Despite the rain, we spent the day visiting three distinctly different cities, hearing about the history of each, the region’s influence thoroughout the centuries. Iker was fantastic and couldn’t speak more highly of this all day excursion. St Jean de Luz is a must see!!!

The trip to Lourdes Sanctuary was a moving experience. Our guide and driver Marcelo was excellent, articulate and a pleasure to meet. He drove very well and was most informative about the history of Pais Vasco. He knowledge about Lourdes was equally impressive. Should we avail of your tours in the near future, we would insist on Marcelo.

Mark was a fantastic and accommodating guide. Great stories, knowledgeable about local history. We very much enjoyed our day outing with him.

Super tour. Everything was perfect! Our guide, Mikel, knew the area extremely well. The scenery was great! Per my request we stopped at a very nice seafood restaurant and it just we wanted. My wife and I were the only 2 on the tour. Mikel helped my wife find stores where to stop. This was the Perfect Tour - Much better than we expected.

Markel (Mark) was fantastic! He was not only knowledgeable and charismatic but you can tell he truly has a love and passion for the Basque region. He also had great suggestions of where to go in San Sebastián for food and drinks. We left that tour wanting to invite Markel to stay with us if he ever visits the states.

The tour guides were amazing, and the experiences were wonderful! We enjoyed a few different tours. On each one, the guides shared fascinating information about the history of the Basque region. One tour included visiting three small cities with amazing ocean views, beautiful architecture (towns and churches), very fun shopping, and of course delicious wine and food (the fresh food markets were incredible). We also took a private tour of two Rioja vineyards which were beautiful and very unique! We ended that tour by eating at an amazing restaurant. Overall, my sisters and I, who were enjoying our annual sister trip, were delighted and amazed with the area. A special thanks to these most amazing tour guides: Ernes and Ania!

Outstanding tour. Our tour guide Mickel native to a Basque town near Hondarribia was authentic and very knowledgeable. We started in Saint Jean de Luz with the market and a beautiful tasting at a wine shop. If you love cheese, this is the stop for you. Beautiful town! And a stop at the bakery that created the macaron for Lois XIV wedding. No spoiler here but not what you might expect. Then on to Biarritz. Incredible market and pretty coastline. We ultimately finished at a beautiful txacoli winery for lunch. Highly recommend Mickel and this tour.

We had such a fantastic day touring Rioja with Markel from Ikusnahi Tours. We visited three very different, very distinct wineries. Mark was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about wines and the region as well as Basque history which was fascinating to me and my husband. Everything was taken care of, Mark was a great conversationalist and a very good driver. By the end of the day, we'd tasted nine different wines, shipped 6 bottles home, took 5 more bottles to drink in Spain (ha!), had an amazing traditional lunch, and dreamed about going back. Thanks, Mark!

Martin was our guide for a truly memorable experience. He was on time. The van we went in was very comfortable and spacious. Martin was an excellent driver. Martin told us so much about the Basques, the region, customs, history, etc. It made our travel time go faster. He was knowledgeable about the history of Lourdes and was respectful of the time we wanted to spend praying in the different cathedrals. The restaurant he chose for lunch was good and it was nice to have an opportunity to visit with him while eating.

A message was sent at 3:20pm canceling our tour for the next day. It was seen at 5:20pm with no opportunity to arrange an alternative for the same day. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to the day which has received such positive reviews elsewhere.

Excellent tour - all the three places - St. Jean de Luc, Biarritz and Hondarribia - were worth visiting. Jan was an amazing guide - his knowledge of history, local culture and interesting anecdotes of the region kept us enthralled all through the tour

Do not miss out on this tour with Aña. She was prompt, knowledgeable, and accommodating to our preferences. She generously provided us with so many tips about how to maximize our stay. The weather was inclement but she made it such an enjoyable experience. Thanks Aña for such an unforgettable time!!

This was the best day tour that we have ever done. An amazing experience from start to finish. Fantastic Rioja wines to savour and great food to share! The views and the wineries were fantastic. Martin was the best tour guide and someone who has both the education and life experience to tell the story of basque country. You can tell he is passionate about his heritage and his story telling made you want to listen. The tour went all over the region with stops in small coastal towns we would never have visited if not for Martin and the tour. The tour centers on food but folds history into the conversation to give you the full understanding not only of how things work but why they work this way. Truly a delightful way to spend a day and got us out of San Sebastian to experience more of basque country. The tour is a bit pricey but honestly I would do it again in a heartbeat because it was private and personalized for me and my wife . This was my favorite activity so far in our week in basque country.
