About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- robertsN8225TE0 contributionsBumpy rollercoasterCoach was 1 hor late for stated pick up time . Only seat available was middle rear not great for 7 hours of winding roads. Coach had a suspension problem which made it ground on severe bends On the positive side mt tiede and the three villages we visited were good . Tour guide well informed but a bit rushedWritten 26 November 2024
- 236philm0 contributionsLARGE BLADDER NEEDEDFantastic experience. Local culture, superb views en-route, great sunset and lovely stargazing experience are the positives. BUT: ▪Booked 6 hour trip, took nearly 9 with poorly organised pick ups. Doubled back to our area to reach restaurant, no need. ▪Stargazing needs no more than 45 mins to an hour, not 105 minutes. ▪No refreshment or toilet facilities for 5 hours after leaving restaurant, not good when plied with much cava. We never indulged and still struggled massively with no facilities. Not good enough to be told use a bush at stargazing, in the pitch black when a hotel is nearby. Why company do not use a coach with a toilet is anyones guess. If they had we would rate this as a superb, must do, now its a never again, unless fitted with a catheter.Written 13 September 2024
- Martin P0 contributionsBoring and time-consumingBoring, not as much informations about surrounding, almost none free time, 4 languages makes it forever, no lunch/swim timeWritten 6 September 2024
- ElisL9340 contributionsA Serene Landscape EscapeThe visit to Mount Teide was the main attraction with a few other stops thrown in. I initially booked it for something to do for the day away from the terrible resort I stayed in. The tour was a full days attraction; I was in awe of the ruins and mountain views from the beginning of the long scenic drive up into an altitude of approximately 2k metres above sea level and the feeling of like being in an aeroplane, to the main stop Teide Parque Nacional. (Mountains Sedimentos; Islotes de rocas antiguas; Pitones fonollticos; Pico veijo - where lava flows from; Diques fonollticos). Several pictures, videos, and shameless selfies later, I enjoyed taking in the picturesque mountain views and humbling ambiance from a seat near the edge. This attraction is worth going on for the main stop alone, however, included was a stop at a village for lunch (not Inc in the price) with a tour and history of some trees in the area from 90 years to a 1000 years old (El Drago Milenairo). Lastly, a stop at a small village gift shop. The tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and engaging throughout, he was quite descriptive focusing on aspects of mountains like size, shape, colour, textures, and climate. He spoke about unique geological features, and cultural, historical, and symbolic significance, the impact of volcanoes and the heat from the neighbouring African continent.Written 5 September 2024
- Paradise458475368160 contributionsMiss sold tripGot pick from bus stop near hotel the trip was disappointing half hour stop at gift shop, half hour stop at mount tedi, half our stop at the old bussell tree as they called it one hour stop at the lava pool, the best was going down in to the riven at Masca when we book the trip we were told that you had two hour stops at all stops, so apart from being miss sold the trip it was not worth the 138 euros we paid for it, so if you’ve got sort of money to east by all means do the trip.Written 22 June 2024
- X9523NVcarolinem0 contributionsNot advising to pick this tourIf you are not willing to see anything and do a lot of hours in bus with a guide explaining same things 4 times in each of the language book here 10 to 50 minutes stop each places to take pictures of a tree or a lava pool or mont Teide WITHOUT any real walk around the places and the only information you ll get are the one in the bus. It s not for people willing to get a real grasp of the place… very much deceived about itWritten 15 June 2024
- Bowler5550 contributionsA Bus tour of two halves -Positive and negative experiences- Overall GoodIt was our first time on Tenerife and the opportunity to visit Mount Teide in particular was too good to miss. Pick-up near our hotel was fine and the coach very good with an excellent guide and a brilliant driver(more of that later!) First stop was short 30 minutes at a gift shop/café as we started climbing off the coastal area. Served a purpose as a toilet stop as well. We then started moving higher on narrow roads first of all through mist and rain with all sorts of exotic cactus/plants growing from the lava - really weird but fascinating. First thoughts were we are not going to see much of the mountain but were we surprised, All of a sudden we broke out into the surreal world above the clouds. Blue skies(no clouds) and a landscape like a lunar surface with jagged rocks/cliffs Truly spectacular with Mount Teide in the distance showing a true volcanic dominance. It was a short stop at the viewing point for just 30 minutes and given the magnificence of the view you could have done with a longer stay. Returning through the National Park we then set-off towards the far west of the Island to visit the towns ,The roads all full of ultra tight hair pin bends with our driver in a class of his own - never seen such driving skills many times having to reverse the coach on the actual bends as the turning angle was so tight! Bet the brakes are checked daily! The first town was Icod with a short walk through to the centre but to be honest not that memorable. The next stop was Garachica down by the coast for a longer 1 hour 30 min lunch stop. To be honest this was very disappointing virtually just a few places to either eat or have a drink and a waste of time when longer stops could have been made up at Mount Teide. My recommendation is that you take your own Food/drinks via your hotel - more practical. The final stop was the a truly great experience at the mountain village of Masca. The drive up to and beyond was amazing. The number of hair pin bends and sheer steepness of the mountains took your breath away .How a village can exist on the side of a mountain is beyond belief . It is no wonder that the professional cycling teams come here to train at Altitude what an experience.Written 21 May 2024

- Glosgirl520 contributionsVery good tour but times too shortIt was a lovely day out but disappointing that we stayed for only 30 mins at Teide, Icod and Masca, not the hour advertised. The 49 min stop fit souvenirs wasted time. That said, the views were wonderful, Garachico was very pretty & good to have the full hour there. I suggest missing out Icid & the souvenir shop & spending longer at Teide & Masca.Written 17 January 2024
- silviarE497AA0 contributionsReally cool dayReally cool day trip: amazing views, the guide Guido was super pro and fun, and overall the timings/places we stopped were well done. We packed our own lunch as advised by some comments, so we never felt forced to do anything we didn’t want to do, and had a really nice time :) one tip: the “lunch break” was quite late (14h), so if you have kids or you’re an early eater make sure to pack some snacks! also we were told the northern part of the island can get a bit cold, so maybe take a light jacket too (we were lucky to have a really warm day though).Written 4 January 2024
- 134rutaz0 contributionsI didnt recommend it at allA very poor trip. Bus without heater, phone chargers and wifi did not work. The telescopes were weak, stars could be seen dimly. People went to other organizers' telescopes where the planets could be clearly seen. The guide walked around by himself without explaining anything. He said little and the view through telescops was poor. The laser was almost invisible to show the planets. After that, they took 40 minutes in complete darkness to go to the restaurant, where the meat was burnt and the dessert was jar of yogurt. I recommend to choose others service providers for that trip.Written 19 December 2023
- Peter G0 contributionsAn Excellent Day OutThis is an excellent opportunity to see a part of Tenerife you may not normally see. A brief half hour stop at Teide visitor centre was followed by visits to 3 different towns. An excellent guide gave good information on the walk round without overwhelming us with information. The coach driver certainly earned his wage visiting the final village. Altogether an excellent day out.Written 2 November 2023

This was the 2nd of my consecutive trips with the company La Excursion. The staff at the company even e-mailed me to wish me happy birthday! Thanks guys!
Early pick up at 7.30am and we had a few more stops before arriving at the ferry terminal for the crossing on the ship to La Gomera. Antonio our guide the previous day was the guide again! Nice sailing which took about 50 minutes and there was an excellent cafe on board so tip is if you miss your breakfast you can always get a snack on board.
When reaching La Gomera, we connected with our coach travelling around the island. The restaurant stop was excellent where we had a lovely view of Teide but also the 3 course lunch was very good (potato soup), chicken and rice dinner with a tub of ice cream with a glass of wine. We were treated to a display of the Gomeran whistling language where I ws treated to being wished happy birthday by whistling! Needless to say, I won't be able to do that myself! Again there were some stops for taking photos and we had a couple of 30 minute stops at the National park and San Sebastian the capital. Would have preferred less time at the park and more time at the capital asthere wasn't enough time to look around the town.
Antonio - thank you for your company my friend and I look forward to booking another trip with La Excursion the next time I visit Tenerife!

This was a very well organised tour, with everything running smoothly and on time. Although we have been to La Gomera before, this trip took us to places we hadn't visited and because the day was clear, we saw so much of this beautiful island. We were disappointed with the commentary, though. We had German, English, Spanish and Polish people on the trip. Each of he German explanations and narratives seemed to last a lot longer than the English ones which followed, so we feel we missed out a bit. We also feel that the demonstration of the "whistling" language of La Gomera wasn't the original authentic language, as the person doing the whistling just copied what the guide said - we could almost understand it. On our previous trip, one of the islanders directed another to find something he had asked one of the guests to hide, and used the very complicated whistling to guide him to the object. However, this didn't detract from the overall wonderful visit, which included the cloud evergreen forest, and it was good value for money, as we booked it online before we travelled to Tenerife, and it worked out a lot cheaper.

A nice tour for a first impression of La Gomera.
If you really want to enjoy the beauty of La Gomera (especially culinary), you should set off on your own or book a more exclusive tour.
All in all, it's nice that everyone is taken care of: ferry tickets, bus on the island, multilingual guide with knowledge and lunch. However, you have to be aware that the whole thing is a tourist program at its finest. There is a very tight schedule, which had to be tightened even further due to the slight delay of the ferry in the morning. You should definitely save the extra charge for lunch when booking: soup served without words and without heart, canteen rice, vegetable and chicken combination as the main course and convenience vanilla ice cream from a plastic cup with a plastic spoon - no information about the ingredients, questions about intolerances or dietary restrictions. Any homemade sandwich is better!
The highlight was the visit to the jungle - an incredible place!! But here too: departure after 25 minutes.
The guide did his very best to convey the special features of the island, but after he had recited his blocks of information in the four languages of the day, at some point you just ignored him.
As I said: if you don't have a complete lack of a plan, it's certainly a nice tour, but not recommended for genuinely interested Canary Islands lovers and experts.

Transfer to the port and the ferry crossing was smooth with no problems and clear instructions from our lovely guide. We were then picked up in small coach which we used for the rest of the day. Stunning and varied scenery with the highlights being the visit to the Aloe farm and of course the demonstration of the whistling language at the restaurant but plenty of other interesting visits as well. A basic lunch is provided which is not to the standard of the one on the Teide by Night trip. One bottle of wine per 6 people although it is v poor quality and nobody would have wanted more than one glass ! Overall though an excellent trip

The excursion is worth it to explore La Gomera, go to the Garajonay National Park and see the demonstration of the Gomero whistle. However, the food could be improved, especially because of the small amount that was served. On the other hand, the stop at the Garajonay National Park was too short, so there was practically no time to explore or enjoy it. Initially the forecast was to stop for an hour and we only stayed for 40 minutes. We could have eliminated the stop at one of the viewpoints if we were too short on time and extended our stay in the park, which was really much more worth it

Avoid, purchase when at Tenerife we have had serious issues with this company unfortunately we booked this prior to our visit as we were staying in the North of the island drive all across very early to meet only to find out passports were needed, I was told at 7pm the night before via message in trip. Advisor which was not picked up that late in the day. The only mention of passports is in the small print in Spanish so please be aware as if booked anywhere else this would have been covered talking to various places on the island.
I get that a full refund would be out of the question and yes now looking back it's obvious but a partial refund would have been a nice gesture but have just been ignored.

Dear Philip, thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this matter. And thank you for taking the time to read it.
When you are doing the reservation, it states very clear that bringing passports is mandatory in order to be able to access the Ferry. We also comunicate with you in various ocassions to confirm that you had the information and to know where you wanted us to pick you up. Once we finally received your answer, we answered you back just 4 minutes after, and we again remind you that you had to bring the passports in order to access the Ferry.
We would have loved to have you with us the whole day, but there was nothing else that we could do about it. With the best will to help, we also offered you the option to go another day, but you denied it.
There are no cancelations accepted the lasts 24 hours like in all the excursions on the island and no other companies approve any refund in this situation.
Below are the messages we shared and the information during the booking process:
Best regards,
--------

Hello Philip!
Yes, in that street parking is free and should not be difficult to park.
Please come with time since sometimes you get a bit of traffic at that time
and Sol Arona Tenerife is the last pick up stop.
See you tomorrow and remember that it is very important to bring your
original passports or ID with photo in order to access the Ferry.
Otherwise they will not allow you to board.

The ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera was supposed to leave at 8.40 a.m. There were a lot of visitors in the harbor and we were looking for our tour guide. The information was that the tour guide was still coming. It was now 9 a.m. and we were wandering back and forth. Several companies were there and we were wandering back and forth, it was confusing. Then the tour guide came and when we asked why later, we got no answer because she turned to someone else. Once we arrived on La Gomera, we got on the bus, which was full to the last seat, and the tour of the island began. The tour guide's explanations were trilingual (English, French, German) and very extensive because of the guests, so we were "bombarded" with noise for a long time. The stops gave a good insight into the beautiful island and in one restaurant we were able to enjoy a meal and wine. During the meal, the performance of the traditional Canarian whistling language was slightly disturbing, but still interesting. The food was good and it should be mentioned that the bus driver did a very good job.
Overall, the trip can be recommended, although we got to know La Gomera on holiday some time ago.

I had booked this day trip thinking the highlight would be the guided tour in the listed park in the heart of La Gomera. Unfortunately, we only spent 30 minutes there without a guide to tell us about the flora or fauna. Very disappointing!
The lunch was of poor quality, nothing authentic, closer to a canteen meal than a restaurant.
The visit to the amie vera production was interesting but the prices were completely exorbitant: €5 for an aloe vera shoot, €15 for deodorant. Purchases are optional of course, but the marketing message is on point!
In the end, we spent a lot of time waiting for the ferry and on the road, on the bus,
Disappointing!

We spent the day on the bus (more than 59 people) the guide didn't even have a place to sit. 2 hours of transfer before arriving at the ferry including 30 minutes on a motorway rest area. Repetitive comments from the guide with little interest and above all difficult to understand and borderline unbearable at the end of the day! More than 100 people at lunch in a closed, noisy room, crowded on the tables while the weather is wonderful outside. The feeling of having completely missed this magnificent island! First bus stop at a viewpoint in front of the trash cans! Smell of mold in the return shuttle! Mass tourism where we really take the tourist for an idiot. Absolutely avoid! As far as I'm concerned, a totally wasted vacation day!

We enjoyed our full day coach and ferry trip to La Gomera earlier today. We were picked up from our hotel at 0645, and returned at 1930. We had a full, and interesting day.
LaExcursion organised everything, including a multi-lingual guide (Jessica).
The ferry departed and returned to Los Cristianos. Our pick up coach took us to/from theme port, and a second coach took us around La Gomera. Jessica was with us throughout.
We went to an aloe vera farm, saw a banana plantation, had a three course lunch with wine, went up to the National Park / walked in the woods, and lots of photo stops. We finished for shopping free time in the island capital San Sebastián. Lots of Christopher Columbus stories there! As I said, a really good one-day introduction to the island.

We didn't wear a mask at any point. There was one passenger with one on though. Even on ferry and beyond its not compulsory anymore.
