- BradJToonTown0 contributionsGreat tour, amazing sights, don't miss out!We booked this tour with the entry tickets to the castle and palace. The guide Deyse and bus driver were an excellent team! Deyse was informative and fun. The first stop was the palace, which initially we weren't sure we wanted to see, but were glad we did! The inside of the palace is amazing, and a very unique experience. Word of caution, althought this didn't diminish our experience the garden out front is apparently amazing in the summer time, but was understandably closed when we visited in March. We then stopped in a small town nearby with souvenirs and Italian Gelato! Very cool. The final stop was the Castle! A couple of tips, thr tour bus needs to park at the base of the castle, you can walk all the way, but it's a long and difficult trek uphill. There are horse pulled carriages as well. But we took a shuttle bus that was cheap and quick. That leaves you with some more walking, but not a ton. You can venture off to a beautiful bridge and lookout point (some of the hill climb there might be a bit tough for some). The castle is a sight to behold, being outside was incredible and the entry passes are so very worth it! We returned to the bus by walking down the road, which took about a half hour and was a bit long, but not too difficult for most. (Some might want to shuttle back down). Overall - I'd highly recommend this adventure!!Written 13 March 2024
- anoncata0 contributionsExactly what you would expect from this type of tour - no disapointment hereLovely day trip, Dayse the guide was an absolute sweetheart. Bus was comfortable, everything was clearly explained and gave a pretty good overview of what could have been a pretty dry tour! The driver was safe and pleasant to deal with too.Written 13 March 2024
- 857iarav0 contributionsNice organized experienceThe trip was really nice. An all day tour worth the time and the money. Everything was perfectly organized and timed. - anasofiag1050 contributionsAreal fairy tale castleIts amazing to see how big and beautiful is the castle, all the art that was precisely made, the mix of romanesque and gothic art is on point, reading some history about it is like, mind shocking how it was made because the king wanted to get out of the public after lossing power, imagine how would it have been if the castle was finished even though what was made took a lot of years, one bedroom could take around 3 to 4 years due to the details that the king wanted. This castle being insipartion for sleeping beauty and the swan lake shows us the impact it had with romanticism and the beauty of it.Written 7 March 2024
- mikecY4917SZ0 contributionsReally enjoyable tourSome amazing scenery especially with all the snow around. Neuschwanstein Castle was undergoing a lot of renovations internally so there was scaffolding in quite a few rooms and I do not recall seeing any mention of this on the website warning us of that fact. Bus was pretty comfortable and Deyse was an excellent tour guide. She was fun and has a great sense of humour and an asset to the company.Written 7 March 2024

- Rose M0 contributionsNice tourThe first part of the tour to see the old stadium and the FC Bayern headquarters was quite forgettable. There’s not much to see and even if there was, the windows on the bus were so fogged up that you couldn’t see out. The tour of the Allianz Arena was really well done. My son was thrilled to see the locker room and all the trophies in the museum.Written 24 February 2024

Great idea, poor execution. Facilities and coach were very good, the driver excellent, the tour guide could certainly have been better. While she tried to provide detail and color to the drive down it was repetitive and awkward. The tour line tries to push their agenda and affiliated tour stops hard despite them being of suspect quality. There are better options. The guide repetitively attempted to communicate the schedule however her recommendations are ere far from accurate and led to us missing opportunities to see all that was available. While not the tour companies nor guides fault, when entering Neuschwanstein’s main entrance the guard manhandled our 7 year daughter in a highly inappropriate way. Despite or objection and consternation the hairs laughed at our concern until we asked to speak with the main security supervisor. Throughout the entirety of the episode the guide stood by and watched, failing to intervene, assist in translation or attempt conciliation.
Overall, while perhaps others may have enjoyed their tour we cannot say we did and would be hesitant to recommend. Certainly do not spend the extra money on the premium tour as others have suggested - I cannot see what your extra expenditure reaps you.

This tour was not worth the expense. Our small group was 30 people and the tour bus was not panoramic. To start we arrived at the tour 15 minutes early and were hurried onto a tour bus and were shamed multiple times by our guide for being late. It was so bad that I had to ask another tourist if I missed a time change and they said “no, the tour guide just wanted to leave early.” My daughter and I were not able to sit together on the bus sine we were the last once’s to board. Throughout the tour our guide, Danielle repeated herself at least three or four times and gave worthless facts like “this restaurant serves fish because it’s next to a river and lake and that’s where fish come from”. Each stop was rushed and the stop in Obermannergau was totally worthless. There was plenty of time to explore Neuschwanstein, but we had to hurry back to the bus after quickly eating lunch and completing our tour. There was not enough time to explore Obermannergau and because we stopped there we had zero time to explore Liderhof. Again, our tour guide Danielle gave us worthless facts on the way to the castle and insisted that we stay together as a group and not explore the gardens on our own. She also bought one group ticket for the tour of the inside of Linderhof so our entire group of 30 people had to stay together which was too big of a group (our tour Linderhof tour guide even made comments that the group was too large). The final straw was the fact that Danielle told the Linderhof tour guide to hurry us back to the bus even though we had more time to explore the gardens. The only bright spot on this tour was our driver. He was nice, always had a smile on his face and showed empathy for all the hurrying. In the end, save your money and take a traditional tour bus because if you have Danielle as your guide you’ll wish you had not spent so much per person.

We arrived to the small group tour BEFORE the departure time, and the employee unapologetically told us that there weren't enough seats and that we would not be refunded. They gave away our seats to people on standby.
Even though we arrived before departure time, they rudely said that it was our fault and although we wouldn't be refunded, he said that the large group tour is "about the same." I don't understand why they would charge around +100 euros more per person for a tour that is "about the same." I've had better costumer service on tip-based walking tours and every other tour that I've ever done. Their priorities are clear given that they give your seats away before departure time and once you arrive, they simply do not care nor do anything to help.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We however sell tickets to stand-by passengers only after the scheduled departure time of 08:30 to ensure that all guests who arrive on time get their seats as booked. Therefore, we can only explain this situation that you might have arrived after 08:30 while the bus was still getting ready and just about to leave. We thank you for your understanding.

The small-group premium tour is worth the price. You get plenty of space on the bus. The tour guide on the bus was excellent, she provided great information and was very friendly and professional. The tour of Linderhof was beautiful, and included a live guide inside the palace. The stop at Oberammergau was a nice little treat. The premium tour takes you to Neuschwanstein castle first, which is very nice because you beat the afternoon crowds (which we saw when we left, the parking lots were packed). We were lucky and did not have any traffic in the morning so we had plenty of time to take pictures, our tour guide showed us the best spots for photo ops. (Have 3euro ready to take a shuttle). The only disappointment was the audio guide tour in the palace itself, it felt very rushed, but that was not a fault of this specific tour company, but is what every tour of the palace is.

We booked this tour after our two week guided tour couldn’t obtain entry tickets to Neuschwanstein. I looked at several different tours before settling on this one as giving the best value for the price-since it included transportation, entry to two castles, and a featured a small group. Everyone was very attentive and the tour was very streamlined without ever feeling rushed. Ursula, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and gave so much information about the castles, Ludwig II, and German history.

While there are multiple tours that include Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles, we are so glad we chose the small group tour. The bus was set up for comfort and for a 10 hour excursion, it was perfect. Carolina and Joseph were the best! Carolina shepherded the group through multiple stops, knowing who was missing with incredible skill. Very, very informative and insightful. Joseph drove through rain, traffic, narrow turns with ease. Impressive driving skills. It was a long day but we are so glad that we chose this tour- worth every cent!

My husband and I took this tour in July of 2018. We still think of it as one of our favorite tours that summer. The smaller size group was so much nicer than the double decker bus that boarded next to us, which held 80+ people. Also, the snacks offered on board were nice. It was more expensive than other tours offered, but this one included the entrance fees to the attractions, and we didn't have to wait in line and hope we had enough time to visit the castles before our scheduled departure. To us this is the only tour to take to these destinations.

Of all the Neuschwanstein tour options, take this one even though it costs a bit more. The Premium trip was delightful because there were only 24 of us on the bus. Lots of leg room, snacks/coffee on the bus, and we got to go into the tour sites/destinations before the larger buses off-loaded. You get to see Linderhof (castle tour included in the price), pit stop at Oberamergau, and Neuschwanstein (castle tour included in the price). Monika, our guide, and our bus driver were EXCEPTIONAL. FYI, the walk to Neuschwanstein is all uphill for about 30-40 min, depending upon your fitness level. However, horse carriage rides up/downhill are an option (for a fee).

We started the day with coffee and later on there were snacks, fruits, chilled water and beer to end the journey.
The seats are very comfortable, arranged singly and there is a toilet on board. The drive, smooth.
The first stop is Linderhof castle, 1.5 hours from Munich. The castle tour is short, 30 minutes, factually given. No photographs are allowed inside. We have 30 minutes to explore the garden and Martha, our bus tour guide, arranged to have the fountain turned on.
We next stop at Oberammergau, a very pretty Bavarian town, for a too brief 30 minutes.
We arrived at Neuschwanstein car park at around 1 pm. The castle tour is arranged at 3.10 pm. Martha told us to catch the local bus up the hill to the castle entrance, a 10 minute ride for €2 pp and to walk back. When the bus stop, we walk to Marienbrücke bridge for a picture of the castle, and then walk downhill for another 15 minutes to reach the castle courtyard. The castle tour is quite brief, 30 minutes, and with lots of steps up and down 4 floors. The castle rooms is decorated in medieval/ Ottoman style with the Music Hall, the most outstanding. No photographs are allowed.
After the tour, we only had time to take a photo of the stunning view from the castle balcony and to watch one short video screening before walking for 30 minutes, downhill, back to the parking lot. We depart at 4.30 pm and arrive back in Munich at around 6 pm.

Wow what great service from the start. Annetta and ZENOD were at the door welcoming us aboard for this small group tour. Annetta comfirmed out tickets welcomed us aboard and was very informative the whole trip. ZENOD the driver welcomed us aboard with coffee, water and light snacks if we wanted. Annetta then gave us many details on Munich the surrounding Bavaria and most of the all castles. Great conversation the entire trip with upcoming details as we strolled along. The first castle tour is a snail castle very intimate and guided. The second castle is much larger and extensive. The walking is more intense but manageable for this 54 year old couple and one of us with stability issues. Annetta again offered good dining options and spoke of our time details often. Overall a spectacular tour. Final trip home a beer was offered to celebrate the great day we just experienced. Nice touch !

Why do some people say the bus has two seats per window, and others say only one per window?
Did you meet the bus across from the train station? Was it on line?
Did you get to stop at Oberammergau?
We booked this tour for June 2020 so I am hoping it is worth the extra money for the small group.
Thanks for any info you can share....

Why does the schedule say Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday if I am able to book a a Saturday tour? Are these tours available on Saturday, June 13? Will the tour stop in Oberammergau like the information says....I see many people complain about not stopping there. Thanks for the info...

I cannot answer your questions.
I took this tour late last summer. We did stop at Oberammergau but only for an hour or so. I think they may use that stop as a time buffer...if they are late leaving castle Neuschwanstein, they may have to skip Oberammergau.
If I book this day trip, will I be able to come off at Oberrammergau? instead of returning to Munich. Please advise.Thank you.

Hi can you tell me if there is sufficient time to explore around the castle grounds and surrounding countryside? Can you skip the interior tour and do your own thing?
Ollie

Yes, you can certainly skip the interior of the castle and explore the castle grounds but you will not have time to visit the surrounding countryside. You only have a very limited amount of time to visit Neuschwanstein Castle before moving on to the next location so I would recommend visiting the bridge and Castle instead of roaming castle grounds. If you would like to visit the castle grounds and countryside without any significant time constraints I would recommend renting a vehicle so that you can explore the area at your own pace.

All entrance tickets are included in the tour price. At Neushweistein Castle (aka Disney Castle) the bus parks at the bottom of the road/path to the castle. You can walk (30mins), ride a shuttle bus (2-3 euros) & then walk about 15 mins, or ride a horse drawn carriage (3-4 euros) & then walk about 15 mins.
