About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Gumby0010 contributionsGood Introduction To The Jewish History Of Girona…..During our 4 day stay in Barcelona, my wife and I decided to make a side trip to Girona so we could see the Old Town and remnants of their Jewish community. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Our guide, Ona, walked us through the Medieval Old Town of Girona with an emphasis on items of Jewish interest. She offered lots of anecdotes and stories about various historical people and places along the way. - The most time…1 out of the 3 hour tour…was spent at the Jewish Museum which was certainly worth the visit. - Ona was friendly so we were also able to get to know her on a personal level. Our train got a late start (30 minutes) so I reached her by phone and made simple arrangements to meet. - Cost of the tour was very reasonable…$98 for 2 people. Cons: - Girona is about 40 miles northeast of Barcelona using the high speed train. That might not be a con. In fact, I like trains. But the train station in Barcelona is huge and a zoo. - While Ona was full of information, her accent was quite strong which made understanding her words a bit difficult when she spoke more quickly at times. All in all, it was a worthwhile tour and one we will not forget.Written 12 December 2024
- 531manans0 contributionsGOT Tour with celebrity guideThis tour is worth every penny. The tour guide was a local and very knowledgable. He showed us around streets of Girona, talked about it’s history and how it has evolved over time. Our tour guide also worked in GOT series which was amazing. He described his experience working with HBO team and other stories from that series. Overall very satisfied with this tourWritten 5 December 2024
- Y5128RIjohnj0 contributionsA wonderful private tour with spectacular photo opportunities and a great lunch stop. One beautiful, historic, and unique village after another, explained in flawless English by Miguel, who grew up in those villages, pointing out the castle moat he played in as a child and the village pavement his uncle supervised.Written 1 December 2024
- Quest134328416930 contributionsExcellentJordi is a knowledgeable tour guide, he kept a good pace and paid attention to our small group. This was our first Viator experience and we hope that all tour guides are equally qualified and excited to engage with the tourists.Written 1 December 2024
- Llozano010 contributionsBest experience of the Costa BravaThis was an amazing experience in every way. Miguel, Jordi and Alex were exceptional guides very kind and knowlegeable about history of the region. Definitely this trip is highly recommended!Written 25 November 2024
- Emanuel S0 contributionsWonderful tour of the Jewish QuarterThis past week, my wife and I enjoyed an excellent tour of the Girona Jewish Quarter. Our guide, Mike (or Miguel) is extremely knowledgeable about both the general history and the medieval Jewish history of the area. The Old City of Girona is beautiful and atmospheric; it was used to film scenes from Game of Thrones. And the still evident signs of medieval Jewish life in the area is absolutely fascinating. In short, this is a highly worthwhile and enjoyable tour.Written 17 November 2024
- B7333PXsamg0 contributionsVery fresh and interesting tour.We truly enjoyed the tour of Girona with our guide. She lives there and was very familiar with many of the customs and history of what had taken place and what she had experienced. It was very lengthy and enjoyable, and we got to see the key points of the city. She also gave us tips on things to do and see in our own time. I would recommend it to most anyone.Written 12 November 2024
- MarMarMarMar0 contributionsGreat Tour of GironaExcellent tour by Anna. Gave us all the information we needed in an entertaining way. Also food tips which we followed. Her recommendations were great- especially the xiuxo!Written 11 November 2024
- Kurt L0 contributionsWonderful time hitting the HighlightsWe were fortunate to come during a slow period and we were the only ones on the tour. Gave us lots time to ask questions and learn about the culture of Girona, not just the 3 places we visited. Ona was our tour guide and wow is she a smart individual and a great representative for the tour agency and Girona. She knew so much about the history and the present day that my very intelligent wife was able to have long conversations about all aspects of life and culture in Girona and the US. The cathedral was beautiful and full of cool historical objects dating back to the 11th century. The Arab baths were nice and Saint Feliu Basilica had some interesting history but this high rating was for the Cathedral, the history of Girona, and Ona, our guide. Ona also directed us to the best part of the ancient wall to walk and had plenty of food recommendations for us. She went above and beyond to make our visit to Girona the best it could be. I recommend this tour for anyone visiting Girona.Written 6 November 2024
- ripleycal0 contributionsTerrific tour that dove deep into "Game of Thrones" production as well as local historyJordi our tour guide spoke excellent English and shared with our small group details of local history and architecture and a few current details about things and also showed us several sites used in the making of "Game of Thrones," with full details about the storylines, behind-the-scenes production and even clips and images from the episodes in question. Very informative and illuminating. He also took time to answer questions and even did real-time research if he did not know the answers.Written 6 November 2024
- pepito5060 contributionsSuch a lovely tour! 5 stars!Anna was an exceptional guide! Her English is excellent, and it’s inspiring to see such a young woman with so much knowledge and passion for her city. She brought Girona’s fascinating legends and history to life, sharing unique stories you wouldn’t hear otherwise. Anna’s enthusiasm for her city is contagious, and she makes every stop along the way feel special. I highly recommend her tour for anyone wanting an in-depth, engaging experience in Girona!Written 5 November 2024
- pepito5060 contributionsGreat tour in great city!I had an unforgettable experience with Mike as my guide! His English is flawless, making everything easy to follow, and you can genuinely feel the passion he has for his city and Game of Thrones. As someone who was actually part of the filming as an extra, he adds an incredible layer of insight to the tour, even taking you to the exact spots where iconic scenes were filmed. Mike is funny, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the entire experience both entertaining and informative. I HIGHLY recommend him—don’t miss this chance if you’re a GOT fan or just want an amazing city tour!Written 5 November 2024
- Janet880 contributionsBest tour of our trip to SpainAnna gave us the best tour experience during our visit to Spain. - sondras3700 contributionsGood, But Could Have Been MoreThere was a small group with the guide, a young woman who has obviously studied the subject. The tour was lovely and informative, but I also thought that Ona wasn't always on topic. She'd just chat for periods of time. I'm not sure if there just wasn't enough to fill the 3 hours, or if she was perhaps bored of leading this tour. Despite that, she did show us interesting points about the Jewish Quarter, The Call, and amplified what we could learn at the museum. I wish there had been a bit more about the colorful houses along the river, the history of the city itself, and the Eiffel Bridge that was unfortunately covered with a sports team's banners while we were there. I'm seeing online that there are eleven bridges in Girona. She didn't speak of this at all. And I didn't learn that the bridge we saw was the Eiffel Bridge from her, but rather from another tourist. The tour was enjoyable and informative, but could have been more.Written 26 October 2024
- mattaC6885ZD0 contributionsHighly recommendOna is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. The tour was very informative and conducted in a casual manner with lots of tips on what to do and see in the region. A stark contrast to all the other huge group tours that were starting in the same place.Written 23 October 2024

The trip is very interesting with beautiful places to see, like the medieval (and Jewish place) Besalú, Castellfollit de la roca and the small town of La Pau, but the cherry in the cake was our tour guide Àlvar. With all the information and the insights that he gave to us, he made is participant of the story of the places, like if we were living there at that time. Thank you Àlvar, we've learned a lot and we had a lot of fun

My wife and I just returned from a beautiful day exploring some charming medieval villages, hiking up and down into an inactive volcano crater as well enjoying a relaxing lakeside walk. Our tour was well organized by Gironaexperience tours & transfers. Our driver Alex and our guide Eduardo (both fluent in English) were our joyful companions for this full day tour. Eduardo was a font of local knowledge and folklore and kept us both informed and entertained throughout our day together. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed. Spending some extra time in the charming city of Girona is also highly recommended, and Gironaexperience can also provide you with a number of in town tours to round out your time here. Have fun and enjoy your stay.

A great experience visiting the small picturesque medieval towns - Besalu, Santa Pau, Castellfollit De La Roca - hiking up a volcano and having a 4 course lunch, and to finish off, a short stroll along the Banyoles lake.
The towns were what I was most looking forward to and they surely did not disappoint! What a stunning part of the country steeped in so much history!
Our guide Pete did not stutter in telling us all about the history here, he was perfect, charismatic, funny, and very passionate about the historical and present day Catalonia!
If ever we are back in Girona this company will be first choice for exploring! Save the Castle!
Thanks for a great day Pete!

We greatly enjoyed the day we spent with Eduardo and Carme touring Besalú, Banyoles, and an ancient volcano. The day gave us a glimpse into the Pre-Pyrenees area: Besalú and other medieval towns were charming; the ancient volcano was interesting; and the lake at Banyoles was very picturesque. We stopped at a local restaurant with excellent local food for lunch. All in all, a wonderful day!

Me and my partner Aaron had a fantastic time on this trip. Excellent communication prior to departure and the lovely new air conditioned minibus was there to meet us with Carmen driving us for the day and Dylan as our guide. The whole tour from start to finish was a perfect day. We loved the medieval villages and Dylan as tour guide spoke excellent English and was really friendly and knowledgeable. The hike up to the volcano and into the crater was steep and I had to take my time but Dylan and the small group were patient, it was a very hot and humid day!!! We went into a volcano crater! Just 😲! Stop for lunch was good. None of the day was rushed and the lake at the end was a beautiful end to the day. There was only 4 people on this tour and the other couple were from Australia and lovely to meet them too. Would recommend to all nature and history lovers. Our favourite tour of the holidays. Many thanks to Carmen and Dylan!!!

Absolutely fantastic and an amazing discovery! The bridge is really cool and it transport you back in time! The town of Besalu was really cool to walk through, parking is available but limited on the out skirts of the town.
The volcano no longer had a church in the middle of it, but it was the only volcano we found under this name. It was quit the hike up, not for the weary. Bring water!

Our guide was knowledgable and very well spoken. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him enjoying the beautiful scenery and learn of the history and culture of the region. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of regional cuisine after an interesting hike up and in the volcanoe crater.
