About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- normanhZ198GK0 contributionsBest Tour Guide in the Normandy Region!!!While visiting the Normandy region, we took a tour with “Boy” from Neptune Tours who was absolutely fantastic!!! Boy was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about all of the history that entails the Normandy region. We visited Omaha and Utah beaches, visited the American cemetery, visited bunkers and many other WWII sights and monuments. Aside from seeing the main sights, Boy took us to some off the beaten track places that many of the tours don’t go to. It was a truly a fully comprehensive tour and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting this region. You cannot have a belter tour guide than Boy!!! He was great and we all had a fabulous time!!!Written 4 November 2024
- Wallace W0 contributionsAmazing tourThis was a day tour around Omaha and Utah Beaches with a visit to the American cemetery. Boy was very knowledgeable and his passion for D-Day history was key to highlighting events through out the invasion. Recounting the stories shared by so many veterans was enthralling and so humbling.Written 11 October 2024
- 407phyllisf0 contributionsThe Beaches, the Cemeteries and MoreBoy, our guide, was terrific. He was punctual, extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. Boy shared pertinent information in a timely manner and had many anecdotes to share.Written 29 September 2024
- Amy True F0 contributionsBOOK WITH BOY TODAY!As the youngest member of our group, which ranges in age from 54 to 74, I can confidently say we had a remarkable tour with Boy. He made the entire experience come alive with his storytelling and unique perspective. His flexibility and friendly demeanor made it feel like we were spending the day with an old friend. While Boy has a deep knowledge of the history, he shares it in a way that doesn’t overwhelm you with statistics, but instead paints a vivid picture of D-Day and the operations that followed, along with individual stories of soldiers and units. I’ll admit I was initially uncertain about having a guide who wasn’t originally from the Normandy area, but Boy exceeded all expectations. His passion for the history, coupled with his humility and kindness, made it an unforgettable experience. As a bonus, he has a personal connection to the area through his girlfriend, who is a true Normandy local. Our 5-hour tour included stops at Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery, with a few bonus roadside stops along the way. One of my favorite moments was down a side road into a farm field, where we explored two old German bunkers. Boy’s pacing was perfect—we focused on fewer locations but took the time to truly absorb each one instead of rushing through. It was surreal to imagine the soldiers who once navigated this land, facing unimaginable dangers. The emotional weight of the experience really hit me later in the day as I reflected on everything we had seen. I would absolutely love to return, as there is far more to see than can be covered in one day. Thank you to Boy for his dedication to honoring the veterans, the people of Normandy, and all those who visit.Written 19 September 2024
- M2466PYgaryh0 contributionsIncredible D-Day Guided TourFor those visiting the Normandy area, this tour is exceptional. Our guide, Boy (yes, that is his name), is incredibly knowledgeable of the history surrounding D-Day. He is a passionate advocate for veterans, which was very evident during our day long tour. Spend the day with Boy and you will remember the tour for a lifetime. Thank you again, Boy! Gary and LindaWritten 12 September 2024
- BethM6160 contributionsAmazing D-Day tour with BoyWe had a great day on our private tour with Boy. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of D-Day. Highly recommend!Written 11 September 2024
- JLW J0 contributionsAn excellent tour provided by a knowledgeable guideOur tour with Neptune Battle Tours was excellent! Much of this is due to the owner and our guide Boy Eysbroek. His knowledge about D-Day preparations, executions and impact was phenomenal. I felt he adjusted the tour based on our questions and discussions. The four of us on the tour highly recommend Neptune Battle Tours and Boy Eysbroek. Thank you Boy!Written 29 August 2024
- L7979HOjennifert0 contributionsHands Down Best Tour!!!This is hands down the best tour I have ever been on! Our guide, Boy, has extensive knowledge about the area and about WWII. He lives in the area and has spent years researching and meeting with the veterans. He shares their personal stories and other stories that are not well known. He is like a walking history book. Even when we were driving to each location, he could tell us the history of the places we passed. For example, he showed us places where US soldiers were first buried prior to the creation of the American Cemetery Memorial, the fields that were flooded by the German army, and a German grave site. Boy also took us to a special place that most people don’t get to go. I went on the tour with my husband, our parents and 2 kids (ages 9 and 11). Boy made the tour fun and interesting and was very patient with the kids. I highly recommend taking this tour if you are in the area. I guarantee you will see and learn things you didn’t learn in history class. Boy, thank you for an amazing day!!Written 27 July 2024
- aprilwD6104LX0 contributionsThe cost is worth the experienceOur family of four (two tweens and two adults) had an amazing time. The tour was amazing and took us places that we could have never gone or experienced on a large group tour - every question we asked, Boy knew the answer. He gave an appropriate amount of time to take everything in and the day flew by and Boy was not concerned about making sure we wrapped up at a certain time but cared most that we had a great experience. Absolutely worth the cost. I had no clue how much there was to see, and my only regret is that we didn't plan an extra day to go back and explore some more.Written 7 July 2024
- thecitadel860 contributionsBest Tour EverOutside of the birth of my children, my marriage, and attending the Masters, I haven’t looked forward to a day more than this. Touring the D-Day battlefield has always been on the top of my bucket list. My already high expectations were exceeded. Our tour guide (Boy) could not have been better: friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we hit every American site on my list (mind you, I didn’t ask for them). The American Cemetery, Omaha, Utah, Pointe du Hoc, Breicort Manner, and Ste. Marie Eglise, while throwing in a few extras. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this tour was. A thousand thumbs up. Best tour ever.Written 20 June 2024
- 553hyruml0 contributionsNormandy Private Guided Tour Like NO OTHER!There's no other guide like Boy. If you want to know everything about D-Day, then this is the tour for you. Boy takes all of his knowledge about the event and really helps you get to know individual soldiers and their stories. Even further, I'm almost sure there are parts of the tour that most others don't see because Boy has the hook ups 😄 This is definitely something that is worth every penny and the value that you get back is amazing. Highly recommended!Written 16 June 2024
- janetK1635YH0 contributionsCan’t recommend enough! My family had an absolutely amazing d-day tour with Boy! I have done another tour of the American sites and he gave so much more information at the sites and stopped at other lesser known spots along the way! Boy has met veterans throughout the years and was able to pass along stories he has heard from them that really make the day even more special than it already was. I couldn’t recommend this tour company enough!Written 31 May 2024
- davidtE9903CQ0 contributionsLike stepping back in timeWow! What an amazing tour. Visiting Normandy to pay my respects to the greatest generation has been a bucket list item for me for so long. Boy, our guide, gave us a full day tour that me, my wife and close friends cannot stop talking about. I now realize that even a day touring and trying to experience on D-day and after is not enough but Boy did all he could to help us experience the enormity of that day and months after. His passion and knowledge was amazing and his ability to tell and show us individual stories of soldiers and show us places we’d never see or find alone made it all worthwhile. It was like stepping back in time which is exactly what we wanted for the tour. Thank you Boy.Written 30 May 2024
- patdB9953XD0 contributionsBest Your Guide...Ever!!!This tour was absolutely wonderful!!! On April 30, 2024 we had a 4-person private all-day tour of the American Cemetery, Omaha and Utah Beaches and lots of places in between. In my opinion, Boy was the best tour guide that I've ever experienced. He clearly has a passion for WWII history. His knowledge comes not only from books and the internet, but also from first-hand interviews with people who directly experienced combat operations on June 6, 1944. Book his tour! You will not go wrong!Written 27 May 2024
- N8268ROstevep0 contributionsGreat D-Day experience!Thierry gave us an excellent tour of the British and Canadian beaches. We enjoyed seeing the pictures taken during D-Day and how it compared to present day. The tour was complete and we got to see Pegasus Bridge, the landing areas and the towns along the way. Thierry brought the stories to life. We could imagine the time 80 years ago when the real invasion happened. Thank you, Thierry!Written 14 May 2024

Boy was amazing. He picked my wife and I up at Carentan train station to help us get to our next destination. His trip was amazing, he was knowledgeable and had great stories. We had just finished Band of Brothers before coming and he was able to adjust the tour to show us some sites related to that.

What a wonderful, extremely qualified and knowledgeable D-Day tour guide. Not only did he give an incredible tour which was on our bucket list, but he was patient and kind with us. Opening doors, providing umbrellas and simply just sweet. His knowledge opened all of our eyes and gave us an elevated experience of the most historic day in history. We will be recommending him to all of our close friends and family for sure! Thank you so very much!

A small group of us hired Boy for our tour of the Normandy WWII sights. He met us promptly at the cruise ship terminal in Cherbourg and had us back well in time for the "all aboard." For weeks before, he communicated with us frequently and answered all our questions.
Our group of 8 could not find a question that Boy did not know the answer to. His knowledge of D-Day, the events and significance, is encyclopedic. And yet, he never talked too much. I appreciated that whenever we walked around as a group, Boy made a point to approach each of us from time to time to speak to us individually. He encouraged questions.
The only issue I had was the stop for lunch. We were herded into a large restaurant that caters to bus tours. While the food was fine, I would have liked to have had options - a couple smaller places were within walking distance. Boy could have pointed out his preferred place, mentioned their popularity with the larger tours, but also then suggested alternatives.
We paid a more-than-reasonable fee for this 7-hour tour. Compare that to what the cruise ship charges for a much larger group experience. Don't let the sparsity of reviews deter you from booking Boy. He has been a tour guide for many years, recently starting his own company.
