Carlos was very informative, energetic and engaged everyone. His tapas venues were all different and fabulous. o waiting in line anywhere and everyone seemed to know him. His choice of wines were also excellent. When we return to Madrid, we intend to hook up with Carlos again. Don't miss this experience.

Best TA food tour I've ever done! Food and restaurants were terrific, and Carlos was a perfect guide that made us all comfortable. He knew the area so well, and everyone seemed to love him. We stopped at 4 restaurants, all very different. The food and wine were noteworthy at each. Highly recommend. I had consider never booking another food tour after a few bad ones in the states, but this one has redeemed all!

A great way to experience some of the oldest tapas bars in Madrid. A well presented evening with the tour guide providing a good but simple history of each location

Arrived at the meeting point just on time, traffic was so bad ended up getting out of the taxi and walking the last 500m.
The guide sort of introduced herself and told as a little about the area, then we marched off to the first bar.
Bar was absolutely packed and we were squashed around a small table. Two tapas and half a glass of wine.
On to location two, again a packed location, another half glass of wine and some nice tapas, on to location three.
The guide led our group of nine through packed streets, and we were separated. Over half of the group, including ourselves tried to call on the emergency number given, even sending our location, but later found out that this was not our guides number and no person answered. Not good!
We eventually joined up and went to the third location. A very small packed bar, no table to sit at, just standing shoulder to shoulder with other people. The tour was now running late we were told.
One full glass of wine here! Nice tapa (1) prawns and garlic. We’re rushed out of here to location four.
The final bar/restaurant was the best. A table to sit at, with some room. Half a glass of wine from Madrid, nice!Nice tapas, several choices and now time to chat as a group.
Some of us ended up buying drinks for the rest of the group too.
I have given the tour three stars, mainly because of the other people that were in the group, they were so nice and a pleasure to be with.
We went on to another bar to finish the evening, chat and swap numbers.
I felt the tour was very rushed, the locations were too busy, to a point that we were crammed in or split up.
The group should not have got separated and the emergency phone number was useless, in a time when it needed to work.
For the cost of this tour (€75pp) I felt the small glasses and one glass of wine at a venue was rather mean, especially as wine in Spain is not expensive.
Tapas were nice, but not plentiful. The tour was too rushed, probably the reason we were separated in the crowds, which made us even more late.
Had it not been for the wonderful people we met on this tour, I would have given this a poor report.
I think that possibility a large contributory factor was the unusual warm weather bringing people out for the evening, which made everywhere busy, this started with our taxi getting stuck in traffic. So, possibly a lot of my negative comments were down to this and so unavoidable.
Any social distancing was impossible!

I really enjoyed the evening spent eating tapas and drinking wine under the expert guidance of Carlos. He brought us into places that it was very obvious only locals go. I would never have found these places on my own. The tapas was excellent in each and we got to drink fine reds, whites and even a special vermouth. Carlos knew what he was doing and he made a great effort to ensure we got a real feel for Madrid's tapas life. I highly recommend that you do this evening.
