American D-Day Beaches Full Day Tour from Bayeux
US$115.94
Overview
Retrace the steps of American D-Day troops on a full-day tour of Normandy’s US landing sectors from Bayeux. Travel by air-conditioned minivan with your expert guide, and stand at key landing and drop points, including Omaha Beach and St-Mere-Eglise. See the battle sites at La Pointe du Hoc, inspect the German batteries at Longues Sur Mer, and visit Arromanches, the Utah Beach Museum and Normandy American Cemetery to remember those who gave their lives in June 1944. Numbers are limited to eight people for a more personalized experience.
What to Expect
Following an 8:30am pickup in central Bayeux or your centrally located Bayeux hotel, take a seat in your air-conditioned minivan for the onward journey to the WWII U.S landing beaches of Normandy.

During your 9-hour tour, follow in the footsteps of the American troops on Omaha Beach. Visit the Pointe du Hoc, the town of Sainte-Mère-Église — where U.S paratroopers fought German soldiers — and Utah Beach, and learn of the heavy losses felt on all sides during WWII at the Utah Beach Museum.

Perhaps pay your respects to the fallen soldiers at the Normandy American Cemetery, then take in key sites of interest including the German gun battery and Mulberry Harbour — widely regarded as a key facility in the Allies’ victory during the Battle of Normandy.

When your time on the Normandy coast comes to an end, return in comfort to your starting point in Bayeux to conclude your tour.

Definite do if you don't have a car

Don’t waste your money

Booked this tour in English, but when our guide arrived at 8:30 and most of the other tours had just left, we were informed that she’d be switching back and forth between French and English to accommodate the other four French speakers. My son looked...More

We drove in to Bayeaux from nearby but parking was very difficult to find. Our guide, Eric, had us follow him initially and he knew where there were free parking spaces. I wish I could remember the name of his company I'd... More

The tour I took allowed plenty of time to stop at each location. St. Mere Eglise was excellent, we had about 30 minutes to spend in the town square and we had near an hour of time in the cemetery.
