Outstanding tour of an iconic Gaudi masterpiece
We visited La Sagrada Familia in January 2025 and our guide, Adrian, from The Touring Pandas, was welcoming and friendly. Adrian gave us many fascinating commentaries on La Sagrada Familia, including Antoni Gaudi's intentions for the design and the way that he overcame problems when building the cathedral. Adrian helped me to notice details in the designs on the cathedral that had not been obvious to me, such as the fruit designs on the external cathedral walls and the many bas relief images of religious figures. The interior was wonderfully peaceful and the light from the stained glass windows was spectacular. Adrian was an excellent and friendly guide and made our visit to La Sagrada Familia memorable. I would be glad to do this tour again. Thank you, Adrian, and The Touring Pandas, for a superb tour.

A special place brought to life by a great tour guide
An amazing tour! We returned after 20 years to see the progress of the building and we were not disappointed. Our tour guide was Jaume - local with excellent English. You could tell he is passionate about the place and he could answer all of our questions (about Sagrada Familia and Barcelona). The history is fascinating and the building is breathtaking. The tour started outside the entrance, which meant we could explore more of the outside at the start. We gained entry through the group entrance, so didn’t have to wait in the queues. We went at 14:30 in late December and the sun was at the perfect height to create beautiful rainbows inside. A great way to see this very special place!

    Madrid's Historical Tapestry
This Madrid tour was an excellent way to explore Madrid's historical tapestry. Julian's passion, combined with the rich content of the tour, made it not just a walk through the city but a journey through time along with the amazing Prado and breathtaking Palacio. If you're visiting Madrid, this tour should be on your list. It's a blend of education, fun, and a genuine feel for the city's soul.

Olga, our guide for the Gaudi houses was very informative and kind. Alwqys check around on how we are doing on the tour and if anything she can help with. She shows and explains everything very well on all Casa Vicens, Casa Mila, and Casa Batllo. Una, our guide for the Sagrada Familia tour was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, interactive, and funny. I had never seen my 9 years old son was so attracted to tour before.

Great tour - lots to take in.
Great guide (Bernard) , very knowledgeable not just about the Sagrada Familia but the whole city of Barcelona. Took his time to explain everything in detail. We over ran time wise but was well worth the extra time.

    Great tour guide Phoebe
We got the bad luck of going to Sevilla when it was raining every day but our tour guide Phoebe went above and beyond to give us the best experience! Whatever the weather didn’t allows to enjoy she looked for other places to show us, she knows a lot of the history of Sevilla which made our tour very interesting, she was very sweet, professional and she always made sure that we had everything that we needed. Highly recommend! Thank you :)

    Guide Ruined Experience!
I had the worse tour guide ever! Started tour by asking ALL tour members, 20+ where they were from and continued to give his opinion of each city mentioned. Who cares if he has been there or what he thinks. I paid to learn about Sagrada Familia not him. His flamboyant and silly style distracted from the information he was giving. The SF was beautiful inside and it spoke for itself. I will not take a tour again with this company. The Sagrada FamiliaTour.

    Thanks to Paula!!
The tour was wonderful. Paula was very knowledgeable and really made it fun while giving us a lot of interesting information. We overheard another tour guide from a different tour company and I was extremely grateful for Paula. Your guides will make or break your visit.

Not a good value. Promised an eight-hour tour. Got a three hour tour.
we had also booked a walking tour of Madrid through a company called The Tour Guy. The Tour Guy company is a tour broker who books tours with different companies worldwide to do tours in a particular place...in this case, Madrid. Mike had used them before in other locations. Those who have read my posts in the past, you know that I am a massive fan of Tours by Locals, but since Mike had booked with them before, we went with them. I made the booking because if you are booking with The Tour Guy for the first time, you get a discount. Our tour was assigned to a company called Touring Pandas. Even though we got a local guide, I did some checking this morning and the tour company we were brokered out to is based in Korea. That in itself is interesting. I say all this to preface that we had a good tour guide. Her name was Taylor, and she is from Newcastle, England. She spoke with a beautiful British accent and has lived in Madrid for four years. She knew all about the city and shared great tips with us for food and drink after the tour. The two anchor spots of this tour (places you really want to see and learn more about) are the Royal Palace and the Prado Art Museum. So we started by walking around, catching fun and exciting parts of Madrid between our meeting spot in the Puerta Del Sol and our big morning stop, the Palace. Everything was great right up until that point. Then, the big surprise. Taylor told us that after we got in (with our pre-paid tickets—buy yours before you go because otherwise, the wait is very long), we could rent audio guides that would take us through the entire Palace. Mike said, "Well, we won't need those since you will give us a live tour." Taylor said, "No, I don't come in with you. I'll leave you here to tour the Palace and then have lunch on your own. I will meet you in a park on the other side of Madrid at 3:00 pm. We will tour the park, and then I will take you to the Prado, where you have pre-reserved tickets, and you will tour The Prado on your own as well." You could have knocked me over with a feather. I know Mike was surprised as well. We had paid for an eight-hour tour (it says that on our reservation), but this meant we were getting about a three-hour tour. That's different from what we were looking for. We wanted what we had the day before with Fernando in Toledo: a guide who was with us from the time we got out of our van until we finished at the end of the day, who took us into museums and cathedrals and didn't just drop us off outside of them.

Jekaterina was a fantastic guide for our 2 hour walking tour of the Gothic Tour. Very knowledgable and engaging. My family really enjoyed the tour and learnt loads about the history of Barcelona. Would definitely recommend booking the tour.

Raul makes the Sagrada Familia accessible and enjoyable
Raul from the Touring Panda Company was the best tour guide ever. He unpacked so many wonderful details about the beautiful Sagrada Familia basilica and was really very engaging. He made every person in the party feel special and welcome. I would highly recommend using Raul from the Touring Panda Company if ever you're in Barcelona. And the basilica is absolutely breathtaking with such a fascinating story. Imagine a church, not yet fully built, but being restored at the same time. I've got lots of reading and research ahead of me because my interest has really been piqued by this fascinating landmark. Can't wait!
