What to expect
  • Take a journey to one of Spain's top wine-producing regions during this full-day trip from Barcelona visiting some of Catalonia's top wineries. During the course of your experience, sample some of the area's top wines and cava, along with a selection of cheese and tapas, as you learn about the vineyards' production processes and history.  Catalonia is known as one of the country's most celebrated wine regions, boasting 11 different appellations, more than 2,000 years of wine-making history and annual production in excess of 380 million bottles. The region's output also includes cava, a sparkling wine that accounts for around 50% of the total. Depart from central Barcelona in the morning, heading first to Bodegues Jean Leon, a winery located in the center of Spain's Penedès region, for a tour of the facilities and a tasting of two of the group's award-winning wines. Head next to Bodegues Torres, where you have a chance to further immerse yourself in the unique wine-making process. Enjoy a tasting of three more wines, accompanied by local Catalonian cheeses. Finish your excursion at Caves Freixenet and spend some time learning about, and tasting, cava. Discover the process behind cava production and then sample two cavas plus some mouth-watering tapas. Throughout your day's excursion, your guide will also be available to answer questions and share entertaining tidbits that provide further context and history about this unique wine-making region. Return back to your departure point at the conclusion of the day's activity.

This tour turned out to be a surprise where I learned about John Leon and his passion for wine, never heard of him until now. One of the extra was the variety of grapes they offer tour participants to try, on the vine. I was able to taste different grapes like 'what does a Zinfandel taste like?' It helped me appreciate the complexity of wine making and the talents required. Worth the price.

Excellent!! Great way to spend the day.Great guides. Pourings were ample. Visited a small winery, medium ( had wine/cheese pairings) and huge winery. Very interesting. In the cava winery, Tram ride from deep in caves to surface was fun. At the last stop we had cava, wine and dessert. We all slept on way home.highly recommend.

We visited 3 wineries including a famous Cava maker where you are taken 30 meters underground to the caves, where it is stored.
It was a great day out and though lunch is not included, there are wine accompaniments, with generous samples of wine and cava included.
Our coach was comfortable and our guide brilliant.
As you're trying to squeeze so much in to the day, it did feel a little rushed but that's the only minor complaint.
Great value for money.

Worth every penny. Everyone involved was both polite and hugely knowledgeable. An unforgettable experience. We had our best day in Barcelona thanks to this tour.

we have got one more thing scratched off from our bucket list we always wanted to travel to Spain and we finally did it, while in Barcelona we took this wine and Cava Tour it is worth the time and the money we visited 3 different wineries and they all made us feel like we were part of their family, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly, we for sure now understand a bit more about wines , it is a place that we would love to return
