    What to Expect
The small train of Croix-Rousse is running through this so atypical district. Lyon City Tram’s goal is to make you discover the “colline des Canuts” in a different way. Its design was not chosen at random, because it looks like the historical cable car of Croix-Rousse.
The tram with its panoramic roof will allow you to discover this village in the town and see the “Trois Gaules Amphithéâtres”, and admire several painted walls like the “Fresque Végétale Lumière”, the “Mur des Canuts” and the famous “Fresque des Lyonnais”. The tour lasts about one hour and is audio guided in 5 languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian and German.

It is a good use of an hour and value for money. A decent audio description of the history and views. If it is full it might be a tight squeeze however. I would recommend you book a specific time as you get priority. However...More

The tram is very cramped with up to 13 people in each compartment (and stifling in summer). You don't really see very well (the so called glass roof doesn't help at all) and frankly apart from the featured painted building and a rather sad scrappy...More

The tram trip was an excellent way to see Lyon for someone who has limited capacity for walking. Our only problem was that the speech portion of the audio tour was sometimes too low to hear, and the music was too loud. Nonetheless we really...More

You can get off as it stops for pictures of the wall painting. But new passengers are only supposed to embarque at the start. Getting back on would also be tricky as there could be no space.
