An incredible day of wine
Jan 2020
Our tour was fantastic! The tour guide, Jorge, was exceptionally knowledgeable about wine AND the area, working hard to make sure everyone was getting what they needed. Two wineries and an great wine shop gave history, tasting techniques, and FANTASTIC WINES. Ending the day in Segovia was a perfect closing. It’s a long day (11+ hours), but so worth it!

Could have been better
Oct 2019
I had higher expectations about the tour, i thought we could get an intro and more deep knowledge about wine, but the information provided was very basic, i was not expecting becoming a sommelier after the tour but i thought i could have learnt more.
We visited 3 different wineries, the first one was not that big, although the quality of the wine was great, Territorio Luthier, the pairing of the wine wasnt that great, there werent that many glasses, therefore you needed to reuse yours, and if you would like to taste it better you should have a clean glass, the best wines you had to pay extra to try it.
The second one, was not impressive, it was a shop and a cellar, so not that impressive and the last one a Freixenet wine company, which was ok but you also had to pay for the best wines and only cookies with salt were given, and to clean your taste buds isnt the best choice.

For lunch we were given an hour, but there were only places to have a caña i wanted a real proper food, perhaps a improvement would be to have a pairing with real food.

Then we did a tour in Segovia but we were behind the schedule, so it was very rushed.

To summarize it, I found it very pricey for what you get, if you dont mind about used glasses or not the best food for pairing the wine, basic wine info, not that comfortable bus you could have fun

Thanks for your review. I am sorry the tour did not meet your expectations. We try to talk and teach about wine, but many times people are just in the drinking mood, however all our guides are local wine experts, sommeliers, wine makers, etc. Which day did you do the tour? Regarding the reuse of glasses, this is a common thing in Spain, we taste a wine and then clean the glass and use it again, we never thought this could be a problem, but we'll give it another thought. Although we use two or three glasses per person, so you can compare the wines. And yes, the wine tour includes a generous tasting but some wines you need to pay extra, usually for bottles over 45 euros, and up to 200 euros. We include the visit to the shop/cellar because it is a cellar from the XVI century where you can try special wines from Ribera. The wine shop is specialized in small producers of Ribera del Duero and Vega Sicilia, in fact they have the best collection of vega Sicilia in Spain. We want to give the people the opportunity to taste rare and exclusive wines in a very special setting. But I understand maybe you would have prefer another winery with a tour I am sorry you didn't find better places for lunch in Aranda, we'll take note and we'll let the guides know that they have to tell people the different options, surely we like Aranda because of the food variety. We are proud to have the best priced tour to Ribera del Duero, we try hard to keep the prices low because we want everybody to be able to enjoy our wines, and this is why we include three wineries with three wines and snacks on each winery and even Segovia. We also have private tours where you have a private transport and guide and the tour is totally customized for the traveler. We'll try to keep improving and we'll take note of your comments for this.

Excellent wine tour!
My wife and I, along with a friend of ours did this tour yesterday. We visited three very nice wineries. Each gave a different perspective of Spanish winemaking from a newer boutique winery, a traditional multigenerational winery and a larger more modern Napa-style winery.

We had lunch in a great little local restaurant. I am sure the food will change with the season but we started with some soup on a cold day. It was perfect.

At the end of the tour, we spent an hour in Segovia. This was just enough time to make us realize that our next trip to Spain needs to include at least one night here.

Enrique is a great and knowledgeable guide. He was laid back and created a fun atmosphere on the tour. I highly recommend this experience.

Fun even in the rain!
Just finished up a great day touring 3 wineries. The trip from downtown Madrid is a little over two hours but our guide Jorge made it enjoyable. The weather was rainy and cold, but who cares, we had plenty of wine and I learned a lot about Spanish wines. The ether didn’t impact the tours at all. We made 3 stops, each quite different, the first was a smaller, newer operation but plenty of high tech, the second was a multi generation family/town run winery and the last was a Modern large operation. All did a fantastic job. November is well pass the season so the tour was only 8 people and we had a blast. The transportation had plenty of comfortable seating. Plenty of wine at each stop and some tapas to accentuate the taste. We stopped in Segovia to see the aqueduct on the way back for an hour. It’s a long day but worth it.

Great wine, uncomfortable transport, rushed.
Nov 2019 • Couples
The wine tasting tour of Ribera del Duero was fantastic. We visited three outstanding wineries. Our driver was safe, informative, and professional. In general we did have fun. However...

There were seven guests on the tour. We were transported by an eight passenger minivan. The minivan was nothing short of torturously uncomfortable. The seats were hard, the seat backs were stiffly upright and wouldn’t recline, there was no legroom, no individual ventilation outlets, and nowhere to charge smart phones. For that reason alone, I wouldn’t recommend this trip or do it again.

The tour is a long day with lots of driving and we felt a bit rushed. We were only given an hour for lunch in some small unpicturesque town which had no good restaurants. This was a major disappointment. I would have gladly paid more for an organized lunch somewhere nice.

On the way back to Madrid we stopped for an hour in Segovia to see the aqueduct. Although it was interesting to see, this made the day too long. The time spent here could have better been put to use by improving lunch, spending more time at the wineries, or getting home earlier.

I would strongly recommend to the company to upgrade their transport to a larger more comfortable vehicle.

Thanks a lot. Glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and I am sorry for the inconveniences. The minivan we use is for 9 people, and 7 people is the maximum number of travelers we accommodate in the Ribera del Duero wine tour. We´ll consider the transport issue. I understand that you would have rather have a more organized lunch or more time for tasting than Segovia. This is a wine tour for all people, and some people prefer to have a longer day and visiting beautiful segovia. The lunch place is in a small town that we choose considering the itinerary as well. We are implementing some time this year another wine tour without Segovia and more focused on wine and food. And we also have our private tours, where we adapt the program to the taste of the traveler. Maybe you can try next time.
