About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jones_Glenwood0 contributionsExcellent day tour of Utah, Omaha beaches and related areasAn full day tour from Bayeux made exceptional by our friendly guide Julie. She explained the allied objectives and the problems they had to overcome were visible first hand. Our first stop was the church at Sainte- Mere- Eglise and she offered a few new explanations regarding the parachute landings there in the opening hours of the landings. The museum at Utah was very good and we spent a good time on both Utah and Omaha beaches with Julie explaining in detail the problems the allies faced. The defences and topography of Pointe du Hoc were amazing with so much battle evidence still visible. The tour finished with a stop at the Normandy American Cemetary, a fitting end to one of the most memorable days we have experienced... much of which can be attributed to Julie's knowledge and enthusiasm...Written 17 January 2025
- Feral_nz0 contributionsExcellent tour to one of the most surreal placesWe did the full day tour to Mont St Michel (from Bayeux) in early January 2025. The trip to Mont St Michel itself is a couple hours each way, so you spend a lot of time on the road, but our transport was a nice new Mercedes van so it wasn't too bad. You get to see a bit of the countryside at least. Mont St Michel itself is unreal. You've probably seen pictures, but you don't really appreciate the size, scale and beauty of it until you're standing right in front of it. The place just oozes history, having been around in some form for more than 1,000 years. A couple dozen people still live there, and there's plenty of souvenir shops and eateries to satisfy your touristy needs. Our tour guide Kate was awesome. Not only does she have a huge amount of knowledge about the buildings and monastery on the mount itself, but she also gave us a LOT of information about the history not only of Mont St Michel itself, but also of the surrounding region. In short, a great tour to one of the most visited places in France (and rightly so). Highly recommended!Written 16 January 2025
- dsjhite0 contributionsMust Do from BayeauxEric was an excellent tour guide. He’s very knowledgeable, and you can see his passion for WW2. It was a jam packed tour and one of the highlights of our trip. We only had 5 on our tour, so it felt like a private tour. The van is comfortable, and the stop for lunch was very good. I liked not having the food price included. This is an absolute must do in your lifetime. These men sacrificed so much for freedom. I’m so glad we did this tour from Bayeaux. It gave us extra time at each location.Written 14 January 2025
- WENDY V0 contributionsHighly recommend this great tour!We had the best day! The tour that Alec gave was so informative and very interesting. The visit to the beaches, The Utah Beach Museum, and the stops in between were fantastic! The American Cemetery in Omaha Beach is so moving and breathtaking. Be sure to be there for taps. What a beautiful and emotionally great site that pays tribute to those who gave all. Alec’s recall for numbers and interesting facts is remarkable. He, an Englishman transport who lives in France knows more about the USA, Great Britain and France together than anyone - especially ourselves!Written 14 January 2025
- 44pascaled0 contributionsOmaha TourOu guide was very knowledgeable and made very efficient use of the time allotted. He spoke English. I would definitely recommend and take this tour again. The area is large and the history vast, this tour allows for a good understanding while also covering a lot of areas geographically.Written 11 January 2025
- FussyTraveler990 contributionsA meaningful experienceI have wanted to see the Normandy beaches for quite a while . Finally had the opportunity in December. The weather didn’t really cooperate, but we were ready for it. The stories of Eric , our guide, were still compelling and he clearly knows his stuff. We were a small group of 8 in the van and as expected at that time of year, it was pretty empty. We really got a good sense of what the fighting had look3d like. I’ve taken off one star because I felt very rushed at our last stop, the US cemetery. It was closing at 5, we got there about 4:30 and they wouldn’t even let us walk all the way down because it closes at 5 on the nose. Nor did we have time for the Visitor Center there, which I had read was fabulous. Sadly, this was because we spent about 45 min listening to Eric while standing outside the first stop at the church. While interesting, that stop could easily have been 15-20 minutes which would’ve left us more time at the end. I felt as if our timing was off all day.Written 6 January 2025
- Resort215240537360 contributionsFull-day Tour of American Beaches and CemeteryA thorough, interesting tour of the Omaha and Utah beaches and the US cemetery. Our guide, Alex, was interesting, humorous and friendly. We highly recommend him.Written 5 January 2025
- William S0 contributionsA memorable trip to St Michel's.Katell picked us up in her clean and modern Mercedes van and drove us from Bayeux to Mont Saint-Michel. The journey took about 90 minutes, after which we made our way to the island. Katell's English was excellent, and her historical knowledge of Mont Saint-Michel, the Normandy region, and the military involvement during World War II was outstanding. She patiently guided us through each area of the monastery, explaining everything carefully, passionately, and precisely. The pace of the tour was perfect. Well done!Written 4 January 2025
- G1373HEmargaretm0 contributionsHighly recommendFabulous and deeply moving day on this day trip from Bayeaux. Matt was the tour leader, and from beginning to end, he brought to life the history of the D-Day landings and the weeks that followed. Highly recommend.Written 28 December 2024
- danhA5355VQ0 contributionsAwesome tour !The trip to Mont St. Michel was an excellent day ! We were delighted with our tour guide Julie, who described the history and uniqueness of the site with great detail and showed us the distinct beauty and highlights of the area and took the extra steps to answer all of our questions. We highly recommend her for your guests !Written 23 December 2024
- Nomad395007338120 contributionsBest Tour Ever! This was, by far, the best tour I have ever had and the highlight of me and my wife’s France trip! Bucket list item checked off! Seeing the sites of where American soldiers landed and jumped into Omaha Beach and Utah Beach was amazing. My great uncle was at Omaha Beach on D-Day and to see where he landed was a moment to remember. Eric, the tour guide, was very kind, very knowledgeable, and all around amazing. We will definitely book with Gold Beach Company again!Written 22 December 2024
- johnrA238BL0 contributionsMemorable Day in NormandyAlex is a terrific tour guide! He has an extraordinary understanding of World War II Normandy, and he's passionate about the people who have stories that need to be told. His telling of those stories in the places they occurred is incredibly moving. He's also very funny. The combination made for a very enjoyable and memorable day.Written 19 December 2024
- Tom425320 contributionsIncredible Site, Solid TourThis was a well-organized tour of an amazing place. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Mon St Michel, from the long walk across the land bridge to the climb to the top of the monastery. Our tour guide was good, very knowledgeble and personable. I would have enjoyed more interaction - more stories and chat - during the long drive between Bayeux and the site (and back). Otherwise, very pleased with the tour.Written 10 December 2024
- Tom425320 contributionsExcellent TourThis is a full day tour of the D-day area, with five stops - the town of Sainte Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. We had some free time at Utah beach to visit the museum (entrance fee included in the tour price) and at the cemetery. The tour was well-organized and our guide was excellent. Every stop was interesting and the stories from our guide were moving. We especially appreciated the sequence: visiting the cemetery last, we were in time for the daily playing of taps and lowering of the flag - a very nice ceremony.Written 10 December 2024

Today I had the pleasure of taking this tour with Lucas as our guide. He was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Although he is young he had great respect and honored the sacrifices that the U.S. and allied troops made to liberate France. He gave us enough time to see the sites visited and told many informative stories that brought the tour to life. I have a deeper appreciation for the people of Normandy and will forever remember this trip. Highly recommend taking this tour.

This was one of the best tours I've ever taken and was primarily due to our guide-driver. I don't recall his name but he was phenomenal! I've taken over one hundred tours in the past 30 years and this was fantastic. We didn't spend too long at any one spot and were able to visit quite a few sites from the D-Day invasion. This was a bucket list item for me and this excursion was very fulfilling. The van only took eight tourists so it was small and private.
Highly recommended and affordable!

Had a great experience with Gold Beach company. We selected their US D-Day tour. They were very responsive over their customer service portal and maintained great communication with us. We were the last tour of the Fall 2023 season and our tour guide was Eliza. She was great! She had a lot of knowledge to share with us. I appreciated all her stories, and her binder with photos pertinent to the tour. She changed the schedule around to get us a better experience. For example, she prioritized us getting to the American Cemetery in order to see the flag ceremony in time. She also called the American Cemetery early in the day to get a special visit arranged for us since my husband had a family member buried there. We didn’t know this was possible and really appreciated her going above and beyond to arrange this experience for us. The staff took us to the plot by golf cart and we noticed that this section was closed to the public. If it wasn’t for Eliza, we wouldn’t have gotten to see the tombstone. She did a great job of keeping us on schedule and delivering on everything the tour promised. Highly recommend booking a tour with Eliza if possible!

Our guide Kate was really knowledgeable. It was obvious that she really cared about giving her clients a top notch experience. She was so good that in fact when my wife and I return to France, she would be the only tour guide we would want! She had absolutely amazing attention to detail and in depth knowledge of the area. She was very outgoing and friendly and had a very good command of English as well.

The experience surpassed my expectations. Tour was well organized in terms of time and stops. Our guide Lucas was extremely knowledgeable and easily answered every question about DDay that any of us had. It was a full day ending with watching the flags being lowered and taps being played at the American Cemetery-Avery moving experience.
Lucas met us at the railway station in bayeux and brought us back there in plenty of time to get the 6:34 pm train back to Paris. This was easily one in the best tours I've been on. Five stars plus.

The tour itself was very good and the tour guide was very good. But we did have a huge disappointment. We had scheduled an English speaking tour and at the last minute a French family was put in our tour and it became a bilingual tour. Having a bilingual tour means that you have no time to ask questions or interact with your guide because he is busy trying to explain the tour in two languages. This was a big disappointment after paying all that money! I would give this tour a 2 due to that breach of contract regarding the language. This was not the tour guide’s fault, it was the gold beach company‘s fault. Poor decision, gold beach company!

Thank you very much for this review regarding our guiding service. Thanks to this you were able to understand the sacrifice of many women and men of different nationalities during this tragic historical episode that was the Second World War. Freedom, Peace, Sharing, Humanity, Nations are the words that our customers note and remember. Apparently not all.

I was very excited to go on this tour as I live in France and have been wanting for years to take this pilgrimage to honor our fallen hero's. I had the privilege of having the most knowledgeable, kind and patient tour guide - Brad ! No question was too basic and he knows his history well! It was a full on day, but it went by very fast as Brad is engaging and provides so many stories and anecdotes along the way - so many interesting details that we did not read in history books ! The entire experience was fascinating - from learning about the war strategy and being in the middle of it all...to walking on those beaches. I only visited the American cemetery and only say I wish I had gone sooner. This tour is an absolute must. Thank you again Brad !

Matt was an EXCELLENT guide, very knowledgeable and willing to answer every question related to D Day and the tour. He even took us to an extra location during the tour. If you’re looking to “cover” D-Day in a one day tour, this is the perfect one to do. We took the train in from Paris (first one in the morning), took the tour (ended around 5:15pm), had time to sight see in Bayeux (tapestry and cathedral), had dinner and made it back on the last train back to Paris. Would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends looking to tour Normandy and the D-Day locations.

It was the best experience learning about the history of what the D-Day plan was, and then what happened. I never knew 17 countries were involved in the plan! So much information at each stop. Alec was so knowledgeable, easy going and also gave us the time and space we needed to explore.
