About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Wander476475139130 contributionsOh La La - A bit of French Country Provence in Napier - Quiet & BeautifulStunning Quiet Accomodation in Napier set in a quiet setting in a beautiful garden. We stayed for three nights perfect accommodation in French Country Style - welcoming muffins on the table. Two Rooms - Large Lounge at the front and good sized Bedroom out the back. The decor is antique French chic - comfy bed with high quality linen, good bathroom with hot shower and fluffy towels. There is a self service breakfast of cereals, fruit and toast provided along with coffee pods, teas. There is a microwave. This was all adequate for us but others may wish to go out for dinner. We absolutely loved this accomodation check in was easy and friendly. If you love something that fits in with a beautiful garden with mature trees and statues that you can take an evening stroll in. You might see a rabbit and there are some quail as well. The garden has a gazebo and covered area just outside for use. This is suitable for couples.Written 24 January 2024
- scupkovic0 contributionsSimon/Cupkovic French ExperienceOur guide, Laurent Nurisso, was excellent. We actually did three full day tours including the tiny hilltop villages tour from Gordes to Lourmarin, Marseille, Cassis, Nice, and Cannes, among other cities. It was historical, educational, fun and a real exhilarating workout, too! On future trips to France, we would definitely use OohProvence again and strongly recommend them!!Written 20 October 2023
- scupkovic0 contributionsSimon/Cupkovic France TripOur tour guide, Laurent Nurisso of OohProvence was excellent! We had three full days of tours in Provence in the south of France and it could not have been better. It was historical, educational, fun and an excellent workout. We would definitely use OohProvence again on our future trips to France!!Written 20 October 2023
- kellycB7010IV0 contributionsAbsolutely Wonderful! My husband and I were on a cruise and had limited time to explore Provence. The Ooh Provence team organized a perfect day with visits to three wineries, a fantastic lunch, and a beautiful drive with views of Mont Sante Victoire. It was a bank holiday, so scheduling visits required an extra effort, but it was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend!Written 17 October 2023
- skigator93a0 contributionsExcellent TourThis private tour was well worth the price. Our tour guide, Laurent, sent us a text message the night before to introduce himself and let us know where to meet him at the cruise port. He was there holding a sign with my name right on time. We arrived in Provence early so Laurent took us to the top of the mountain where we were treated to magnificent views of the French countryside. He took us to three local wineries of varying sizes, but all of them were small, family owned vineyards where we received personal service and a personal tasting guide. Two of them gave us an extensive "behind the scenes" tour of their own wine making process and we walked the vineyards, entered the cellars and saw the holding tanks and barrels so we could see how the wine is processed from vine to bottle. One of them had a small restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious lunch, accompanied by their own wine, of course (the lunch is not included as stated in the tour description but it was not expensive). Our guide ate lunch with us and we enjoyed getting to know each other and became friends. We tried so many different wines that we lost count, but it was probably close to two dozen by the end of the day. The car was very clean and he had cold waters for us as needed. Laurent even gave us a small gift upon departure. We felt fortunate to have such a local, knowledgeable guide - it felt more like a family friend showing us around his town. I would highly recommend this tour and that you request Laurent as your guide.Written 17 October 2023
- Explorer304710 contributionsAn amazing experience!Christopher is an excellent guide. He provided us background in the region and guided us through our tastings in our first visit to Chateauneuf du Pape. I highly recommend Oop Provence if you are traveling in this region. They can enhance your visit and mike it unforgettable. The private tour is so worth it!Written 4 October 2023
- Voyager417071426390 contributionsBest vacation experience so far!We had a great day in Châteauneuf du Pape with Chris! It was nice to have everything arranged beforehand and get a second take on the wineries and the history of the region. Lunch was a real treat, and we liked the wine so much we ended up shipping a case home. Overall a great experience, especially if, like us, you only have one day to take in the Châteauneuf region!Written 12 September 2023
- 604tarac0 contributionsGreat experience! So glad I booked this tour! We had an amazing day with Christopher at the wineries of Chateauneuf du Pape. He organized the whole day & gave us a range of different wineries. He was friendly, knowledgeable & was our resident photographer! My husband and I were so pleased. Christopher went above & beyond and helped make recommendations for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend this tour.Written 30 August 2023
- ljsherk0 contributionsDelightful day wine tasting in Chateaunuef du papeWe had a fabulous day with Christopher in Chateaunuef de Pape. We tasted many delightful wines, toured the area and surrounding towns and had a delightful lunch in a neighboring village. We highly recommend Ooh Provence for your next visit. We loved our day!Written 8 July 2023
- CAgirlqt0 contributionsAmazing Contemporary art Displayed in a vineyard! This is a worthwhile tour to take. I advise taking the first tour at 10 AM with a guide. We had an English speaking guide, who was extremely knowledgeable. This is an art project in progress. It seems that art is acquired on a very select basis and placed throughout the 600 acres of land, most of which is a working vineyard. After the tour, there are several restaurants where one can have a delicious meal.Written 9 June 2023
- ddcgines0 contributionsWonderful, stress free day in Provencene of the highlights on our recent Mediterranean cruise was the opportunity to spend the day with OohProvence and Christopher Curtis. After arriving in Marseille, Christopher picked us up at the cruise dock and we spent an amazing day exploring some of the less crowded areas of Provence--an olive farm, a farmer's market, a castle and some wonderful wine tasting. Chris was a great communicator (in English and French) and had some fantastic ideas for a wide range of activities that we would never have known about. He was also careful to get us back to the ship on time for sailing that night. I highly recommend OohProvence for your guide to Provence--luxurious and stress-free.Written 2 June 2023

- Shertraveler10140 contributionsDelightful Day in ProvenceMy husband and I spent the most delightful, memorable, and informative day with Christopher, exploring Avignon followed by wine tasting in Chateauneuf de Pape. He is a terrific guide who totally customized the day to meet our interests and needs. We look forward to returning to Provence and having Christopher as our tour guide to another part of the region.Written 14 May 2023
- lawriter580 contributionsAn excellent day in AvignonChristopher was the perfect guide— it’s like a friend showing you around their favorite city. He gave us just enough information to give us a sense of the history and culture, but not so much that we got overwhelmed. The Palais des Papes is a lot to take in during one visit, but he made it work beautifully. He also knows the entire region well and had good advice for our continuing exploration of Provence and the Luberon. We would happily take more tours with him and his company.Written 13 April 2023

We had the pleasure of spending 2 full days with Chris and all 10 of us loved it. We went to Cassis and Marseille on one day and 4 villages of the Luberon on the 2nd. Chris was just fantastic. He adapted to us very quickly with a very relaxed, likeable style. His knowledge was great and we all felt that were were travelling with a friend. When in Provence go with OohProvence. Thank you Chris and hope to see you soon!

My wife and I did the “day trip” visit to Cassis with Laurent of OohProvence booked thru Viator. We have to say Laurent was a wonderful guide and host for our private tour. He surprised us with extra stops at the Norte Dame de la Garde, a small fishing port in the 8th Arrondissment and a winery in the hills above Cassis.
Laurent was the perfect host for a wonderful 10 hour day.

Thank you for spending time with us. I enjoyed the day we spent together and I was so happy to read your kind words - very much appreciated. What we aim for on a tour like this one is to experience a little more than just Cassis and the Calanques, which are in themselves very beautiful, but captured with the backdrop of Cap Canaille, the wineries of Cassis and the entire bay of Marseille - we hope our guests leave having seen the best that this area can offer. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation - the itinerary you had sounded amazing! Hope you will find time to come back and visit us again, sometime in the future. Thank you again, Laurent @OohProvence.

We had a great experience touring Cassis with Christopher Curtis. We found him on the site Tours by Locals. Christopher met us at port as we disembarked from our cruise ship. We had a group of 14 with a mix of adults, teenagers, and children. Christopher had a clean, air conditioned vehicle waiting and took us to Cassis. He had arranged transport into the town, as large vehicles are not permitted to drive into the town. Christopher was very accommodating to all of our requests, and was flexible in the schedule. After Cassis, he took us to a spectacular spot overlooking the village to take pictures. He also took pictures with his camera, as he is a photographer, and emailed them to us after the tour. Once we returned to port, he arranged special transport back the ship for a member of our party who is handicap. All in all a wonderful day, and Christopher made it very easy. I would highly recommend him!

Thank you so much for reviewing our tours here on TripAdvisor. It was a great pleasure to meet you and all your family and to have the opportunity to show you a little bit of what makes this region so special. Cassis and the coast around is spectacular and I hope the photographs sent to you will serve as a nice souvenir of your visit. Hope to have the opportunity to welcome you all back again sometime in the future. Christopher OohProvence
