About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- giantstephan0 contributionsVery Inflexible operatorIf you are late by even a few minutes, your money is gone. This tour operator has no office or representative in Barcelona. They are based in Madrid. We were late by a bit for our tour and were told that if we are late, that’s it. They cannot put us on any other tour. While being late is my fault, I thought it was remarkably rigid that they couldn’t put us on another tour that day. This is at La sagrada Familia, with hundreds of tours every day - I find it hard to believe their stanceWritten 17 December 2023

- Anurag A0 contributionsGirona experience with Vera! While at Barcelona, I took a quick half-day tour to Girona and it was a fabulous experience. Our guide was Vera - the BEST that you can get! She was fun, friendly, witty, informative and VERY WARM. Of course, the beauty and culture of Girona made the overall experience even better! I'm a big Game of Thrones (GoT) fan, and Vera very meticulously highlighted the places where GoT filming took place! Vera mentioned she takes the Dali museum tour as well! I've not personally taken it, but I can tell you that if VERA is your guide, then you're all set! Here's wishing VERA and the IBE TOURS folks the very best! Cheers! AnuragWritten 3 September 2018

- Bijil Simon A0 contributionsMarvellous trip and GuideWent to Gerona and for the Dali Experience, with a tour guide named Janos [I hope I spelt it right- he is Greek]. Janos was pleasant and clearly a people person, who was calm and clear. He was helpful [offered alternatives for my elderly mother], knowledgeable, offering advice on attractions with clearly a good awareness of Barcelona, Gerona and about Dali. We as a family of 6, enjoyed the whole day trip.Written 14 August 2018
- Jake L0 contributionsPatrick was outstanding! We started off our week in Barcelona with the Sandeman’s free walking tour of the Gothic Quarter with Patrick as our tour guide. We enjoyed his dynamic delivery and upbeat energy so much that we decided to join him again later in the week for this tour up to Montserrat and Colonia Güell. A family from Colombia was part of the group for this trip, so we had the pleasure of watching Patrick seamlessly alternate between English and Spanish while sharing his vast knowledge of the historical and cultural impacts of the subjects of the tour! His talent in managing the tour this way really amazed us. It was especially great to see his sense of humor come through in both languages. The views from Montserrat were lovely, and it was fascinating to see how Gaudi used the unfinished church at Colonia Güell to refine his artful architecture that would appear in La Sagrada Familia. I could not recommend any tour with Patrick more highly!Written 2 August 2018
- Victor Manuel B0 contributionsDon't miss this Tour!!!A fantastic day trip. Our tour guide Marcelo was great. He was knowledgeable, funny, and totally enhanced our visit. The views from the castle view point were beautiful. The winery afterward was amazing, the wines were quite good (we bought a couple bottles!). the group was small, which is perfect and creates a better experience. the we went to visit the chocolate museum, mainly to see the making of the chocolate. Great place to visit for people of all ages. Loads of information Free tasting of chocolate, insight into history of chocolate and into manufacturing process, with a view into a production line - and free 'quality control' sample. Loads of types of chocolate. Overall, we had a great time.Written 11 May 2018

The Sagrada Familia is a unique experience. In some ways, especially from the outside, it resembles a caricature of what one expects a church to look like. In other ways it is a remarkable piece of modern sculpture.
The stained glass is amazing and the space grand. It is also extremely hot and lacks cross ventilation of any kind. Heat related problems are a real issue.
Additionally, they don’t tell you when signing up for the tower extra that while you go up in an elevator and come down by steps, there are 400 steps, in a tight spiral, half of which have no handrail. We paid extra only to discover at the time that it was physically beyond most people’s abilities. I don’t like that kind of manipulation.
The tour guide, Rosa, was very enthusiastic about her subject, but nearly impossible to understand. Even with the sound system she employed all I heard was mumbling.
Skip the tour if you can get your own tickets.

This place is surely one if the most iconic places on earth. The masterpiece speaks for itself, and so are the prices of the tickets.
I reccommend all of you to prenotate your tickets before going in there to avoid long queues and waste of time.
The staff and security were kind enough to assist use because I'm a person in wheelchair so I needed it.
People like myself (with disability) and kids under 12 years old are free to go in (including the person that would accompany the disabled person). We are 5 in the family so one of has had to get a standard ticket.
I highly suggest you to be on time and respect the time that is written to your ticket because they could not let you in and would need to buy another one.
The security were as tight as the airport.
They also had lifts and a well structered facility for accessibilty.
One thing to note that if you wanna access the second floor upstairs you unfortunately need to pay for another ticket.
The museum downstairs are included in the standard tickets tough so you don't have to worry about that.
The souvenirs were obviously expensive and will literally burn your wallet.
Overall it's a great experience with a well structered facilities.

I had high expectations for my visit to the Sagrada Familia, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The first issue was the overwhelming crowd. Despite having a timed entry ticket, the sheer number of people made it nearly impossible to enjoy the experience. The lines were long, and even inside, it was difficult to move around freely or take in the architecture without being jostled.
Additionally, the audio guide was lackluster. It provided basic information but lacked the depth and insight I was hoping for. The narration was dry and didn’t convey the significance or history of the site in an engaging way.
Finally, the cost of the visit felt excessive, especially given the underwhelming experience. For the price of admission, I expected a more polished and enjoyable visit.
Overall, while the Sagrada Familia is undoubtedly an architectural marvel, the visit was far from enjoyable. The overcrowding, construction disruptions, and uninspiring audio guide left me feeling more frustrated than inspired. I hope that future visitors will have a better experience, but as it stands, I can’t recommend it.

Majestic vision, awe inspiring project. There is so much in this story and the tour draws out an enormous amount of detail. Our tour guide Mark was excellent - knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth the cost, particularly once you understand that the project is entirely funded by public donations and part of your fee goes towards ongoing work.

This was a really brilliant tour. Oriol, our guide from IBE was excellent. Finding the meeting point was easy and the directions from the compony were good. Highly recommend having a guide as there is so much symbolism in the architecture that you could miss without an expert to guide you.
Whilst very busy, the size of the building means that you are still able to see and fully appreciate it. We were blessed with a glorious day of bright sunshine that transformed the interior so that it was like we were inside a calidescope. Breathtaking. We didn't go up the towers, so can't comment but the museum was worth a visit.

Excellent tour with our guide Teresa. Meeting place (pink 2) was easy to find with a bit of help from Google maps.
The ability to skip the queue is an absolute game changer, albeit be prepared to go through security.
The tour guide was interesting, engaging and knowledgeable. She didn’t rush us, nor did it feel rushed. We all had earphones/headset so we could hear her over the noise. So much better than the usual audio guide.
The towers were unguided, but well worth the extra fee for the spectacular views of the city. Be aware of the steep stairs down (there’s a lift up) and needing 50c for the lockers to put your bags in.
The architecture is breath taking and not like anything else I’ve seen. I’d love to come back and see the finished cathedral in approx 2-3 years.

The building is quite interesting from the outside but once inside there was not much to see other than stained window glass and the sunlight shining through creating different colours. The additional cost for the views was not worth it as all the views are fenced off, making it difficult to take pictures. The build concept is peculiar and that is perhaps what makes this visit unique.
Don't forget to take €1 to lock up your backpack as you can't take that up with you.
It's best to take the audio or have a guided tour as there is no information around, or inside, the building providing you with details.

We booked a guided tour for Sagrada Familia with Ibe Tours through Headout. It turned out to be a scam.
We arrived on time for the tour but could not locate the guide. We emailed Headout immediately but did not get a response. Desperate, we called and were directed to a call centre at US. The operator told us that he could not do anything to help because the local guide (from Ibe Tours) was not contactable. We went to the ticket office of Sagrada Familia for help. A Sagrada Familia staff offered to find the local guide if the tour agent could provide the name of the guide. We called Headout again to ask for the name of the guide but were told that they could not reveal the name. They also refused to email us the admission tickets that we had already paid for.
We were left in the lurch and ended up purchasing another set of tickets.
Beware, "Ibe Tours" and "Headout" are dishonest operators out to cheat tourists. We would have reported them to the relevant authority if we had known how.

Absolutely stunning and a really memorable and moving experience. Our guide, Mark from IBE, was brilliant and would recommend a guided tour to make the most of the incredible detail behind Gaudi's vision and work. Definitely book in advance. Not sure if the tower trip was of value as limited views once up there (by lift) and the descent walking down the steps was a little tricky in places?

4 days and 4 nights in Sitges, 1 hour by train to Barcelona. Sitges is quiet and right by beach. Also good night spots not too crowded. Should have trained to the city as airport-city taxi cost €76. Barcelona card is a must. Also booking 48 hours on tour bus was value for money as it allowed to see more of city.
Barcelona is bustling, even in May. Easy to get round on trains and buses once you get used to it. No trouble with pickpockets, despite warnings on travel guides.
For value, buy your water and snacks in proper supermarkets (Carrefour) so you’re not paying a premium in Barcelona central.
Mercat de la boquera is full of sights and sounds but quite expensive. €25 for fish and chips and 2 fizzy drinks. Worth a visit though.
Some bargains can be obtained from small shops along La Rambla off Plaça de Catalunya. Just need to be patient to look around.
Lockerinthecity Barcelona is a good place to stash your luggage if you want to look around before checking in or before training to the airport.

After the tour and descent from the tower can you take some more time to look around the Basillica?
Written 18 July 2023
Yes. The tower stairs exit inside the basilica and you can hang around as much ch as you like. I would recommend going to the exhibition/museum area where they have some interesting Gaudi expos and some of the things he used for designing like a fascinating mockup of the parabolic arches using string and sandbags (genius!). This area then flows into the souvenir shop and then you exit out to the street.

Hello.... I was wondering if we can access both towers? We will be in Barcelona from 15th to 25th April 2019. Thank you
Written 10 April 2019
Access is to one tower; the others are under construction. You will go up by elevator and walk down. The passage is narrow but there are alot of windows giving you excellent views of the building from many perspectives. You will see the exterior architecture very up close in a way that you will not if you do not visit the tower. Also there is section you can walk out to see even more. I highly recommend that you do this tour.
