions to fill in the blanks, which the guide could not always answer. I think we could have learned way more on the internet. The tour guide was just not very well-informed or prepared. The one plus side to the tour was being able to go up behind the dome, which is not open to the public. Overall, I do not recommend the tour.

      Cooking Class at Ferrandi
The space was well organized with equipment and needed ingredients. It was in a glass enclosed space in the cooking department. The chef and students were close together allowing easy conversation. Class was very hands on with students making their own lemon tart.

Terrible tax refund procedure and customer service.
It has been 2 weeks and I have yet to receive my tax refunds. Reached out to their customer service and they’re horrible. Yes even though they’ve indicated 3-4 weeks processing time, however I’ve made purchases elsewhere where they engage global blue for tax refunds instead and I was able to get my refunds within 5 working days. This place is great however if you’re looking to get tax refunds, I highly recommend to make your purchases elsewhere. Reached out to their customer service and they’re so bad and not willing to help at all. Will never visit this mall again!

Is it worth all the hype?
Beautiful building with very expensive items inside, all designer label goods. Like a mall but no walls. Saw the same goods in Costa Mesa, CA at the same prices. Need a $1000 pair of sunglasses that make you looik like Elton John? This is your place. I saw a lot of lookers but not so many shoppers.

The Macaron Pastry class was supposed to be delivered in both English and French as written in the booking confirmation “You can book the course in English and French.” However, the instructor clearly lacks the basic English proficiency to communicate clearly in English and to make matters worse, she spoke in a very quiet voice so that many of us stood who farther away could hardly hear and/or understand what she was saying. (There were more than ten people in the class on that day.) She clearly favored and spent far more time speaking French than English, left us wondering what extra information she was saying in French that she did not communicate in English.

I should have read these reviews before going as I was expecting to actually have a go at baking macarons. Instead, we watched the instructor mix the ingredients and then all we did was to put a teaspoon of ganache onto pre-made macaron shells. The instructor was lovely and very knowledgeable but it's a shame we couldn't make our own. We came away with 4 pre-made macarons each and a recipe card but it's not worth the price at all. I don't think a baking class is an accurate description - it's more like a partial demonstration and talk.

I was gifted this experience as I love to cook and I often take cooking classes when I travel. The class was well-organised with instructions provided in both English and French. The duration of the class was just right and pitched at a level suitable for both novice and experienced bakers/cooks, as well as children and adults.

Attendees were taught how to make the shells as a group (but participants got to pipe at least 2 shells) then the fillings (2 types of ganache) individually. I presume this was to ensure that the class could run to time and that it would be suitable for all levels and a mix of adults and children.

In short, this is a great experience for the price, duration and location. I would recommend this activity for solo travellers, couples and families. Before or after the experience attendees also have the opportunity to browse the Galeries Lafayette and shop.

This was a fun side activity and a break from all the walking and sightseeing. Located right inside the Galeries Lafayette department store, easy to find. Class was full at 15 people and all American tourists. Teacher spoke English very well. The teacher demonstrated how to make the meringue and then mixed the dry ingredients into the meringue. She put it all into a piping bag and then we each had a turn to pipe two shells. That was the part I really wanted to practice more but we each only had those two shells. Afterward, while the shells were drying, we returned to our stations and made chocolate ganache and pistachio ganache. We then assembled two macarons each (from pre-baked shells) and got to take those home. It's about a 1.5 hour class and we learned some secret tips which we'll try when we get home. Overall, this was a fun class, didn't take up a lot of time, cost was reasonable. And when you're done, you can step right out and do all your shopping in the department store.

We have booked a macaron workshop here which got cancelled June 26 because of Covid. Very understandable but I am still waiting for my refund after 2,5 months! I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s hard to get in touch and all you receive are emails sent from no-reply addresses so you can’t even reply. Be warned!

We had a lovely time learning how to make the perfect macaron. The facility was spacious and modern, and our instructor was excellent and guided us with patience and kindness. Exploring Galeries Lafayette before and after class was so much fun... don't miss the rooftop! This experience inspired me to make macarons for the holidays so my friends and family have reaped the benefits as well!

Cute idea but not worth the money. At the start of class, the instructor made the cookies and asked if anyone wanted to "practice" piping them onto trays. I assumed that meant we'd all get the chance to make them at some point but nope, that was it. The rest of class consisted of whisking a tablespoon of chocolate ganache and even less pistachio butter, then spreading them onto the premade cookies. Our instructor had little interaction with the group beside asking our favorite French desserts. No instruction on how long to bake, what they should look like, etc (though we did leave with recipe cards). At $65/person... we walked away with four macarons. Plenty of other ways to spend money in Paris.

This was a fun and well-run class with a very nice, knowledgeable teacher. Her English is great! We got to do some hands-on baking, but the size of the group (and the amount of time it takes to make macarons) means we couldn't do all of the steps ourselves. The true test will be when I try to make them myself back home! All in all, a very positive and fun experience that I would recommend.

So the class was cancelled due to Chanel wanting the room , no one informed us and we didnt get a refund $100 . Also when we got there 20 minutes early no one at the store knew were it was , they then said go to the gourmet store next door , asked and asked , eventually a lady on 3 rd store said go back its in the other store on 3rd floor and yes she agreed very hard to find.
We eventually found it and two other women were in the same predicament as we were . We were not called or emailed about cancellation and basically wasted 2 hours of our day in Paris

The company cancelled my booking as "minimum numbers are not met". I've planned a whole day of my holiday around this class and for them to cancel 3 days before is unacceptable. I dont care if the minimum numbers are not met, the class should still go ahead.

Ridiculous and unacceptable behaviour towards customers.

And to top it off, this holiday is to celebrate an engagement, my partner has always wanted to learn how to make macarons as its her favourite. Im so disappointed that she won't be able to now.
