My wife and I took the Band of Brothers tour on 7 Sept with Jordan as our guide. The locations visited were all the things we were hoping to see and more, and the exclusive access to Brecourt Manor and other properties was great.
Jordan is nothing short of a master of his craft. His knowledge down to the minute of the sequence of events at all the sights was amazing. His anecdotes about his grandparents experience put a reality to the thing that one can't get from books. His passion for the subject was apparent when we crossed a causeway late in the tour and he related what had happened there because one of the guests asked about it although it wasn't part of our itinerary. He paused at on point and said "I wish we had more time, because I could talk all afternoon about what happened here."
We had contemplated doing this on our own as I don't usually care for group tours, but that would have been a huge mistake. Thanks to all.

We took a two day tour (Day 1 with Pierre Day 2 with Yannick). Our two guides couldn’t have been more knowledgeable or enthusiastic. Their grasp of historical context was scholarly and conveyed in a way to make the subject interesting to all. They also were able to go into extreme detail and managed all sorts of questions no matter how deep or shallow. Between the context and the detail, both guides wove a number individual combatant stories that brought the experience closer to us. They made it fun and engaged the whole tour. At the same time they both conveyed the seriousness of the subject matter and made sure everyone understood the magnitude of the Overlord undertaking and the challenges faced by the invading force.

Tour Guide / Driver Alain recommended. Book him before he retires. He speaks English very well, is easy to understand, and knowledgeable. The Band of Brothers and TOUR #2 Omaha Beach / Utah Beach – are the same tour in the morning, the afternoon routes differ. We opted for both beaches. This is a full day tour that covers the major sights of the American sector. Our only regret is that we didn't stay one more night in Bayuex to revisit some of the museums and visitor centers with our rental car. I highly recommend taking the tour first and not attempting to drive all of it yourself. We rented a car in Caen for the trip to Mont Saint Michel on Saturday and left it in public parking (free on Sundays). Due to our tour being the first day of the season (March 1st) it turned into a private tour in the full size mini-bus. This tour was recommended by friends that took it a year before. Well worth the cost.

Our tour with Thierry was absolutely amazing!! Thierry had extensive knowledge and answered all of our many questions — even staying a few hours later than the scheduled tour time to chat. We were able to actually walk through Brecourt Manor because Thierry knew the farm owner, which my Dad absolutely loved. Thierry added intimate facts to the tour that brought to life the events that happened in 1944. This was the highlight of our trip to Normandy!

Fantastic tour. We saw so many historical sights, lots recognisable from the Band of Brothers series and so many more on top. Thierry our tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He spoke perfect English and explained everything we were seeing so well. He had lots of stories and pictures so even if you weren’t familiar with the series he would still be able to explain what you were seeing and it’s significance in the D-Day landings. He answered all our questions both about the items in the tour and about the area of Normandy and gives plenty of time to see everything in your own time and take photos.
We did the full day tour and it is quite a long day but so much is squeezed into it and there’s plenty of opportunities for snacks/lunch/bathroom breaks.

Our guide Christian was very knowledgeable about the events of D-Day & the battle of Normandy. Beyond reciting events, however, he told multiple stories about events and people to keep everyone interested.
The tour visited both US beaches, the German battery, St. Mere Eglise with time to see the Airborne Museum, and several sites of interest such as the location where Lt. Winters Easy Company destroyed the 4 German guns.
Definitely worthwhile.

We had the most beautiful day ( besides the rain) learning and visiting the Band of Brothers sites. Each step we took with Rethro, our guide and driver, was loaded with visual awe and admiration for the Band of Brothers. Rethro knew his stories well and taught us and reminded us of the history. We saw many sites that were part of the story but clearly not part of just any tour. We loved all the extras of this tour. I truly have a whole new respect for all of our soldiers. Well done Rethro and Overland tours. Well done!!!!

We had a wonderful day on our full day Band of Brothers tour with Rethro. The tour was very comprehensive, Rethro was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He had as much fun as we did. Seeing pictures from 1944 of the exact spot you were standing was unbelievable. We thoroughly enjoyed the this tour and our tour guide and would highly recommend this for others. Great job Overlord Tours!

Just finished up our band of Brothers tour. AMAZING! You could tell our guide- Pierre- knew his material. He was very thorough and entertaining. Would 100% recommend to anyone that is a WW2 buff and/or a fan of Band of Brothers.

This tour had a very knowledgeable guide, Michael P, who took us to multiple sites that had anything American to do with the battle of Normandy. He had so many facts about who, when and where; often connecting them to Band of Brothers and others movies. The van was comfortable and we were picked up across from our hotel. He had recommendations for where to eat lunch and gave us time to fully tour the American cemetery. It seemed that Overlord Tour had access to some places where others could not enter.

What age is considered an adult for purposes of the tour?
Retired6812

I don’t know the exact age, but our guide had so much information regarding troop divisions, military leadership names, etc., that I doubt anyone under 16 years would enjoy this.
I see we cannot schedule tours in the fall yet. Will you be offering tours in November and December of 2021?

We will be riding the train into Bayeux that morning.
1.). Where does tour begin?
2.). What time does it begin?
3.). Approximately what time does to finish? We will need a return train ticket.

We will be driving in from Caen. Where is a good place to park the car for the day?

We just took this tour a couple weeks ago and the best spot to park was Parc Michel Ornano...perhaps a five minute walk to where the tour leaves from and plenty of parking. Beware of one way streets if navigating to the location using google maps or similar program...they don't always show you one ways!
I see that the start time is 8.20. What time will this tour end? Thanks!

Our tour ended a little later than planned - arriving back at the drop-off spot at about 6:30 pm. This was most definitely due to the high traffic volume the day after the 75th D-Day anniversary and a very rainy day. We were advised by our driver in advance that this might happen and everyone on our tour had no time constraints!
can you suggest hotel near site of pickup place?

The Churchill Hotel is located right next to the pick-up location. The town is very walkable, we stayed near the cathedral and it was only a 5-10 minute walk.

I also agree with the previous answers. Watching the first 2 episodes gives a great overview to what you will see on the tour and you can put the actual names to the places you will be at. Our guide was great and went above-and-beyond to point out differences/extras between real life events and the series.
How many people does this tour carry?

the number of people on a tour varies but while we had 30+ on our tour, it was in no way cumbersome. everything was so well managed, meals were handled expeditiously as were admissions to museums etc. everyone was super cooperative on being back on the bus on time. we had headsets so we could hear the guides clearly at all the stops.
