About
The Palace of Dueñas is perhaps, with the Cathedral, the Alcazar and the Old Jewish neighbouhood, the best known monument in Seville.
This palace belongs to one of the most renowned families in Spain: the House of Alba, whose origins date back to the 14th century, and the actual owners decided to open it to the public in 2016, when the last Duchess of Alba died.
In it, the tourist will be able to enjoy, not only of a placid and romantic walk through the gardens that inspired one of our most illustrious poets, such as Machado, but will also be able to visit the most emblematic rooms where one of the most beloved characters in Seville lived: María del Rosario Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart y Silva.

- andy_n_John0 contributionsA must do!Isabel was a fabulous and informative tour guide! - NeilKelly770 contributionsGreat looking churchIglesia De San Luis De Los Franceses ( Church Of Saint Louis Of France ) was a wonderful looking church my twin brother and I chanced upon as we were pub hopping around the wonderful Barrio De Macarena and what a great find. This church was constructed between 1699-1731 and built from designs from architect Leonardo De Figueroa ,a wonderful example of Baroque style architecture, interior is awesome, so many beautiful features to behold, externally it's a stunning building, very photogenic, if you're walking down Calle San Luis it's most definitely well worth checking out.Written 13 September 2024
- gailo3440 contributionsSeveral Hours Needed to See Entire SitePurchased on-line specific reserved entry time for Upper Palace (appxly $15 U.S.). There was confusion at the Lion's Gate entry. If the area was roped off with the entry times posted it would have been more orderly. Most of the staff were milling around at the entrance instead of managing the line so people were leaving the line to ask questions. The palace is a short distance from the entrance so arrive 15-30 mins early to reach the palace's 2nd floor. There are no bags or photos allowed during the palace tour, so lockers are available to store your items at the entry (coins needed). Guides take you through the palace, room by room. I thought the rest of Alcazar was more impressive than the palace so it would be fine to skip the palace. The Courtyard of the Maidens, the Hall of Ambassadors, & the entry to the Garden of the Galley were especially beautiful with the intricate carvings. Unfortunately, due to limited time, we were not able to see all the gardens.Written 28 July 2024
- BR212183890 contributionsHighly recommend this tour! This is a wonderfully informative tour. Isabel is professional, knowledgeable and very personable. We had a very nice time on the tour with her and learned so much about bull fighting, and how it is quintessentially Spain. Immediately after booking, Isabel reached out and provided us with instructions for next steps. She was easy to deal with and replied promptly, which just added to the ease of this tour. We are a family of 5, with teens, and everyone loved it. We highly recommend this tour. Tha k you so much Isabel!! You are amazing and we would do the tour again.Written 25 July 2024
- stephenmV4752XA0 contributionsOle, Isabel!Isabel provided a wonderful tour of La Maestranza with humor, flair & a great appreciation of bullfighting as part of Spain's cultural history.Written 15 July 2024
- The_Atomic0 contributionsUnparalleled!Ms. Rico was a delightful companion for the morning and has a wonderful lighthearted sense of humor. She was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of our random questions (e.g. Why is there a crocodile hanging from the ceiling? Why does that dude have bats on his cape?). I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job and would hire her again and again. Highly recommended!Written 12 July 2024
- johndA6534AX0 contributionsAwesome Tour!We had a fantastic tour with Isabel. She’s knowledgeable, patient, and provided a fantastic experience. I highly recommend her for a tour (it was just two of us so a great private experience). Well worth it!Written 21 June 2024
- Love2Kids0 contributionsTop notch tourIsabel was fantastic. We were a group of 8 and from booking to tour completion she was very communicative and helpful. She contacted me the day tickets were available and sent clear instructions on how to obtain our tickets. She communicated regularly to check in and provide information on tour times, meeting sites and other recommendations for our time in Seville. She was very knowledgeable and patient with our children (ages10,9,7). She answered all their questions and did it with a smile. The tour was amazing and we learned so much history of Seville. After our tour she sent many more recommendations for our time in Seville. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.Written 8 June 2024
- 819randallc0 contributionsPrivate tour with Isabel is the BESTWe had a private tour. Isabel was the best! Bullfighting is a controversial issue, but essential to an understanding of Seville and Spain. Isabel was articulate and engaging and managed to provide a detailed discussion of the social and historical importance of bullfighting, without getting wrapped up in the political discussion. Truly an intelligent and charming individual. Also provided lots of extras. Was prepared with a wealth of additional information and background on her phone. And even left us with a tasty treat as a parting gift, which was totally unexpected. And sent us pictures!! We were disappointed with our other group tours in Seville. Track down Isabel for ALL your Seville sites. Better insight, better tour, and less money. The group tours were horrible. Isabel was the best of our tours in our two weeks in Spain. Isabel ROCKS!Written 2 June 2024
- henfrh0 contributionsA highly skilled guide and spectacular locationsThe Plaza de España and Maria Louisa Park are two absolutely spectacular, not-to-be-missed sites. And Isabella is a not-to-be-missed guide as she brings history to life with her engaging presentation. She is thoroughly knowledgeable and could answer any question I had. She’s kind and generous, and you will thoroughly enjoy your experience with her.Written 18 May 2024
- BeatriceS2230 contributionsWhat a wonderful afternoonWhat a wonderful afternoon I spent with Isabel during my private tour of Pilates’ house&garden!!! Isabel was so emphatic and charming, like I met a relative from another country! I really appreciate her knowledge and dedication and I learned so many new things about Andalusian style, the explanation of the name Pilates, or Catalina de Rivera….I feel like I have to come back!Written 2 May 2024
- KATE R0 contributionsBest tour in SevilleThis was the best tour on my visit to Spain. Isabel is so personable and knowledgeable. The history and stories she presented really added to our enjoyment of the City of Seville. She was efficient, professional and accommodating to what we wanted to know about Seville. I highly recommend this tour.Written 29 April 2024
