What to expect
The highlight of your tour is Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace nestled on top of a rugged hill high above the village of Hohenschwangau, in southwest Bavaria. This stunning fairy tale palace was the inspiration for Disney’s "Sleeping Beauty" castle and it’s one of the most popular of all the castles or palaces in Europe, drawing 1.4 million visitors each year.  Skip the typically long lines to get inside and enjoy a walking tour of this medieval masterpiece. Explore rooms like Minstrel’s Hall, the Byzantine Throne Room, and many more. Learn about the castle’s architect, King Ludwig II of Bavaria, and explore the terraces, grounds, and gardens outside as well. After the tour, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride down to the village of Hohenschwangau. Take a walk around beautiful Lake Alpsee and enjoy the rest of the day on your own.

Great Tour!
Jul 2018 • Family
We are so glad we booked this trip! It made our trip so much easier. Franz was a great guide and made everything so easy for us. We met near our hotel in Fussen and were taken by a city bus to a transfer spot. We were then taken up to Mary's Bridge with an amazing view and then guided down to the castle in time for our tour time. The tour was incredible. We then had a horse ride down the mountains. The horses were running very slow that day so we did wait a while and missed our first bus back to Fussen, but easily got on another bus and so thankful I didn't have to think about any of this! I recommend booking a tour!

Fabulous Tour
May 2018 • Solo
What a wonderful tour. Peter was funny, informative, and really warm. Great guide for this dazzling castle. European Castles Tours takes care of everything for you so the excursion is smooth and enjoyable. All you have to do is show up and ohh and ahh at the castle. I honestly didn;t think I would be all that impressed with the castle but it really is magnificent. Peter made the whole experience come alive as well with his anecdotes and history. I am already looking at the website to find a tour for the Christmas Markets!! Book now, this group is the best and they sell out!!
