Our guide had a lovely energy that compensated for the lack of clarity and slight issues with gallery openings. We had a general tour of the city’s art and architecture (the Cathedral, Gaudi’s buildings), not exactly contemporary art but interesting none the less. One gallery was closed and our guide couldn’t come into the MACBA as the cycle shop hadn’t provided locks for our bikes. The gallery was fabulous and we may not have visited otherwise. She thought on her feet and took us to a small studio to visit an artist friend. This was really interesting and have an insight into the art scene in Barcelona. A tour of some public graffiti spots was also great. An enjoyable morning cycling around Barcelona with a generic art theme, but if you want real insight into the contemporary art this would probably fall short.
