- K8899EDamyb0 contributionsPerfect ADA Friendly Wine Tasting Day!We had a lovely day with our guide Eddie! My husband uses a mobility scooter & they created a wonderful custom Rhône wine tasting experience that was ADA friendly. We learned so much about the region, & enjoyed learning more about wines & wine tasting. We also had a wonderful lunch at a winery. Eddie was so helpful & knowledgeable. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning & dropped off at the train station which made our day so easy. The history & country side was amazing. Look forward to going back someday.Written 13 November 2024

- julieaK1514UE0 contributionsIncredible Visit Through Northern RhoneOur tour of the Rhone Valley exceeded our expectations in every way. Mathilde was friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable (not to mention a fabulous driver through some very narrow streets!) She picked us up on time in Lyon at our hotel and off we headed for our first tasting. Mathilde's English is perfect and she is so knowledgable about the region and the wine. She surprised us with a breathtaking visit to the top of Hermitage hill accompanied by a delightful bottle of Rose. Lunch in Tain l'Hermitage was incredible and our final tasting. I highly recommend this company and will definitely tour with Mathilde again when we are back in the area! Thank you for a special, memorable day!Written 11 July 2024
- alicebB9885EF0 contributionsWonderful experienceWe had a beautiful morning spent with our tour guide Mathilde. She pick us, and a few other people up from the centre of Lyon. After arriving at the vineyard we got a tour of the vines and winery. The vineyard itself was set amongst the Rone hills with stunning views! Our host was excellent, translating from French - English for us. She was very knowledgeable on wines and the winemaking progress. Lunch was set in the vineyard ground with local dishes of meats, bread and plenty of other food to choose from. Plenty of wine and the opportunity to buy bottles at the end. Overall cannot fault, had a wonderful time!Written 7 July 2024
- 527heidid0 contributionsPerfekt turA super experience, with a gouide who spoke good English. Very nice lady who led us through an absolutely excellent tasting. Many wines and a good lunch, and an incredibly pleasant atmosphere at the vineyard. For us it was absolutely perfect with a stop at the top of the vineyards, lovely views and lovely fresh air. Just the right length of trip, not too far from Lyon. Can be recomended!Written 1 July 2024
- Jinlondon960 contributionsGreat wine tour.Eddy was an excellent guide and we tasted some great wines as well as spending some time on top of the Tain Hermitage with spectacular views.Written 28 June 2024
- seppor890 contributionsAmazing wine tourAmazingly super good guide, in-depth specialist in wine business. Very nice wineries, representative ones, not too big. When it was needed she solved translation problems of specific terminology, too. Lunch was best during our visit to France. In addition to know-how, she had very pleasant personality, positive, smiling, natural. AND added to all this - she was a super driver too; really!!Written 26 June 2024
- Moose7170 contributionsEnglish Tour defaulted to FrenchWe were a group of 7 (my husband had to stay home). The trip includes 2 vineyards. The first was lovely as was our host. The second was also nice. The guide was fluent in English and was lovely. Unfortunately, the tour company allowed a French woman with limited English in our English tour. As a result, we spent a lot of time listing to this woman talk to the vineyard owners in French while we all sat around. The tour guide tried to control the situation but it didn't work. It was unfortunate and made the whole thing underwhelming but we recognize it was not the tour guides fault.Written 23 June 2024
- michellemtrips0 contributionsSpectacular day in the Rhône valleyThis wine tour was so memorable. I believe that your guide can make or break these experiences and Mathilde really was fabulous. She was so knowledgeable about the area, the wines, the winemaking process. Plus she gave us lots of great tips for other tours and restaurants in Lyon. She was fun loving and friendly, bringing us a bottle of Vigonier to share on the hilltop overlooking the vineyards. There were two vineyards visited and we really enjoyed the tastings. We also had beautiful perfect weather which helped a lot but overall this tour was well worth the dollars.Written 13 June 2024
- Companion320242165000 contributionsWonderful day outOur group had Eddy as a guide who made the experience very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the area and also very funny. He was very good at breaking the ice in the group. We tasted 8-10 wines from two of the regions wineries. There were some whites, reds and a rosé from the region. We also learnt about the process of making the different wines and some history of the region.Written 7 June 2024

This was a fantastic event. Aniese (sp?) made the car ride out to the wineries really fun with a little “can you name this scent?” game and then was there to translate for us English speakers. She was knowledgeable about the region and wines. The wineries were welcoming and of course the wine was delicious.

I was recently in Lyon for a business trip and only had an afternoon free. Fortunately, one of my colleagues found this tour and it was perfect. Anais, our guide, was wonderful. She told us about the grapes grown in the region and took us to a very nice tasting room. Then we had another tasting on a hillside overlooking the Rhône. The wines were all great. Overall, it was a great afternoon. I would recommend this experience.

Two stops for the tour, one is up on the hill overlooking the Rhône river and the nearby vineyards, and we had a Syrah and a viognier among the group. Other stop is in a winery, where we sampled some wine and toured the facility. Great view, fun group, friendly guide, average wine. If there is not much expectations for wine, this is a good tour. But if you have some knowledge of wine, a stop to taste some better Syrah, like hermitage would be a nice inclusion.

I was a bit hesitant to sign up for this tour because there were no reviews, but it was very enjoyable. Our driver/guide (sorry, I don't remember her name) was pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The first winery was established in 1972; the second one in 2015. We had 4 or 5 tastings at each one. The only criticism was that the person who normally gives tours at the first winery wasn't there, and our tour guide had to translate so it was a summary of what was said. We got to go into the vineyard with the winemaker at the second stop and he did his best to speak in English with assistance from the tour guide.

While in Lyon on business, I had a small window to get out and see some of the sites. A definite place to visit is the Rhone Valley which is home to many interesting varieties of wine. Julie, our tour guide, is very friendly and knowledgeable on the local wine regions. We sampled over 6 wines at 2 different wineries. We also visited vineyards and several scenic spots on the drive to the valley. The tour was perfect for a traveler with limited time to visit France and this region. I highly recommend this tour and would use Rhone Trips again for another adventure!!
