Leisurely and delicious walk around a vibrant neighborhood
Visited in the off season so our group was comfortably small (5 people plus guide). Thoughtful flow around town from starters to main to dessert in a mix of older and newer restaurants, bakeries, etc. It was an easy way to try several new foods. Our guide, Dominic, was knowledgeable and friendly. Easy to find starting point. Tasting menu can be easily adapted for vegetarians.

    Tasty tour
Alex was our excellent tour guide, he was really knowledgeable about the area and it's history. We were in a small group which was perfect for the visit to the bustling market and to some local businesses selling delicious treats, which we'd never have noticed if not for the tour, and bought some gifts to take home. We particularly appreciated Alex's attention to detail in accommodating our dietary needs (one vegetarian, one nut allergy). Highly recommended.

This is a "Must Do" experience, HIGHLY recommended!
Wow, what a way to spend the day outside of Barcelona! We thoroughly enjoyed this guided tour of the iconic Montserrat Monastery and family-run cava winery in the Penedes region. The Monastery is a quintessential Barcelona day trip destination in itself and then to head to a locally owned cava winery and meet the owner just elevates the entire experience! This is a unique combination of 2 fabulous experiences wrapped in one. The guide Valentina was absolutely wonderful, transportation was top-notch and length of the experience was spot-on. I highly recommend this quaint personalized tour to anyone looking for a unique day trip while visiting Barcelona.

This is a "Must Do" experience, HIGHLY recommended!
We stayed in Gracia and found this tour to be the perfect way to get introduced to the local neighborhood cuisine, history and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed taking this tour early in our visit and found ourselves returning to many of our tasting locations during our stay. Dom, our tour guide, who lives in Gracia, was fantastic! He was informative, friendly, articulate, detailed and very knowledgeable. He also sends a follow-up email of recommendations after the tour and is very responsive to any additional questions we had. We had a true Catalan culinary experience visiting hole-in-the-wall gems serving up home-cooked classics and regulars-only bodegas. I highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed!

    Must do experience in Barcelona!
This was one of my very favorite food tours ever. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable about the local cuisine and history. We loved comparing different foods side by side to see their unique flavor profiles. We had more then enough for breakfast and lunch. Guaranteed to have great time!

Fantastic tour, a highlight of our trip
Our tour guide Vera was absolutely brilliant! The tour was so well organised and Vera was so knowledgeable about all of the food we tasted and the areas we visited. She is an academic studying and teaching cuisines and their links to tourism so we could not have been in better hands. The tour started in the market and this gave us the understanding we needed to return on our own to buy some specialties and to have an authentic Catalan second breakfast at Bar Joan. We then toured El Born and Barceloneta with loads of things to taste and plenty of authentic drinks too including pastries, sweets, tapas and vermouth. We finished with paella and wine in Barceloneta. I highly recommend this tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona. Thank you Vera!

Our guide Vera was very informative. Gave us lots of information about the food and places we visited. The visit to the market was the start of our day which got better as the tour went on.

A great night on the town
We had a lovely evening with Valentina, who was out guide. The tour represented good value for money with plenty of tapas and drinks included. We loved the mix of history and local sights alongside the friendly conversation between our fellow tourists. There were six people in our party plus three other tourists so it was a great size too where we all felt like we had personal attention. Absolutely loved it.

    Highly recommended tour
This tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Barcelona, and set us up to confidently order and enjoy the delicious food in the city. Ariana C was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who was happy to share her knowledge of food and Catalan history, and how they connect in Barcelona. The tour was as described and we were very full of delicious food and drinks afterwards. Thanks, Ariana!

    Must-Do Food & Culture Tour!
Absolute Must-Do Tour! Fantastic evening learning about the history, architecture, and culture of the city - while having dinner and drinks along the way. Perfect pace and food selections made it a night to remember. The food and drink at our 3 stops added up to a full dinner for each of our 5 adults, so don’t eat anything before you go! If you only have 1 night in Barcelona do this tour. And if you get Dominic from the UK as your guide, you are in for a treat!

If you can only do one tour in Barcelona, let it be this one.
Our tour guide, Arianna is phenomenal. She is super knowledgable about the food culture and the history of the city. She is enthusiastic, friendly and obviously passionate about all aspects of Barcelona. By the end of the tour she had the whole group feeling like old friends in a new place.

Expected more in this foodie city. Okay tour, not excellent.
3.5/5 food and information okay, not spectacular. For a city with so much gastronomical potential I was underwhelmed by the tour... Nothing was bad... It just wasn't great. Especially a tour as expensive as this one. You could probably just go to a few markets and some older bakeries on your own.

This is a fantastic way in, to discovering the world of Barcelona tapas as well as learning about the city's history, from its earliest times.
We learned loads from our guide Owen who was friendly as well as knowledgeable. He was also very aware of our Covid safety throughout, keeping his mask on and bringing hand gel supplies.
The tapas choices were brilliant and we now feel more confident about entering bars and bodegas ourselves and ordering like locals.
We recommend this tour to all foodies and history lovers, and can't wait to do some different tours in the future.
!Gracias!

If I could give this tour more than 5 stars I would!! We had the BEST time and it was awesome taking the tour on our very first night in Barcelona! Enrique was phenomenal. He knew so much about the area and Ioved his passion for art history and the way he incorporated that into the tour. The tour itself was of the Gothic Quarter and we learned very interesting facts that we would have never known about if we were just walking around on our own. The food stops were AMAZING!!! One after the other was simply delicious! You will go home with a full stomach and are given plenty of delicious wines to try. Bar Pi became a staple location for us (particularly having their Vermouth at the front bar)! I will hold memories of this tour very close to my heart and hope that if you are traveling to Barcelona, you consider booking this tour as well! I promise you will be so happy you did!! thank you, Enrique for everything! We had a blast!!

So glad you went back to Bar del Pi! I love that place and whenever I have guests from abroad I always take them there! I hope you join us on another Devour experience in the future! All the best

Our visit to Spain involved Seville, Barcelona and Madrid, and we went on a Devour tour in each city. They were the highlights of each city. Jessica provided an excellent tour, highlighting amazing parts of the Gothic Quarter and gibving their history, including the Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, where the damage from a Civil War bomb that struck a crowded schoolyard is left as a remembrance.
The food is wonderful. A stop at Bar del Pi for history and delicious ham, tortilla de patatas, and Cava sparkling wine. Later La Plata for sausage and anchovies. And much more afterward.
By the end of the night, the groups in every city were all but friends, talking and laughing. Devour Tours captures tapas. It's not just about the food...it's about the time spent out with friends.
James Blick, of Devour Tours, was a major impetus in our going to Spain from his videos. We did the tours based on them, and we loved every one of them!

Wonderful tour of the Gothic district. Dominic (Dom) our tour guide was nothing short of an expert and was clearly very passionate about the history of the city. The small places we stopped in were local places that would never had made a “must see list” and are truly all hidden gems. All of the businesses also seemed excited to see our small group, which made for an even lovelier experience. Would gladly take this tour again. If you can, I would highly recommend requesting a tour with Dom!

This was a very engaging and fulfilling tour. Our guide, Vera, led our group of 7 throughout the streets of the Gothic Quarter, providing a wealth of knowledge on not just food, but this history of the city. The three spots we ate and drank at had their own unique character, and each site provided us with new tastes and experiences.

Vera was engaging and informative, and was more than willing to answer all of our questions and provide recommendations for how to maximize our remaining days in Barcelona.

I would highly recommend this tour, and would urge you to do it early on in your visit so that you can take the new knowledge you have and apply it to the rest of your trip.

My sister and I joined the Tapas, Taverns and History tour led by Alex when we were in Barcelona last week and had a fantastic time. Alex is really knowledgeable and enthusiastic and made the evening both fun and educational. We visited places we would never have found on our own and explored areas that came alive with his background information. Joining a Devour Tour at the start of a city break is a great way to get a feel for a city -- this is the second one I've done (the other in Seville) and I highly recommend it!

I signed up for this tour after a very enjoyable experience with Devour Madrid a few years ago, and this tour lived up to the high expectations left by the previous one. Our guide Valentina was excellent. From her I learnt far much more about Barcelona and its history than I would ever have the time to read up on on my own, and in a very engaging way as well, while enjoying top-quality food and drink that was sufficient to cover me for dinner. She also did a great job at helping to break the ice among the different tour participants and made the effort to speak to each and every one of us when the opportunity arose. (Recommendation: For those not used to having dinner at the relatively late time the Spaniards are used to, booking an earlier tour gives you an opportunity to still eat the good stuff without worrying about eating too late in the day).

Ariana was wonderful in taking around our family of 5 throughout Barcelona's Gothic Quarter for a walking history and food tour. Her energy, enthusiasm, pace, and kindness was greatly appreciated. Not only was it the perfect entry tour for first-time visitors (our parents), but it helped them to become more comfortable and familiar with the city center, the evolution of the architecture, and some of the traditions of popping around for bites/beverages here and there. We could not recommend this tour or Ariana enough - a "must do" if you're a first time visitor, not a native speaker, and enjoy the combination of food & history to get to know a new place!

Fabulous tour round Barcelonas central area. We visited three tapas places Bar del Pi, La Plata and Bodega La Palma. Tables were reserved for us so more time spent tasting the wonderful flavoursome local dishes. I can’t believe how much food (and drink) we had, such great value for money. Our guide Ferran explained the history of the city clearly and informatively as we meandered through the streets and alleys. He was able to answer all our questions. We couldn’t persuade him to join in the local dancing, even though he said he had been taught it at school ! Felt very safe throughout. Lovely small group.

Can’t say enough good things about our Devour food tour with Francesc, it was, quite simply, the cat’s pajamas. Each stop along the tour provided a wonderful glimpse of the tastes and culture of Catalunya. The food at each stop was nothing short of a fancy feast but don’t worry, no cat food; instead we were treated to some of the highest quality jamon, cava, and patatas bravas that Barcelona has to offer. On a silly note, one of the tour participants spilled a glass of red wine on another participant. Showing off the reflexes of a jungle cat our guide sprang into action as he marshaled resources to help clean up the mess. In the end, all was well and we kept the good times rolling.

Another wonderful component of the tour was the brief but intriguing dive into the rich history of Barcelona. The cat did not have Francesc’ tongue as his love for Barcelona, and all of Catalunya, shone through.

The tour was primarily in and around Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, a beautiful maze of narrow curved streets with beauty and history around every turn. It must have been like herding cats keeping the group together amongst all the hustle and bustle, but Francesc did a masterful job of keeping us all on-track. All in all, the tour was great - delicious food, beautiful architecture, and amazing people!
