What to expect
  • Meet your guide in central Granada, and set off into UNESCO-protected Albayzín, one of the city’s most historical quarters. Covering a hill facing the Alhambra Palace, this quaint neighbourhood forms Granada’s medieval heart, and consists of old Moorish and Andalucian buildings clustered around labyrinthine cobbled streets. Learn about Albayzín’s 11th-century roots, and meander through the picturesque lanes to admire the whitewashed houses with their flower-filled balconies, as well as churches, squares, and fountains. Pass landmarks like the old city gates and other Moorish remnants, and drink in panoramic views of the Alhambra atop the neighboring hill. Next, continue to the Sacromonte district to the east of Albayzín. This fascinating quarter is home to Granada’s Roma gypsies, who first arrived here in the 15th century, and is famed for its underground, rock-cut homes. Follow the cobbled path around the hillside, and see some of the traditional caves where gypsies and others still live. Many are now flamenco bars and tiny museums that showcase the traditional lifestyles, arts, and handicrafts of the original cave dwellers. Admire the city views from here, and after 2.5 hours’ exploring, bid goodbye to your guide, bringing your tour to a close.

Very nice guided walk
Our tour guide was a young and dynamic lady who showed us around very beautiful parts of Granada at a good pace. The history-telling was not overwhelming. We had headphone sets which make it comfortable to listen to the guide. Our children really enjoyed the walk. Highly recommended.

Excellent guide and tour. We had the evening tour with a splendid sunset looking over Granada. For those with any physical problems it is a bit hard.

Fun and interesting tour of albaicin and sacromonte
Oct 2018 • Couples
Our guide,Teresa kindly offered to make the tour bilingual for English speakers, even though we knew it was booked as Spanish (it was all that was available). We really enjoyed discovering the history of the area and exploring new parts. She was very friendly, helpful and approachable. We came away feeling we'd not only had an enjoyable afternoon but made new friends too. Highly recommended, despite the steep climbs!

Great guided tour!
Sep 2018
As with most tours, it is the guide who makes or breaks the tour. Ours was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun. We walked for almost 3 hours covering these 2 fascinating areas.
