Dachau Concentration Camp and SS Shooting Range Hebertshausen from Munich
From US$33.55
Overview
Avoid the chaos of public transportation, and visit Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site and SS (Schutzstaffel) shooting range in Hebertshausen by the comfort of an air-conditioned coach on this 6.5-hour tour from Munich. First take a guided tour of the memorial site, and spend about an hour and a half exploring the memorial and museum on your own. Then take a short 5-minute ride over to the shooting-range grounds where more than 4,000 casualties happened during WWII.
What to Expect
Meet your group, guide, and coach in central Munich in front of the Karstadt department store, across from the main railway station. After boarding your coach, sit back and relax on the 50-minute ride to Dachau.

Pass by the town as you make your way to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. At the memorial site, start by watching a documentary film about the Nazi camp, and then go on a guided tour. See old photographs, documents, the administration headquarters, areas where prisoners were held, and even the “Arbeit macht frei” plastered on the main camp gates. Gain a better understanding about the seriousness of WWII and the destruction the German Nazis had on their country and the world.

Afterward, set out on your own, and explore the museum exhibits, as well as other parts of the camp that interest you. Once about an hour and a half has passed, meet back at your coach for the short 5-minute ride to the SS (Schutzstaffel) shooting range in Hebertshausen.

The shooting range lies about 1.2 miles (2 km) away from the memorial site, and is rarely, if ever, visited by other tours. It’s the area where prisoners of war were executed by Nazi soldiers. Visit exhibits here, and learn more about the solemn Holocaust history.

Your tour ends with a ride back to Munich aboard your coach.

Please note: It's advised that you bring your own lunch, or eat during your free time at the cafeteria.

Necessary Evil (so not to forget)

This is a place that represents an evil time in history and that existed to exploit and exterminate (mostly Jewish) people; Dachau and all of the surrounding camps served pure sociopathic evil. It’s preservation is of paramount importance so as to not allow for opportunity...More

Heart touching experience - unforgetable

I visited Dachau camp on Sunday 23rd of September 2018. The tour was great and it really hit home to see how the Nazis treated the Jews and how the camp was used as a "school of violence". I have watched so many Hollywood movies...More

No words

No words can describe Dachau Concentration Camp. So I don’t attempt to do so. Stephon was a terrific Tour Guide. We also visited Hebertshausen shooting Range where 4000 Russians had been murdered in 1941-42. I do recommend this 6 hour tour. Say a Silent prayer...More

Moving experience

A well maintained museum which relates the horrors of the Holocaust in honest detail without prejudice thereby allowing each person to leave with their own views about events

Stunning. Every Munich visitor should visit this site.

This site simply cannot be described. A visit is emotional, shocking and scary, especially so in todays world of disturbing leadership, tribalism, racism and religious bigotry. This tour maximizes the experience with detailed information on the rise of Hitler and the subsequent development of camps...More
