You will not regret taking this tour!
I truly cannot imagine my time in Berlin without this tour. As a young solo traveler, this was definitely a splurge for me, but let me tell you it is worth the money and MORE!! Cliff was an absolute rockstar and not only educated me on the history of craft beer in Berlin and selected outstanding beers catered specifically to my tastes and preferences, but genuinely cared about getting to know me and making me feel comfortable. If you are a beer lover and looking for an amazing craft beer experience in Berlin, look no further. This tour absolutely made my trip and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone. Left this tour not only with better knowledge of craft beer in Berlin but with a new friend as well. BOOK IT BOOK IT BOOK IT!!

Not only for visitors of Berlin/Friedrichshain. Also for locals. Very friendly and enthusiastic guide explains all about German and general history of beer and the role of Berlin in this story. We liked it very much!

Fun alternative to a beergarten visit
This is a fun event not to be missed, even if you live in Berlin. ~3 hours of casual walk and beer tasting. Cliff is an entertaining and very knowledgeable guide. He took us through the history, taught us how to truly taste and judge the beer. We did 3 stops tasting a wide range of beers. Very pleasant and enjoyable. And, like I stated in the beginning, even if you live in Berlin you are bound to enjoy this.

An excellent insight to Berlin’s beer scene
I am not normally a beer drinker but loved all the beers we tried on the tour. The knowledge Cliff has about beer and the history of brewing is immense! I found him entertaining and very interesting. The bars were great and the extra history whilst walking about Berlin was fascinating.

Fun evening with beer and friends
We had a great time, drinking some local beer, nesting people from all over the world, learning how it is made and visiting one of the nicest areas in Berlin.

    Great to know craft beer
The guides Cliff and Anya are so cool and chilled people. They know about the process of beer, the history of Berlin and nice places to go for taking a nice beer. The respond with all patience to your questions and give you a lot of tips, facts and curious stories to the tour. I was looking for finding really good beers and the craft beer culture in Berlin… and I found it… not just the regular German beers of the Purity Law. Thanks for the experience !! Very recommended if you are really into the beer world.

    Informative & Fun!
As a birthday gift for my husband who loves beer- this was a great experience for both of us (for me as well since I've never been a big beer person). Cliff was energetic, patient, and an overall amazing beer expert who took all of our questions with ease and made the evening a blast! I recommend this tour to everyone visiting or just living in Berlin- there's so many hidden gems around this city!

The story of Berlin, combined with great beers!
The six of us spent the evening with Cliff, extremely knowledgeable about a lot of stuff. One night with him taught us why for instance it was Berlin that David Bowie moved to. We also learned about the difference between brewing lager and ales. Recommendable! A night to remember.

    Superb craft beer experience
Cliff led our small group on a fascinating tour of three of Berlin’s craft beer bars. His knowledge of brewing, beer history and the current beer scene is unsurpassed. Cliff is friendly and passionate about good beer and I learnt a lot about the burgeoning craft beer industry. As an aside it was also helpful for me as I am doing beer tasting / judging training back in the UK. Highly recommended.

    Great experience!
Though our tour group ended up only being my husband and I, we had an amazing tour with Eduardo. You try some (many) great beers and he really goes into it. He even gives you some historical context that really blows your mind. We had a great experience and he was also gracious enough to recommend some nightlife activities, with tips, for us to do over the weekend. He was great! highly recommend this tour.

Great way to spend a night in Berlin!
Cliff is incredibly knowledgeable about beer, beer history, beer politics, and all things Berlin. I learned a lot, had some great conversations, and came away with a much greater appreciation for craft beer and the city. Check them out if you’re in town!

One of the most interesting tours around Berlin, accompanied by an interesting guide and accompanied by tasty beer.
The trip was organized for 25 people and I think that I can say on behalf of most of them that the evening was successful and interesting. The beers offered during the tour surprised with their variety of flavors, and Cliff brilliantly created the atmosphere by telling interesting facts about beer crafts.
What to expect from the trip? Lovely atmosphere, lots of interesting facts about Berlin and beer brewing, and above all, the opportunity to try great beers!

We were in Berlin for business trip of the largest annual hospitality event. This year, the international event made a came back after pandemic hiatus.

It was our first trip together to Berlin, and husband put me in charge of activities to do during our week long trip. Having planned all the historical landmarks in our bucket list, I started looking in to some out of the box activities that is unique to Berlin.

And that is how I found the craft beer walking tour. And we were not disappointed.

We met with Clifton at a pizza joint in town where the owner brewed their own specialties in a cold Berlin winter. We started with a slice of warm pizza and a glass of the house specialty. I have to say that Clifton is such a story teller that will captivate you with his vast knowledge of general beer making history and the craft beer scene in Berlin. He shared many interesting story not only about beer but also about culture that makes Berlin special.

We really recommend his guided walk through the neighborhood and tasting delicious beer (as a bonus! haha). I am not a big beer drinker and I still enjoyed our guided tour. I also will not write everything on this review otherwise it would be such a spoiler. But I think everyone should have this kind of experience when they visit Berlin.

My friends and I had an amazing time on this tour. Cliff was an excellent host, not only was he full of interesting facts and history of beer in Germany, but also about the history of beer in general. We all learned so much and were fascinated by the information he offered, and felt really comfortable due to his laid back and friendly manner. He really made us feel like valued guests and made the afternoon feel like a social event rather than just a service! The wide range of beers we got to taste was fantastic, and all really high quality premium beers. I got to try types of beer I'd never even heard of before, such as a smoked beer, which was awesome. We also had some delicious pizza at the start of the tour. The bars Cliff took us to were really cool, so much so we went back to the area the following day, discovering more bars that we otherwise may not have found, thanks Cliff!

If you're visiting Berlin, and like beer, then it's a no brainer. Book!

Very expensive for the experience. It has misleading advertising, they don't give you a delicious snack. If you walk around and get to know the city and common side of communist Germany and the history of beer, it somewhat offsets the cost.

Upon meeting at the Warschauer Strasse station, the first thing Clifton does is help you navigate the complex u bahn system, and then, validated ticket in hand, you set off for your tour. While in transit, Clifton shared tons of interesting facts about German history and how it relates to beer. He talked about our itinerary and explained why he chose the particular places on the tour.

Stop #1 was for pizza, with a carefully chosen beer pairing, both of which were exceptional!

At stop #2, he patiently explained the steps of the beer making process and displayed unique visual examples of the few ingredients involved in brewing. I most appreciated the advice on how to properly do a beer tasting (you mean we don’t just chug them one after the other?)

By stop #3, the beer and the conversation are both flowing easily. Clifton’s passion is obvious, the depth of his knowledge is vast, and his enthusiasm is infectious.

At each venue, I was introduced to someone new and you can sense the camaraderie all around. In just a few hours, you have transitioned from strangers to friends and have been warmly embraced into a beautiful and welcoming community of beer lovers, each playing their part in crafting and sharing these special brews.

I can’t say enough about Clifton and the wonderful craft beer tour he has curated in Berlin. I would give SIX stars if I could. Five is simply not enough.

I booked this tour for my mom, who doesn't know much about the beer-making process or styles at all, and myself, a former beer blogger who has worked for three breweries. In addition to discovering spots I wouldn't have otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised to learn various things about beer history and other details I didn't know! My point being, this is a great tour for any beer lover, regardless of your familiarity with the process and history of beer. Beyond that, Cliff is a great host and *clearly* very passionate about craft beer and Berlin -- and sharing that passion with others. He was an engaged guide and fielded every last question we had. Would highly recommend to all!

We organized a private tour for 5 colleagues who were traveling for business in Berlin. Only one of us (me) was a true beer nerd - the rest were along for the ride. Michael was a fantastic guide - plenty knowledgeable about German beer history, the craft beer movement in general, and Berlin; gave the right amount of information and inspiration to keep the conversation going but also staying out of the way when the group was just riffing and clearly wanted to power with its own conversational steam. We visited Heidenpeters in the Markthalle Neun, Lager Lager, and the Muted Horn, and each establishment delivered - a couple of my colleagues were particularly taken by the Cantillon Fou’ Foune on tap at the Horn. Everyone had an excellent time and thought it was a spectacular afternoon (the Berlin weather in May was a particular plus). Thank you, Michael & Berlin Craft Beer!

It's totally worth it and the guide is extremely easy going and guides you to the sommelier experience in craft beer. Really a must if it is your first time in Berlin

I couldn't recommend this tour enough. It was informative, very thought through and has definitely made me interested
in learning more about craft beer.
It doesn't matter if you are an advanced beer "drinker" or not, there's something for everyone.
As well as learning about craft beer and beer history, you also get to walk around and see interesting places of Berlin.

Our tour guide Cliff captured all our attention with his passion, knowledge and personality. We were a group of 8 people from different parts of the world having the best time together.
Will do it again!

We had a great time checking out the craft beer scene in Berlin on this tour. Michael was an amazing tour guide and really knowledgeable about the industry based on his experience as a brewer in the U.S. and based on his time in Germany. There was no question we had that he couldn’t answer. Friedriechshain was a great neighborhood in East Berlin that truly felt local. As far as trip planning for the day, you can check out the East Side Gallery 30 minutes to an hour before the tour starts since it’s in close proximity to the meeting point.
