About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kategM1997GS0 contributionsAlcazar 13/09/2024 Amigos Tours (with Hector)Hector kindly accommodated our unusual circumstances of having less time available to complete the tour than originally planned. We found out on the day that our coach back to the cruise ship was due to leave earlier than advertised. This meant we only had a very short time available for our Alcazar tour. Fortunately there were only the two of us from the same party on the tour and Hector adapted the tour to enable us to see the highlights. His excellent English and historical knowledge made it possible to meet the challenge of guiding us through at pace. Thank you Hector - you were amazing and we were very happy👍Written 13 September 2024

We had a tour with Hector, who was a fab tour guide, very patient with everyone’s questions, and considerate that all were included in his knowledge-sharing. His English was exceptional and he spoke very clearly, using a nifty intercom-type thing which worked effectively throughout our tour. There’s so much to learn and appreciate about the Alcazar, its royal connections, and its history, and Hector brought all its fascinating stories to life. The tour lasted just about an hour, and then we had a break of 15 mins before we started on the Cathedral tour, again with Hector. I’d have preferred it the other way round, on reflection; we’d have preferred some more ‘leisure time’ in the Alcazar after the formal part was over, but having finished in the cathedral, we couldn’t return. The climb up the Heralda is rewarded with a great aerial view of Sevilla, and wasn’t a huge exertion. For anyone less fit than us (!) there are several roomy alcove windows - some even have a place to sit too - you can take a quick pit stop and revive your weary legs. Overall, highly recommended; Hector’s mum - also a tour guide in Sevilla - has clearly taught him well, and you’ll enjoy the couple of hours spent learning from him.

This was a very disappointing experience. The tour was advertised to be 75 minutes in length, but as it started at 3:15, 15 minutes late, and ended at 4 o’clock it was a 45 minute tour. When I brought this to the attention of the operator, she seemed surprised. The guide herself was not very professional, and as I had toured the property a year before with another friend, I found myself providing commentary that she missed. I would not recommend this operator or this guide.

Saint Hector the Knowledgeable!
We had the most excellent time! Hector was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and so much fun. The cathedral was stunning and we learned so much history. He knew all the right places to set up so that we had great views and space while he explained things. He answered all our questions- even those only tangentially related to the cathedral. His English was outstanding and he was easy to hear and understand

A very worthwhile tour. Lots of information but not too much so to be overwhelmed . We would have missed so much had we just visited and looked at items not knowing what they are. Hector was very interesting, he spoke perfect English and had humour in the tour ,which was appreciated. The arrangements for meeting were straight forward and hassle free.
The only thing which could be improved would be the ‘pre- visit’ information. It stated wear suitable clothing. A few of us, myself included needed to buy a scarf to cover our shoulders. This delayed us starting and had to queue at the admission kiosk.
A simple instruction saying you must have your shoulders covered ie, no vests or strappy dresses etc would have prevented the delay.
At the end of the tour you can continue to look around and go up the bell tower. This was amazing and worth the climb up. Highly recommend this tour and 10/10 to Hector for the tour information!

Understanding that the tours are subject to the schedule of the church, we were horribly disappointed when our tour was suddenly cancelled and no timely reschedule options were available. The church did open that day at 2 pm and the next. Hundreds of people were standing in lines and tours were conducted. I would have expected that the Tour company would arrange an alternate solution rather than just leaving us high & dry.

This tour was promised to be an EARLY ACCESS tour -- the truth was that the Cathedral open to the public at 11:00 and we met our guide at 11:45. By the time we got into the Cathedral (we were in a group of 18), it was 12:00. That was problem #1. Problem #2 was that the tour was given in 2 languages by the one guide, meaning that every sentence in one language was followed by the same sentence in another language. This was very distracting, as you had to tune in and tune out constantly, not to mention the fact that we literally could have heard twice as much information if the guide spoke the one language that we signed up for. I blame Amigo Tours for this, not the guide, for trying to make a profit at the expense of the customers AND the tour guide. If you do this or any tour with Amigo Tours, be sure to get what you pay for. Ascertain that you indeed get early access to the attraction, and that the tour is given exclusively in the language for which you signed up.

My adult daughter and I learned so much on this pleasant tour led by Vincent. The Cathedral history and construction is amazing and our independent walk up to the top of the tower was easier than we expected. Well worth every penny. The gift shop is great too.
The best start to a visit to Seville.

Hi I am confused about the early access tour - I would like to book for the 11th May but the tour starts 45 mins after the cathedral opens ?
Written 1 May 2018
I am not sure why they call it early access. One thing for sure was that we had easy access to get in. Even as a group, we were able to by-pass other groups to get in faster.
