About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 258billw0 contributionsExcellent bike adventure! So relaxing and beautiful! The bikes were great and the app worked perfectly. I highly recommend this company and the experience. Breathtaking views, great wine tasting, and beautiful roads.Written 30 September 2024
- Seaside8016340 contributionsHighlight of South FranceWe absolutely loved renting our bikes from Sun-e-Bike. We chose the picnic option from Uzes. We are a family of 5 with our kids ranging age from 8-12. Each one of them really enjoyed the experience. It was a little scary getting out of the city with the traffic because of our youngest, but it didn't last long. The private bike trails were excellently paved and it was easy for us to follow the routes given to us. The man who we rented from was knowledgeable, patient, and kind. The highlight of this scenic ride was when we ended up at Pont du Gard for a picnic and dip in the water. Make sure you give yourself time to enjoy the water and wear water shoes. There are many rocks in the water that are uncomfortable to walk on. We had an excellent time and would do it again.Written 8 September 2024
- prpn0 contributionsNo good willThis company certainly showed us no good will considering we had travelled all the way from Australia to use their bikes. The handle bars were dirty and the pannier torn. No velometer provided and only one small plastic phone carrier which was not suited to a larger modern iphone. Main gripe was that this company was used by S Cape tours and we were to do a three day tour. On the second day, it was raining and we asked for the bikes to be transferred only 10kms from Les Baux to Saint Remy so we could ride the third day of our itinerary. Not only did they want close to $A100 to transfer the bikes the mere 10kms to Saint Remy where they are based and where our next hotel was located, but when we said we didn't want to pay such a transfer fee, they said they'd collect the bikes but we couldn't use them on the third day of our tour. Basically, we'd paid for the three day hire and only used the bikes for one. This company showed us no good will or understanding of our situation - we are active seniors and did not want to ride down wet roads and potentially ruin the rest of our two month stay in Europe with a slip or wet weather infection. We had just finished a brilliant bike and barge in Germany but the Sun E bikes company's bikes, service and experience were poor. Coming into the busy season, getting our bikes back 'early' meant they could perhaps potentially be hired out quickly again. It seems this company was not prepared to offer us any help and in fact, ruined our memory of this part of France. Word of mouth is powerful and we won't be recommending this tour.Written 25 July 2024
- Roving313755861160 contributionsYou must try this!!Cannot rate this experience more! My family and I had the best day exploring Saint Remy. Jeff was fantastic, so friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We met some amazing locals and tried their delicious produce. Thank you - couldn’t recommend you try this out more !!Written 2 July 2024
- avaudr010 contributionsGreat little adventureI was nervous as im not a very competent cyclist and in france you cycle on the opposite side to the uk. I needn't have worried. Superb quality bikes, very easy to use, and a straightforward route using quiet lanes and tracks. It added a bit of excitement to our holiday. Id choose a cooler day though, it was a little warm on the day we booked.Written 19 June 2024
- Nina C0 contributionsAmazing ride through Provence!Really awesome experience! Can highly recommend Sun e bike if you want to go exploring without a guide. The bikes were great quality and the route is beautiful and enjoyable with the electronic assistance. Would definitely do the light show again as well!Written 23 May 2024
- andyfish6780 contributions1 day MTB e-bike hire - excellent day out !1 day MTB e-bike hire The service was good and bike was excellent and powerful enough on the tricky and very rocky accents and descents on the Alpilles 12 route. Would suggest only suitable for confident MTB cyclists. The route mapping was very good but drains the phone battery so be aware - also need to concentrate and zoom in on map on some of the mountain sections - overall a great experience and time for a coffee half way. Would recommend.Written 23 May 2024
- X8726ORcatherinef0 contributionsSeamless booking from AustraliaBooked it online from Australia. Two ebikes for one week to be dropped off in Avignon and picked up 1 week later in Arles. Everything was seamless and easy. Best bikes we have ever had (Gazelle). Totally recommend this business. Book it with confidenceWritten 22 November 2023
- Curious642168222580 contributionsTwo wheels and funBikes are in good condition and the route takes you past many sightseeing spots and a great winery - good day outWritten 11 October 2023
- j2hamil100 contributionsWhat a great way to experience Provence! My wife and I and adult son rented e-Bikes from Sun-E-Bikes and did the "most popular" 50km ride which included the immersive art experience in the quarry and the ruins, finished off with a 1.5-hour ride back through the countryside. It was the best day we've had in Provence by far... such a blast. There were some good hill climbs, but the e-bikes make them easy to tackle. Traffic was minimal and respectful of cyclists. The guys at Sun-E were great to work with and their app laying out the course was very easy to follow.Written 7 September 2023
- Wanderer3256160 contributionsGreat day outWe hired two e-bikes and they were both in great condition. We completed a 60km ride with no complications. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Written 5 September 2023
- Crushed650 contributionsBeautiful way to get from Saint Remy to Carrieres de LumieresThe Carrieres de Lumieres was a highlight of our recent trip to France. Saint Remy is so beautiful and we took it all in whilst riding our E bikes to the exhibition. We almost didn't notice the hills! Sun E bike staff were very helpful.Written 26 July 2023
- Family-Soulsby0 contributionsE-bike hireSun-e-bike are a pleasure to deal with. They speak English and react quickly to requests and emails. We have hired bikes from them for a couple of years now and the equipment is always good. And more than that, the service is top notch. I couldn't recommend them more highly. Thanks guys!Written 16 May 2023
- 206carrier0 contributionsYay for e-bikes, Provence, and wine tasting! This was such a fun way to get out from Saint-Remy-de-Provence, see Les Baux, and visit a winery. The Sun-e-Bike team was super helpful. In the first few minutes of riding, my chain popped off and they quickly came to my rescue with a new bike. The winery they sent us to was lovely and the staff very friendly. The only issue we experienced was a misunderstanding of where the winery was located and that caused us a bit of a delay. So, make sure that all are in agreement of which way to head when leaving Les Baux. :)Written 17 April 2023
- bradsD1667PT0 contributionsstunning views and great staffRented on 3 different days, family day on e-bikes, then 2 people on road bikes, then 1 on a road bike. The bikes were good and the staff were amazing with fitting them and giving us good advice on routes. Climbing les Alpilles to Les Baux was excellent. Sebastian in the shop was especially nice and helpful. They even let me try to speak French.Written 17 April 2023

We booked a wonderful e-bike tour through the forests and countryside of Provence. It goes without saying that the area around Saint Remy and Les Baux is beautiful and impressive. The landscape can be explored excellently on the suggested back roads. Navigation on the tour is supported by an easy-to-use map app. Even our normally critical teenagers loved the trip and were even enthusiastic

We rented bikes to ride to Le Baux. It’s a pleasant ride though there were some cars and motorcycles that sped past us. I don’t recommend the ride for everyone. But five stars to Sun e bikes for their great service. We got there just as the store was going to close for lunch but Sebastian stayed anyway and explained how to use the bikes. We left and after thirty minutes into the ride we ran into a problem with one of the bikes. The electric part of it stopped working. I called Sebastian and he was there in minutes and fixed it—a wire under the seat had become loose. Such issues can come up but the important thing is that they don’t disrupt the day. We returned the bikes about 20 minutes late and there as no problem and he was very kind. All in all a good experience!

Great experience. Easy check-in and great bikes. We enjoyed the bikes so much we extended for a full day and were able to explore Les Baux-de-Provence and have a great lunch. Easy to navigate with the app.

It was a really nice experience to discover this part of Provence. The view was amazing and following the route with the RandoSmart App was really good. It was a solo ride and very easy to follow. The Carriere de Lumiere was wonderful. Totally recommended.

Really enjoyed this trip. Shame it was only half a day. The bikes were good quality and Sebastien was really kind and helpful. Carriere and Lumiere was spectacular and the scenery is stunning.
