The magnificent Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Cordoba’s most visited attractions. On this day trip from Seville, save an estimated two hours with skip-the-entrance to both the Great Mosque and the Alcazar of the Christian Kings, and enjoy an optional walking tour of historic Carmona.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your central Seville hotel and a transfer by air-conditioned coach or minivan to Cordoba. On arrival, head straight to the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba and use your skip-the-line tickets to sail past the long queues and gain priority access.

Follow your guide on a tour of the mosque, admiring its distinctive Moorish architecture and beautiful mosaics. Hear all about its fascinating evolution, from Roman temple to church to mosque, and learn how its varied background has influenced its unique design.

Stroll through the narrow lanes of the Jewish Quarter to visit The Alcazar fortress, once the home of Christian kings. Continue along atmospheric Calle de las Flores into the center of Cordoba, where you’ll have free time to browse the shops or enjoy lunch (own expense). If you choose to visit Carmona, spend the afternoon enjoying a walking tour of the historic city.

Finally, return to Seville, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Nice Day Trip

I had originally considered just taking a train to Cordoba, but I’m glad I didn’t. This was about the same price, and you got plenty of information about the town and the Mosque. The guide was very informative and friendly.

The mosque and old Jewish section of Cordoba are fascinating. But Sevilla has plenty to see and with only 2.5 days, it depends on how much you want to push yourselves.
