- CindyH2840 contributionsPerfect introduction to AixThis tour was great! Suburb way to learn a bit about local specialities as well as gaining knowledge of the city and France in general. Products at each stop were well researched and Ted had a good rapport with staff at each shop which created a genial atmosphere. Ted was affable and well informed regarding a range of topics. His experiences living in Paris and Boston were particularly useful in contrasting anything from baguettes to taxation. We would happily join any of his tours in Aix!Written 8 December 2024

In addition to the fun tastings of chocolate, macarons, wine, cheese and meat, he provided some fun history facts and made the tour really interesting. - Lieschen880 contributionsMust-doWe did the historic tour with Edouard and it was the best decision! Having been the only participants of the tour that afternoon after signing up quite short notice and having to leave after one hour, he did his best to wrap up the tour while still showing us lots of interesting places around the city. We really enjoyed the tour and his tips and would definitely do another one next time we‘ll be visiting Aix. Thanks for your flexibility!Written 6 April 2024
- Navigate178620245770 contributionsAix-en-Provence tour with Ted/EdouardWe very much enjoyed the walking tour with Edouard (Ted). He is easy to understand as he speaks French like a Frenchman and English like an American. The tour proceeded at a steady but unhurried pace. Edouard not only provided the history and explanations of the various types of architecture but also pointed out some of the less obvious but interesting city treasures. He was very accommodating answering everyone’s questions. He recommended restaurants, bakeries, patisseries, and a shop that sells Madeleines. I later went back for some Madeleines and was glad I did. I wholeheartedly recommend Edouard/Ted’s tour.Written 26 March 2024
- lucybY5758VS0 contributionsFantastic Foodie TourAbsolutely fantastic! Edouard knows exactly where to take you and sample the local specialities. Great guy, super knowledgeable and very welcoming and well organised. Thank you for a wonderful evening in Aix!Written 13 March 2024
- Lucybur10 contributionsExcellent TourEdouard is charming, knowledgeable and an excellent tour guide. He took us around the city, pointing out things that we would never have seen otherwise. The tastings were very authentic and well thought out and he clearly has a good relationship with the owners of the best local establishments in Aix. He gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and could not have been more helpful in letting us know what others things to do in the area and has a great knowledge about all the vineyards etc. Our two hours went really quickly and we got to know Edouard on the tour and he is a genuine lovely guy who has a passion for all things Aix. Highly recommend, thank you for a great tour.Written 12 March 2024
- Jenny M0 contributionsA wonderful way to discover Aix en ProvenceHaving only passed through briefly before this visit, this tour was a brilliant way to scratch the surface and discover the real heart of Aix en Provence. As an unabashed foodie, I really enjoyed learning about the origins of the famous Calisson (and of course buying some to taste for myself) as well as having brilliant restaurants pointed out along the way. Ted was super patient and interesting, offering up lots of little bits of knowledge and context as we walked around. I had briefly studied Cezanne in college so getting to explore his town was amazing, and Ted made it a really fun, learning experience. I highly recommend!Written 1 February 2024
- jglad6050 contributionsGreat way to experience AixWe had a wonderful time with Edouard on the treasure hunt. We learned a lot about the history and culture of the city, as well as tips for some of the best food and markets as we walked around town. It was a great overview of the city for my husband and me, and the treasure hunt kept my four year old engaged as we covered a lot of ground. He was so excited that we actually found a treasure at the end!Written 31 January 2024

I was drunk on oysters and white wine by 11am after our decadently delicious tour of the market so what's not to like?! Ted gave us the lowdown on all the dope products and we came back with pockets full of sausage goodies. Best guide in town hands down!

Ted knows the market and vendors well and has the expertise to guide you to some of the best producers and growers. He is knowledgeable and interesting, and he thoughtfully customized the experience to my requests and interests - I was able to taste and buy the things that I was most interested in. He also knows the larger region and made some thoughtful suggestions for places out of town. Ted is your source for local Aix food, history and culture!

Great introduction to the farmers markets of Aix en Provence! We stopped at lots of stalls to speak to vendors, do tastings and hear about the products. I would not have been confident to do this myself. it was also interesting to hear a bit about the history of the city.

So much cheese, amazing bread, truffle products and sweets to sample. Ed was a gracious tour guide and was sure to point out his favorite vendors. And the setting in the old city was so perfect!

What an amazing experience from start to finish! I love food and knew that the farmers markets in Aix were on the top of my to-do list, but I was a little nervous about speaking in French to the vendors. Not to worry though with Ted. He knows everyone at the market personally and is extremely helpful in pointing you in the right direction when it comes to the best produce and regional products! I came back to my airbnb with my bags full and everything was even better than I could have imagined. If you want the insider track on the best food and local specialties at the farmers market, this tour is the perfect introduction.

This tour is a wonderful way to get a feel and taste for the city! The fish market is extraordinary, as is the abundance of fresh vegetables. We bought a wide selection of dried gourmet mushrooms to take home with us. Highly recommended foodie experience!

Edouard was an amazing tour guide! He speaks perfect English and French, and knows every good shop in town. My family went with him for the market tour (make sure to do the truffle tasting!), and we liked it so much that we also took the kids with him to play petanque at the park. A fantastic experience all around.

It was a pleasure meeting and touring with Edouard. He is very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He went out of his way by purchasing apple cider so we could taste it.
