- 16teresitag0 contributionsWas worthyWe were a small group of 6 and had no lines. Excelent tourist guide and very interesting visit since the story was very well toldWritten 12 September 2024
- phiphis20160 contributionsHorrible audio guideAudioguide lamentable in French the previous comments already mentioned this problem for years and I see that no effort has been made. The accent and the pronunciation of the reader make certain words totally incomprehensible we are absolutely obliged to read the text. In addition this text uses a lot of repetitive and uninteresting sentences. The points commented are very succinct compared to the official guide. This audioguide is a minus value. The purchase of this tour is only necessary when the official tickets are unfortunately no longer available while they still have them at this price? Where is the mistake? In conclusion to do if possible ( one page of the french audioguide is in english ) Fortunately the Alhambra is wonderfulWritten 8 September 2024

He was also very accommodating to our friend in a wheelchair, proposing alternate paths. The Alhambra itself is gorgeous and definitely worth visiting. I would recommend trying to go in off hours if possible as it does get very busy.Written 2 September 2024

- Sunshine483210012760 contributionsFantastic day at a UNESCO site with a great guideFirst booking with Viator and it was very easy. Our driver picked us up at the port and we had a comfortable private shuttle ride to the tour office. Our day was spent with a small group and we had a wonderful tour guide Carlos Fuentes to take us through the Alhambra. We appreciated his overall knowledge, not just of the history, but also of the related architectural, mathematical, and artistic aspects of the site. He did a great job and our family enjoyed our time at the Alhambra, Generalife Gardens and Granada thoroughly.Written 17 August 2024

The history from the Moorish period of Spain permeates the Alhambra. So much to see at the palace you could go 2 or 3 times. I will go again to explore more.Written 24 July 2024

Our tour guide, Alba, made the beautiful surroundings of the Alhambra come alive with her deep knowledge of history, art and architecture. Of particular note was her personal knowledge and experience of the Alhambra Islamic history, language and religion. It is clear that not every guide has this capacity and Alba shared this with a passion that went far beyond any of our expectations. You absolutely must ask for her for this tour.

We just finished a marvellous 3,5h of guided tour with Hamdi Tawfiq, our guide at Alhambra. He was very professional, explained in a very detailed, yet engaging way for all of us (4 adults and 4 kids between 10-14 years that absolutely didn’t want to come at the first place). Even though it was 40C , he hold us interested the whole time! Amazing! Definitely recommend him as a guide !

We decided that Alhambra was our top priority to visit during our four week stay in Andalucia and thus decided to take a small group private guided tour for two of the complex at a. cost €200.Organized tours can be mayhem with a mixture of international tourists with different objectives and rhythm which can slow down the tour considerably with multiple distractions that the focus can then be lost and you have the issue of compliance with social distancing and a scramble to be at the front.
It was a smart decision in spite of the cost as we had an unhindered visit of over three hoursat our own rhythm and could answer any number of questions
The benefit of Granavision Excursions are they are at the entrance to the complex which is a major benefit.
We were fortunate enough to have GUSTAVO as our guide who had been in the business for 20 years and was incredibly knowledgeable as he was equally passionate after so many years. He was professional and engaging and no number of questions was a problem to him.It made our visit enlightening in every way
We chose to go early 0930 hrs to avoid the crowds particularly within the palaces- even then it was crowded and you are talking October and a marked reduction in numbers due to covid pandemic and restrictions.

We chose to go on a small group guided tour of the Alhambra and were very pleased with this decision. Alberto was a very engaging and knowledgeable guide and the small size of the group enabled him to talk directly to all of the people on his tour making it a very personable and intimate experience. Also due to the small size of the group we were able to move through the buildings and grounds at our own pace dodging the large crowded groups. Alberto's descriptions of the history of the Alhambra and Generalife flowed throughout the tour with a very good balance of information, anecdotes and responses to our questions. Highly recommended, especially taking the tour in March as the number of people inside the complex was not overwhelming. Thanks Alberto!

The whole experience was amazing. The Alhambra was even better than we expected. The fantastic combined use of Muslim arquitecture and Christian symbolism creates an impressive citadel, full of history and amazing sights. Our guide, Felipe was great. He knew everything about Granada and the Alhambra, he was funny and very open to questions. Excellent.

This was one of the highlights of our tour of Spain and was made even more special by our guide Fernando.
We were in a small English speaking group which Fernando truly guided rounded the Generalife and Alhambra sites his knowledge and delivery in faultless English gave the background to the the history of the buildings and the way of life within them. We were given time to absorb the surroundings without feeling rushed in any way. He pointed out particular photo opportunities again giving time to take the "memorable" shot and arriving at the timed entry sections without hassle.
We had a wonderful time and couldn't recommend this experience highly enough.

Visited during an unusually very rainy March day, with most of the fountains switched off due to silt build-up from the unprecedented sandstorm that hit Granada a few days earlier. HOWEVER, our guide Andy did his upmost best to still give us a fascinating and worthwhile visit with a level of knowledge and detail far above what I was expecting.
Every member of staff inside the Alhambra complex seemed to know and like Andy and he certainly had the right passion and attitude for the role. I believe it was him alone that ensured my visit was a positive experience despite the very unlucky timing / conditions. Everyone else in the tour also seemed highly satisfied.
Side note - I did not take my actual passport / ID thinking a photo on my phone was enough. It was not, but Andy quickly and professionally took me to the ticket office before the tour started to sort out the issue.

This tour was really made great by the guide, unfortunately I can't remember his name, but he is also a farmer, very knowledgable not only about Alhambra but Spanish history, crafts and agriculture. Some of the facts and anecdotes he told us felt very unique to our group and not the stock Alhambra experience. The pacing seemed perfect, I was able to take a lot of photos and didn't feel like I had to go back through it at the end. It was not too crazy busy in November, also the guide gave us a good tip that the mornings are full of tour groups but if you come back in the after 4pm it's completely quiet, and your ticket gives you all day access. I also liked at the start of the tour that the meeting point is at an office space where you can get a coffee and use the bathroom and sit before the tour starts (better than meeting up at the entrance).

Me and my web partner Ivanildo were on Granada making a promotion of our enterprise, and we decided to visit the Alhambra and the Generalife. Alba was our guide.
She explains very well and this is not very common. Indeed she is specialised in the subject, in fact she has studied arabic language, and she is also doing her PhD thesis research in a related subject.
It is very difficult to keep the interest and attention of the audience in a 4-hour visit. Essentially, Bravo ! If we should qualify her today, we would give her a grade of 8 in a scale from 0 to 5.
The final grade of the whole experience is only 4/5 because the Alhambra and the Generalife were today too crowded, practically saturated.
Bravo again, Alba.

Our family (from the Netherlands and the US) had a fantastic morning at the Alhambra with Hamdi Tawfiq as our expert guide. With his deep understanding of culture, history and languages, Hamdi was able to give us a very interesting and detailed account of both the Spanish-Christian as well as the Islamic elements of the Alhambra palace, in all its splendor. Hamdi pointed us to intricate decorative details and provided us with unique insights into the life of the Sultans and Kings at the Alhambra throughout the centuries. The royal palace, gardens and fortress complex truly came to life for us. We highly recommend Hamdi T. as your tour guide!!

Hola! en qué consiste la guía? es un recorrido explicado por una persona que te va guiando? o es una audioguía?

Do I I have to bring headphones for this tour? Or are headphones provided? Or just not needed?
Written 30 August 2022
They give in-ear headphones for adult sized ears. If you have children or are uncomfortable with in-ear phones, I'd recommend bringing your own pair.

The description on TripAdvisor says this is a 3 hour tour, but the times in the itinerary add up to 5 hours 15 minutes. What is the actual tour duration?
Written 20 June 2022
It was a three hour tour and that included time for photos, toilet visits and a few other stops due to the 35 degree temperatures.
Written 20 June 2022
We are staying at the Alhambra Parador arriving at 12:00 on Monday June 13. We have already purchased tickets. Is it possible to meet the tour at the site?
Written 11 April 2022
I believe it states on your ticket where you have to go to check in with your group and meet your guide and get your your ear buds.

If I sign up for this tour, is the tour in English only? Some of the reviews made it sound like some tours are given in multiple languages.
Written 10 December 2021
The same company do guide led tours in different languages - you just need to pick the language that you are comfortable with. They also do audio tours with different language options
