A scenic drive takes you through typical Hessian landscapes that most tourists rarely see. We reach Schloss Braunfels, which rises on a basalt rock and welcomes visitors from afar with its picturesque silhouette. Enjoy a guided tour of the most beautiful areas of the sprawling palace complex and its valuable collection: the impressive Knights' Hall with its weapons, tournament, war and hunting weapons from the 13. to 19. Century. Paintings, armor, sculptures and contemporary furniture. The courtyard and the cannon place. You will be impressed, there is so much to see. A tour through the beautiful old town of Braunfels with half-timbered houses, historic city gates and medieval defensive walls completes the relaxed tour plan.

I get why people like these day cruises now: Our Rhein day trip.
This was such a fun day trip to cruise the Rhein, eat lunch, visit the Germania monument, and sample local wines. The best part was our tour guide Willie. He was a hoot.

      Beautiful cruise
This is such a beautiful cruise!!! You get to see so much of Germany that you just can’t get to see if you’re only in country for a few days. The castles and countryside are breathtakingly beautiful and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was a little cheesy, but the food was GREAT I saw on other reviews that the wine tasting was about a tablespoon, that’s really not much of an exaggeration, but I didn’t book this for the wine tasting, that was just something extra for me.

      One disappointment after another
Should have read the negative reviews before booking… they were spot on. The food was bland and low quality, the restaurant had tacky souvenirs covering all the space on the walls, ceilings, and most of the floor. Navigating through narrow pathways to our tables in the bathroom felt like a challenge course. The only redeeming part was the boat ride down the Rhine with views of spectacular castles. The public ferry has a top floor where you can enjoy soaking in the rustic and ancient landscape of the Rhine Valley. After feeling refreshed from the boat ride, we were let down by being led back to the same restaurant we lunched. It got worse as we found ourselves in a smaller, more crowded room in the back for wine tasting. As per the other reviews, the wine tasting was cheap wine (€26-45 per bottle) in half filled shot glasses. The ice wine was the only one that was unique, but would classify it as a dessert wine. We left very ready to be done with the tour and head home. Overall, would not recommend.

      Fun day trip
This was an enjoyable tour and the boat ride was just long enough. The actual trip may not work out exactly as described but Michael did a good job keeping us informed. We had a great time seeing the scenery and participating in the fun activities.

Amazing and totally worth the money
It was all amazing, the drive was beautiful, scenic, fun, short and comfortable and with -AC, thank God. Everything was beautiful and perfect until on one of the last stops the group took pff on the wrong scenic lift and 90% of got separated, fortunately we stayed as a group and eventually found our bus but 2 singles never made it and we couldnt reach them and we missed our wine tasting :(. Moral of the story: stick together! And get drivers emergency contact info.

      Beautiful and worth it
This was a lovely trip and our guide, Michael, was fun and informative. We wanted to see castles on the Rhine and taste local wines, and were able to do both. We had beautiful weather and the boat trip was just long enough.

      Beautiful place
As someone who made Frankfurt our travel base for our trip - we were thankful for this tour. It is true the food was just okay and wine tasting mostly pointless but the tour guide was friendly & we got to see a lot. The bus driver was a safe driver as well.

      Wonderful Day Trip from Frankfurt
This was a very nice way to spend a day. Our guide, Michael, was fun and full of lots of facts. The boat ride along the Rhine provided beautiful views of many castles. We had great weather and it was very relaxing. The tour also gave us a chance to meet other travellers from all over the world which is always nice. The lunch stop was held in a very unique restaurant full of an outrageous amount of knick knacks. Any description would not do it justice. I would recommend this tour.

      Rhine on the Rhein
This was a very informative tour. Michael is walking encyclopedia who made the tour interesting and fun. Rhine Valley looked like it came right off the pages of a Fairytale with Castles included.

      Wonderful day on the Rhine.
We stayed at le meridian which made for a very easy pickup. The tour guide spoke excellent English and was knowledgeable and funny. Loved the little gondola ride before the boat. Lunch was in a quirky little restaurant filled with thousands of trinkets .. so fun. The boat was packed with many other tourists, so we weren't able to sit at the top deck. Great views of the castles and good narrative in English and German.

      Storybook village
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Boris is an amazing tour guide who spent the time to get to know everyone on the tour. Rothenburg was storybook beautiful and a “must see” location that would have been difficult to get to without renting a car. The tour brought us right to the edge of the old town and walked us around the main sites before giving us time to explore on our own. Highly recommend. Great for solo women as I felt very safe in this environment.

      Lovely but Cheaply Done
The cruise was lovely. Being on the Rhine and floating down the river was awesome. We saw castles and the countryside filled with grape vines and quaint German towns. The views of the river valley were beautiful. But we had to travel an hour from Frankfurt which took a majority of the cruise time for a half day cruise. I was unaware of that. Our tour guide was late and we had no way of knowing whether or not he was going to come. The Viator customer service number did not work. Thankfully another guide came for another tour and checked on his whereabouts. The tour itself seemed a little shoddy and cheap although we did have a good time. It included a dinner, but the dinner did not include drinks or dessert. You had to buy your own. And wine tasting consisted of four types of preselected wine with maybe a tablespoon or so of each in a shot glass while listening to the tour guide talk about German wines.

The castle is beautiful and the guide was knowledgeable. They have an English speaking tour. This is very inexpensive and there is a cute cafe and souvenir shop.
