          Awful
The customer service was appalling, rude and unhelpful. The whole thing is a rip-off, save your money and don't bother going.

          Awesome mountain trip!
Excellent tour guide Jairo spoke brilliant English and gave a great insight into the area & tour. We were a small friendly group of 8 in a comfortable people carrier. We first visited a remote beautiful monastery. Next stop was Potes, a beautiful old village with quaint cafes plus a river to dip your feet in & cobbled streets to wander around for a couple of hours. Picos de Europa are amazing mountains. Breath taking views with the cleanest of air. This is a must see whilst in Santander. A full day trip. Go up the cable car and see the beautiful views & walk around to take it all in but make sure you leave plenty of time to get back on the cable car down the mountain as we had to wait 30 minutes & we felt so bad for keeping everyone waiting !!! We had no idea we would be waiting so long & initially we thought the queue was for the bathroom!!

Comillas, Gaudi and the Marquis of Comillas.
Rafael picked us up exactly on time and reviewed the places we were going to visit in Comillas. He reviewed the history of the towns we passed by as well as their industries past and present. We love these kind of tours because that is what makes it richer. Comillas is a town not to be missed if in Cantabrias.

          Wonderful guide
Guided by an expert on Picos de Europa. The guide explained with detail all aspects of the touring region. The fact that we were a small group made a difference.

          Santillana & Museo Altamira
Whilst on a family holiday to the fabulous Santander we used Exploring Cantabria to visit the Altamira Caves and the Village of Santillana. We booked online and the process was simple with plenty of updates, even a calendar invite. The guide arranged to pick us up via Whatsapp (in English which helped) and was there as agreed. Mini bus was clean and comfortable and all information was in English and Spanish. The guide knew his stuff and was very helpful. Definitely use again if in Santander..

          Great tour
Our bi-lingual guide (Gabriella) did an excellent job. She made accommodation for a true international group - including Polish, Argentinian, German and American. A full day with gorgeous sites!

          Remarkable!
Such an experience to be in the presence of expressive markings from 40,000 years ago! Lots to ponder. Caves are a marvel in and I of themselves, too!

For anyone visiting Comillas, this masterpiece is a must-see
Last September, I had the pleasure of visiting Gaudí's Capricho in Comillas, a jewel of modernist architecture nestled in the heart of Cantabria, Spain. This early work of Antoni Gaudí, designed in his unmistakable style, stands out not only for its visual spectacle but also for the immersive experience it offers. The Capricho, or 'fancy' in English, lives up to its name with its whimsical design and intricate details. The building's façade, adorned with vibrant tiles and unique motifs inspired by nature, captures the essence of Gaudí's creative genius. The sunflower patterns that dominate the exterior are not only visually appealing but also symbolize the sun's movement as they face the sun throughout the day.

          Beautiful trip into the countryside
Communication before the trip was easy & the organiser responded quickly. They were helpful with any questions. They picked me up at my hotel on time & I had a great day. First we went to the monastery which also had a beautiful lookout with views down both sides of the valley. The Picos were snowy, freezing & beautiful! Poets was lovely - beautiful medieval town with stunning unspoilt architecture & lots of places to enjoy the views. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, professional & super helpful. Had a fantastic day & would highly recommend!

Badly badly managed imitation of Wildlife. Absolutely ridiculous funicular routes- you spent twice of 3 times at least 20-40 min in the queue when change from Blue line to Pink one- be careful its mostly stupido managerial non-explainable trick in this place.
Not seen animals- just hidden on distance.
Not clean toilets- lines in poor kiosks.
Absolutely useless Map - even not scheme- can’t read it properly.
Overpriced - more €70 for two!!😳 never more

Best day out of our holiday. Never seen so many animals close up before. Do not miss. Recommend taking a hire car and a packed lunch as there are loads of lovely picnic spots. There are also restaurants on site but we didn't test them out.

Highlight was the bears but also the elephants and tigers were pretty amazing.

We had never heard about Cabarceno until we visited Santander. It is truly an awesome experience to see Elephants, Tigers, Giraffes, Apes and a host of other wild animals roam free in their own controlled areas and be happy and well cared for. This is a real treat not to be missed if you visit this area.

I have been to many zoos and safari parks around the world but this is just the best. The reasons are the space the animals have to roam around in and also there are more of each species than I have ever seen before. I am frightened of heights but it was amazing to be on the two cable car rides around the park. My fascination of seeing the animals counteracted my fear. We ate a fabulous meal in the restaurant where the staff were so kind and friendly. The kids' menu was especially wonderful. In the afternoon, we watched one of the bird shows. Again, it was like nothing I had seen before - truly amazing!

There are zoos and then there are zoos, this one is right up there, both in terms of animal care and visitor satisfaction. Absolutely amazing, totally undersold and very much a hidden gem. E were initially put off the place by the visitor information centre in Santander, far from encouraging visitors to the site, they actually tried very hard to put you off it. Glad to say we decided to go, and so glad we did. Yes, ideally you need a car as the hill you need to walk up at the start is enough to bring on angina but once you are at the top, it’s like being on the Swiss alps, breath taking!
The views from the cable cars are something else and to see the animals below you without interrupting them, well, it’s something else. The whole place is a credit to those who run it and look after it could not speak highly enough, without doubt the best Zoo/safari/ nature reserve I’ve visited. Will definitely return, would love to see it in the winter.
Congratulations to all whom play a part in making this possible

If you like animals and visiting safari parks, this one is an absolute must. Cabarceno is based in an old tin mine, meaning that the area is completely natural and the animals have plenty of space to roam. We felt like this was the first time we had seen animals in something akin to their natural habitat. There are all sorts of animals to see - lions, tigers, bears, wolves, leopards, camels, zebras, rhinos, hippo, deer, elephants and plenty of others.
We arrived just before 10am and stayed till around 7pm - it's a packed day and full of excitement. There's a 30 minute cable car which takes you above the park and the animals, meaning you get great views of the park and animals and get to see how beautiful it is. You can also drive round yourself - and the big difference is there are car parking spots all round the park, so you can get out of your car and visit the animals in their enclosures. We have never been so close to lions, tigers and elephants and lots of other animals (safely!). They all seemed very comfortable in their environment, and we were really pleased to see that there were lots of baby bears (so cute!) and baby elephants - we saw this as a sign that the animals are happy where they are as breeding doesn't seem to be an issue, as it can be with other zoos.

Very bad experience, the animals in very bad condition, when there were, because there were parts where there were not even animals such as lynxes. Very little quantity. For example: In the wallaby enclosure there were only four of these and a single emur that was not with its species and had nothing to do with them.
The animals did not have places of shade (or trees), not even the elephants had them, although they needed them to feed themselves.
Not to mention the exorbitant prices. We were 4 people in the mid-low season for a price of €130. The ride on the funicular was also paid separately, as were the shows. I wouldn't go back even if they didn't pay.

The natural landscapes it has and how they care for the animals make it spectacular.Without a doubt the best cared for animal park I have ever seen. They allow their spaces as they should be spacious. You see the animals relaxed and happy not like in other parks I have seen. The cable car allows you to see its splendour and wonderful park from the heights. It impresses you to see elephants and rhinos running freely 🥰I would go again without a doubt. The last area you can see the monkeys loose we loved😍

The enclosure is very well cared for and so are the animals. The guide was very friendly and since we were children, she made an effort to make us understand it. The cable car has very good views of all the animals and you will have a good time at the heights, they have long lines and other shorter ones depending on the time you have to get on. The only drawback is that the natural park store
It has very high prices and the staff was a bit unpleasant.

They had told me about him. The visit was in June 2022, despite everything, what a pleasant surprise. Beautiful place in the green Cantabrian meadows. You visit in your own car and you park it and get out to explore each of the areas designated for the different animals. Immense spaces for various species, animals cannot be in a place that resembles freedom more than this park. The surroundings, the immensity of the park, everything looks like painted paintings, beautiful but the visit on the cable car and a good Cantabrian stew in the town was the best. Without a doubt highly recommended.
