About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 106stevem0 contributionsWalking tour of Old ToledoToledo Spain is on of the oldest cities in this oart of the world. It retains its history and culture very well and the old city is a UNESCO site. Adolpho Ferrero led us on a 3.5 hour walking tour to highlight the history, architecture and culture of this fascinating city. Wandered through the extensive Jewish Quarter which housed some of the richest of Jewish families for over 1300 years. Unfortunately all were expelled with the Muslim community in the 15th century when Spain finally conquered the rest the Moorish holdings. As Adolpho explained, Spaniards share the blood of Jews, Muslims and Christians. Saw the major sites, the Cathedral, stunning views, the preserved El Greco small church. Adolpho understood and explained the significance of the paintings, the history of Toledo and the importance of the development from a Christian society to a secular one. Extremely informative and very enjoyable guide. He is also the author of a Toledo tourist guide which we highly recommend.Written 25 February 2020
- djs941240 contributionsA great tour with a great tour guide! We were a large tour group that took a day trip from Madrid to Toledo on a Saturday. Adolfo took us all over the old, historic heart of Toledo, visiting the Jewish Museum, the Cathedral, the El Greco artwork, etc. There were many other tour groups to contend with so streets and attractions were crowded, but Adolfo was able to get us into all of the important attractions on schedule. He is extremely knowledgable about Toledo history, plus he's very friendly and has a good sense of humor. I would definitely recommend Adolfo for local tours of Toledo!Written 8 November 2019
- sue B0 contributionsBeautiful ToledoAdolfo was our perfect guide for the old section of Toledo. We did a day trip from Madrid. Adolfo met us at the train station aand we took a taxi to the old city. I loved walking the old narrow streets as Adolfo gave us the history of the city. He was able to get us through most of the old city ahead of the crowds of the large tours. This added more charm to the tour. Adolfo was informative, a good sense of humor, and adapted to our needs. We so enjoyed our time with Adolfo in Toledo. Be aware if you go on a Sunday there are few taxis from the old city to get back to the train station. We had to walk down to make our train. It was a 20 - 25 minute walk.Written 29 October 2019
- EBG760 contributionsWonderful Day in Toledo with Adolpho! We had a fantastic tour of Toledo with Adolfo and we enjoyed it tremendously. Adolfo is a knowledgeable, personable guide who shared the history, the cultures, and the beauty of Toledo with us. He answered all of our questions about the city and it’s history with interesting and informative responses. His insights about the history of the city and the interactions of the multiple cultures over the centuries were fascinating. He is a licensed guide and his advanced and thorough knowledge is apparent as is his appreciation and love of the city. Aldolfo’s English is excellent, which is so important to the tour experience. At our request, he also directed us to a great local lunch location and made sure we found it, as the city is a bit of a maze. He also gave us recommendations of what to see during the rest of our visit in Toledo. All said, we couldn’t have had a better day in Toledo, or a better guide to lead us!Written 14 October 2019
- AlaskaEmeraldIsle490 contributionsAdolpho's Toledo became ours...Adolfo showed us Toledo with a most engaging tour and factual, yet passionate, history of the various inhabitants, including the Christian, Jewish and Islamic cohabitation. His knowledge of "his" Toledo is exceptional and his ability of enrapture us was unique. The four of us had not been to Toledo and will forever remember his use of language and nuance to reflect the way of community when Toledo was known as "The Imperial City". He is also the author of a guide book of his beloved city.Written 27 September 2019
- BarryMF0 contributionsFantastic Tour of ToledoMy 24 year old son and I took this walking tour with Adolfo. It was incredible. Starting with great views of the City then just a perfect time exploring the City with a very knowledgable guide. If you are in Madrid, take the short train ride here for a great half or full day.Written 5 September 2019

- Vacation791730 contributionsFabulous private tour of ToledoWe are a family of four with 2 teens (17&15) traveling through Spain. Visiting Toledo was a highlight for all of us. We took the train from Madrid and were met by our tour guide at the train station. We then toured outside by taxi so we could see the views, bridges and river. We were dropped off and continued our tour through Toledo. Laura our guide was from Toledo and very knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend!Written 2 July 2019
- Dianna E0 contributionsWalking tour of ToledoAdolfo is an excellent guide and everyone in our group of 6 adults was so very happy to have taken his half-day Toledo tour. Both his professionalism and his passion were evident. He suggested which time we should book our train tickets from Madrid and met us as we arrived in Toledo. He was kind, funny, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Also, he speaks English extremely well. When he learned that we would be traveling to Seville and Granada he made sure to connect the history, art and architecture of those two cities with his own. In fact, while we were in Andalusia, someone in our group would invariably remark, "Adolfo told us about this. . . " or "remember what Adolfo said?". He kept just the right cadence for us - not too rushed and not too slow which resulted in us taking up more than the scheduled 3 1/2 hours of his time but he didn't seem to mind. We requested restaurant suggestions for after the tour's end an he named two based on our preferences. We ended up eating in a local, family run place that did not feel tourist-y at all. If you are going to Toledo, I highly recommend him. Even if you are not planning to visit Toledo, you should add it to your itinerary just to take his tour!Written 4 June 2019

- RandyKn0 contributionsHalf Day Guided Tour of ToledoWe had a great half day tour of Toledo with Adolfo. He was outstanding. Would highly recommend him to anyone who is visiting Toledo and looking for a guided tour. Excellent knowledge of all the local history of Toledo as well as history of Spain in general. He was also very accommodating since we arrived earlier than expected and met us when we arrived. Tour included drive around the outside wall with beautiful views of Toledo and then multiple hour walking tour throughout the entire walled city, plus inside visits to various cathedrals and synagogues. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.Written 4 April 2019
- bmurphy3060 contributionsPersonal, informative, in-depth tour of ToledoAdolpho was the perfect guide for our walking tour of Toledo. My adult son and I are into history, culture, architecture, and food. We were so pleased with Adolpho's great span of knowledge and his openness to field any questions. Since he lives in Toledo, he really knows the town as a friend. We were there on a Saturday, so it was expected to get crowded. He started us on the opposite side so for the first half we were almost alone. His explanations of the synagogues and the big cathedral and tours therein were textured with so much about all our favorite topics. He even made a reservation at a restaurant that we wanted so we wouldn't have any difficulty getting in once the tour concluded. One of the better guides we have ever had. Thank you Adolpho.Written 28 February 2019

Highly recommended. Took the 920 train from Madrid, we were meet at the train station by Adolfo and all took a taxi into town seeing views en route. Adolfo then took us into all the main churches and synagogues, very interesting and informative tour. There was no no way we could have all this on our own in the same time. The tour finished around 1330, we had lunch at a great place he recommended, then took the 1540 train back to Madrid. It was all very stress free having a guide, again highly recommend.

Adolfo was fantastic with our child - from the first moment, he gave him a "game" to find special tiles guiding the way to the Jewish Quarter. He kept him engaged the whole tour, while also providing fascinating insights to us. Adolfo is a terrific guide! We highly recommend him.

If you love going deep on history, art and architecture, this trip is for you. Adolfo’s knowledge of all this and his love for Toledo shine through. He delves into the nuances of history beyond which you normally learn in class, he knows so much about art that my art-history knowledgeable wife learned, and he shows how they are both intertwined. My wife and I toured Toledo with a good guide book, but we learned 100 times more on this visit. And my curious 16-year old twins got so much out of it, too. We highly recommend this tour.

Adolfo is the best tour Guide we had so far in Spain. He has a wealth of knowledge about Toledo and Spain history and he is very personable. Not only did he show us to the most important sights in Toledo, but he took us to the best places for souvenir (Talavera tile and traditional jewelry) shopping.

Adolfo is a top-notch guide for Toledo, incredibly well-versed in local history and the important role this beautiful town has played in the fascinating - and often tumultuous - history of Spain. Friendly, engaging and willing and able to educate. He knows Toledo as an insider. You will not be disappointed and will leave with fond memories to last years. Highly recommend. Enjoy!
