    Stop: 12 hours
You will begin the day with a hotel pickup and a beautiful and relaxing drive to the port town of Tarifa where you will board a ferry to Tangiers (local payment €80 PP). Enjoying the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean and keeping a lookout for the dolphins that often accompany us. Upon arrival in the Tangiers you will be taken on a sightseeing tour, in and around the city. You will witness not only the older and more historical sites, but also how the influences from outside have shaped this city into a modern and thriving hub of commerce and trade. We will drive along the Atlantic coastline to Spartel Cape, the most North Western point on the African mainland, and one of the focal points of Tangiers. The lighthouse was built in 1864 as part of the international agreement zone, cooperatively with nine European nations and the American and Moroccan government. Continuing along the Atlantic coast we stop at what is know as Hercules cave, these caves date back to the Neolithic period, the cave is partially man-made and natural. The construction of these caves is a marvel of engineering, considering the crudity of tools that these people would have had at the time, and leaves us wondering, did they have help? You also have the option at this time to take a ride on a camel along the beaches. Returning to the city we stop for lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant, enjoying the diverse and very flavorful and typical cuisine of the region (local payment €15 PP). After lunch we will begin a walking tour of the city starting in the Kasbah, with its beautiful museum (The sultan’s Palace), giving you an insightful look into the history of the area from prehistoric times to the 19th century. After which we will show you to the Medina, where you will experience a typical Moroccan market, getting to interact with the friendly locals and perhaps also visiting a local bakery. Prior to heading back and board our return ferry we might have some free time to shop for some souvenirs, take some last minute photos or perhaps just relax and have a drink. Once we arrive back in Tarifa we will return to Seville and drop you off at your hotel to dream of your Moroccan adventure. Details: • Schedule: Monday to Sunday at 8:00 • Duration: 12-15 hours • Group size: 1- 8 people • Meeting point: Hotel pick up

The extra mile above and beyond
Mar 2020 • Couples
During the Corona virus issues Morocco decided closed their port to Spain 03/12/2020. Our guide and drive went WELL above and beyond to make sure we made it back to Spain. NO WORDS here in this review can't explain the turmoil we witnessed during this border closure and how both the guide and drive took control to secure transportation for us back to Spain.

Dear Steven, I am so glad that Morad and Ahmed from our small team at Not Just a Tourist Tangier could solve this very unusual situation and get you safe and sound back to Spain. They were quite intense hours for all of us and I am glad we could solve that. I wish you a safe journey back home and hope to have you back in Spain in easier times for everybody!

Quick trip to Morocco
A very quick trip to Morocco. Early morning pickup by our driver Valdo, 2.5 hour drive to Tarifa, Spain, 1 hour ferry and you are in Tangier. Meet by our guide Bashir and our driver Achmed. Drive through the city to Cap Spartel, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic Oceans, beautiful views and on a clear day you can see Gilbraltar.
Next to the Caves of Hercules where they found cuts showing mill grind stones from 4000 years ago.

From there back into the city and yes we hit the Casbah!

Wandered through the old streets, had a great tour of an old mosque turned into a museum, watched them bake bread in the communal ovens of the village bakery. Had a marvellous traditional lunch at La Terraza De La Medina. Traditional harira soup, a savory Moroccan soup made with dried legumes — lentil, chickpeas, fava beans. Then a tangine of chicken and an other of chicken, couscous and vegetables. All delicious, finishing with mint tea and a sweet pastry.

Next a wander through the Souk in Medina. A little bargaining a little shopping, some small trinkets, all good.

Back to the ferry terminal and a reverse trip back to Seville. A very long but enjoyable day! All arranged through Not Just A Tourist

SO WORTH IT!
Dec 2019
We booked this tour through Get Your Guide- who then connected us to Not Just a Tourist. While I wasn't exactly sure what was happening (communication isn't the same). Was so happy that they did. The trip went like clock work and was worth every penny. The 2 1/2 hour drive to the port was easy and beautiful. While our driver didn't speak any english, it didn't matter. We were well cared for. He checked us in at the port and guided us to security. The ferry ride was extremely comfortable and pleasant. Also- fast! In Tangier, our guide Bashir met us. He was THE BEST! Loved him. Tangier was so unique and such an excellent experience. So happy to have experienced it. A day trip of a life time. Definitely recommend it!!

Hola! We are so glad you enjoyed the Tangier Day Trip from Seville, felt comfortable with our amazing drivers (the best at Spanglish!) and enjoyed the tour with Bashir! You are right, Get Your Guide communication can be very confusing which is why we personally get in touch with all travelers. Please visit again for longer with Not Just a Tourist!

A Wonderful Way to Experience Tangier and Local Activities!
Nov 2019
Thank you for helping us plan our activities!

The planners and tour guides should did a fantastic job. We booked a lot - bike riding, horseback riding, tapas and flamenco, Tangier - and everything was literally seamless and perfect. We can’t thank Sarah enough for her help in planning everything, and how responsive she was after we arrived in Sevilla.

All of the guides were wonderful. As far as Tangier, Enrique escorted us down to Tarifa and on to the ferry. Once in Tangier we were greeted by Bashir who was the most amazing guide. He's so knowledgeable and friendly. It was such a great time. We probably saw more in two days than many people would see in a week. Safe, fun, beautiful, interesting, all with amazing food!

Whenever we have friends who are planning a trip to Spain, we will send them your way!

Hola, first of all thank you for chosing us and we are very sorry that the costs were not clear to you. The local payment is clearly stated in the description under the exclusions the section as we do not want any clients to have to pay unexpected fees. I am sorry you must have missed this. The local payment is for the lunch and the ferry and is not included in the price to keep overall prices and taxes down. We believe the overall price of the trip is stil very competitive and our proud of the service we offer. We hope you had a fantastic day despite this with our team! Gracias!

Perfect day
Nov 2019
We were picked up by our driver on time. He got our ferry tickets and was wonderfully efficient even though his English was sparse. The trip over had good views of Gibraltar and your instructions about getting in the customs queue straightaway removed any time stress.
I could not say enough about our guide Abdul. He was gentlemanly, professional and not a single 'hawker' troubled our group of 3-my daughter and I and an American lady. The views from Cape Spartel were magnificent and the Caves of Heracles stunning. Again we were not bothered by sellers and the bathrooms were clean.
After a lovely walk through the Kasbah and museums we had a tasty 3 course meal at a restaurant overlooking the harbour. Again, more clean bathrooms and a good view. In the medina there was no pressure to buy and if we chose to go into small shops, Abdul kept others out. Abdul did not leave us until my daughter and I had gone through the glass doors of the ferry terminal. Our trustworthy driver was there in Tarifa to meet the two of us just where he said he would be. Yes, this trip was a little pricier than others but like everything in life- you get what you pay for-no large groups, great personal service and a great day. Thank you Abdul and Enrique

Great Experience
Oct 2019
Sorry this late but we took the Seville to Tangier trip on 10/14/19 and had a really good time. The worst part of this experience was my anxiety that we get all the way to Seville and somehow miss this trip. Masah was very patient with me, she answered my text messages in a timely fashion and that helped chill me out (thank you Masah). We were paired with a family from California and they were great to have along with us. The ride to Tarifa was nice. Enrique, our driver was extremely helpful. He got us to the ferry on time and went inside to make sure we had our tix and got us through the checkpoint to get on the ferry. And the best part is he didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak Spanish but he took good care of us! We got to Tangier and met up with Bashir our guide. Bashir was awesome, full of info and took time to explain things and answer questions. Bashir got back to the ferry after a very interesting day in tangier and Enrique was there to get us back to Seville. Great trip! We also took a trip to Portugal with the help of Not Just a Tourist. This was also a good trip. There was no guide for this trip but our driver Luis (awesome by the way) took us to some sites we wanted to see and then back to Seville. I recommend Not Just a Tourist. They helped make our vacation very special! Thanks again!

LOVED Morocco and our Tour Guide but not happy with Not Just a Tourist
Oct 2019
Where to begin. We booked this trip LAST minute. However, Trip Advisor stated it was instant confirmation and we felt comfortable looking at the reviews to take this chance. And of course, we could always get our money back through Trip Advisor or my credit card insurance if something went wrong with the trip. We paid $556 USD for this trip for 2 people. A little expensive but when we saw what was included we thought the price seemed fair. Daria with "Not Just a Tourist" emailed me with specific instructions. I thought that was great! As I kept reading, I noticed the possibilities of more expenses being brought upon us that we were not made aware of. Examples: If the ferry was delayed, we would have a 20 euro charge, if the ferry changes from Tarifa to Algeciras it would be a charge of 40 euros OR MORE. We had to have this in CASH. I quickly got a bad feeling about this trip but decided to go for it since my credit card company has insurance up to $1,500. We emailed back to add the camel ride and lunch and received another email telling us we owed in addition to the lunch and camel a total of 178 euros per person. We the nreceived a lengthy explanation of why this wasn't included in the original price. I went back to look at the description and it mentions a 74 euro fee of local payment but I had no idea what that meant. My boyfriend and I were quite upset because they told us about this less than 24 hours before our trip and at that point we could not have cancelled for free. Now I realize it is on the website but it is vague and I think the company should change their description to include all of the fees so people understand the total cost of the excursion. Aside from that fiasco (which by the way, 4 other women had issued with Not Just a Tourist, our guide Bachir was AMAZING. Our driver to and from the ferry was wonderful as well. Bachir was so knowledgeable and took us to different parts of Morocco including caves, where the Mediteranian meets the Atlantic ocean and to a wonderful lunch spot. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this man. His English was great as well. We had a wonderful time aside from my anxiety from dealing with the money from this trip. All that I ask is the description gets update better to include the price of 74 Euros in the not included section as well as the price of lunch and the camels. We were taken back by the surprise expenses. but Morocco is beautiful and I would love to go back again!

Hi Jackie, I am very glad that you enjoyed this beautiful day in Africa with our team and especially with Morad. We try hard to hire and train the best guides and monitor them closely as we know they would be the best ambassadors of their cities or even the countries. And Morocco is indeed one of the most amazing destinations ever! I am sorry if the tour description on Tripadvisor did not appear clear to you. I understand that when we book a tour or any services we need to read carefully what is included and what not and this is listed all under inclusions and exclusions. Maybe being a last minute booking as you just said you oversaw it. We also tried to explain that with all the details in our "lengthy' email that some payments have to be made locally and actually this way you save commissions and fees. :) Regarding the information about the possible ferry cancellations, I consider that we are one of the very few companies that take the time and advise their clients with full details about every single detail and possible things that could affect their trip so that they have all the information and can be prepared as best as possible. If we mention the possibility of the ferry being canceled it is because we know that there is a slight chance that this happens (just like flights) and we would like to let them know that with valid travel insurance this can be easily avoided. In my opinion, this is an extra service and a nice gesture we offer to ensure a safe trip rather than something negative as we don't want our guests to loose money or precious time and worry by not having travel insurance. I hope this explains a bit. I wish you safe trips and we would be happy to have you with us again in Morocco to explore the wonderful south, the deserts and the dunes with travel insurance of course! ;) Mahsa

Day trip to Tangier...completely worth it!
Oct 2019
I'm not really a "tour" person usually and prefer exploring on my own, but I booked with Not Just a Tourist because I only had one day to explore Tangiers. I'm so glad I did. Everything was awesome. Morad was so knowledgeable and I learned a lot about the city and the history of Morocco in general while having a great time and seeing some incredible sights. I loved the small group atmosphere, felt more personal than one of those larger tours. I'm so glad I chose to go on this day trip. Highly recommended!

A wonderful way to see Tangier
Aug 2019
My husband and I did this trip recently and don't have enough good things to say about it. We received great instructions on the itinerary of our trip from the very beginning. We had a fantastic professional driver pick us up from a short walk from our hotel, and then caught a ferry to Tangier. We didn't realize we would essentially be on a private guided tour. We were met in Tangier by our guide, Hassan, who was super knowledgeable about Moroccan history and culture. We were driven around to some picturesque spots and even took a camel ride on the beach. We then took a walking tour of the Kaspa and the Medina. Had a wonderful meal, and were given the opportunity to spend some time looking for souvenirs. As someone who was a little nervous about travelling to Morocco, this was a perfect stress free way to do it. Our guide was accommodating and spoke impeccable English. Everything went off without a hitch and I would highly recommend booking this tour.
