My partner and I recently took a Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello tour with Golden Tours, guided by Nando. While there were some positive aspects, my overall experience was disappointing. Pros: - Punctuality: Our driver was on time. - Comfort: The car was new, comfortable, and air-conditioned, as promised. - Group Size: We had a small group of only six people. Cons: - Driving: Nando's driving felt reckless. He frequently sped along the winding roads, tailgated slower vehicles, and often honked aggressively. - Lunch: Although not included in the itinerary, Nando insisted we dine at a restaurant he claimed was great. He refused to share the exact restaurant's name beforehand, claiming the menu wasn't online. We paid 25€ for a mediocre set meal at La Marinella, which has a disappointing 2.6-star rating on Google. The restaurant was old and unkempt, making our only meal in Amalfi a letdown. - Boat Ride: A boat ride was not part of our itinerary, but Nando offered it for an additional 20€ per person without providing details. I declined due to potential seasickness, which seemed to irritate him. - Attitude: Nando's demeanor was rude and pushy, which was surprising given the region’s reputation for hospitality. Given my experience, I suggest considering other tour agencies in the Amalfi region. There are many options available that may offer a better experience than I had with Golden Tours.

Excellent experience! This was the perfect way for my husband and I to experience Pompeii (and "refuel" after). Our tour guide, Laura, was so knowledgeable and passionate. Without her as a guide, so much of what we see in the excavated Pompeii would have been lost on us. We learned a lot and were left awed and grateful for being able to walk those ancient streets! Following the tour with a wine tasting was perfect—especially because the grapes used by the winery, Bosco de Medico, are on Mount Vesuvius! The wine selections were delicious and generous, as was the food served. I'm still thinking about the pasta. I recommend this experience if you're planning to visit Pompeii. The guide makes a huge difference. And who doesn't love a great winery?

Visiting both Pompeii and Herculaneum on the same day is definitely worthwhile if you are pressed for time. Our tour group saw the main highlights of both sites over a full day excursion. The guide was very good at Pompeii, but at Herculaneum our group was split into two and I had another guide who was an archaeologist by profession and she was exceptionally good.

Excellent tour! Our guides, Cynthia and Katarina, were great. Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. We had a group of over 30 so they split us up so the groups were more manageable. Recommend doing this tour so you see both sites and can compare and understand the differences. It is a lot of walking but not excessive stair climbing and the guides are aware of the groups abilities and adjust as needed.

Amazing driver Pepe who was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. His driving was considerate and sensible! The towns were beautiful especially Positano and Ravello! Amalfi too busy!

Our guide and bus driver were great. Cynthia (apologies for not getting the right Italian version) was amazing. She was friendly and informative and kept a cracking pace. Always helpful and provided great insight and information.

We recently took a boat tour with Golden tours Sorrento. Our guide Francesca and skipper Nello were amazing. The Itinerary was well planned. It was a great way to explore the area. We had a great day!!

Fantastic day along the Amalfi coast. Plenty of photo stops along the way. 1 hour in Positano, several hours in Amalfi (with the option of a boat trip and lunch) and 1.5 hours in Ravello.

Hiking Mt. Vesuvius and then touring Pompeii was one of the highlights of my 10 day trip to Italy with my 14 year old son. Our guide for Vesuvius was Mario - he was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Depending on your physical shape, I'm not sure I would call it a hike. It's more of a long walk up a hill, but the views were breathtaking and it was amazing to think about the power behind the volcano. Our guide for Pompeii was also fantastic (I can't remember her name now) - she is an actual working archeologist and had so much insight into what went on in Pompeii it really provided great context. The only down side of the Pompeii trip is that 2 hours is not nearly enough to see everything. Luckily for us, that was the second half of our tour that day so we were able to spend more time on our own. I would suggest they always do it that way to allow people the time to explore (as opposed to doing Pompeii first and then Vesuvius which was what was originally scheduled).

Just returned today 18th August from Amalfi sharing tour. Only plus point was that driver arrived on time but then the tour went badly downhill. Driver spoke very bad English and we couldn’t hear him at the back of the mini van. He didn’t give out much information. Our first stop was Positano for 1 hr. It was rushed and not worth the visit, 2nd stop was Amalfi. Here we had 2 hrs, after that we went to Ravello for 1 hour. The whole tour was rushed guide was very angry mumbling under his breath at drivers on the road and on the way back he flew over the hills with no explanations as to where we were he just didn’t speak. The whole trip just felt very uncomfortable. Would never book with this company again.

Desiree was fantastic, she showed so much enthusiasm throughout the tour despite the heat. She advocated for us while lining up for certain displays and reminded us of etiquette when visiting the site. She shared a lot of information with some good natured jokes along the way. We could tell this subject never gets old for her and that enthusiasm really rubbed off on us. We would definitely do this tour again it was fabulous- thank you!

What a brilliant day! The tour ran so smoothly with a timely pick up and drop off at our hotel. Our tour guide was amazing and so informative and friendly she made the experience a day to remember. The structure of the tour ensured we had enough time to get a drink at the end which saved us during a hot day. We would 100% recommend this tour!

We enjoyed a modern air-conditioned bus with the pick-up directly at the hotel, a marvellous trip down history lane with our witty tourguide Cinzia, who shared her immense knowledge throughout the trip. Especially in Pompeii the „skip the line“ entry was a real advantage. The local lunch was also very tasty. We suggest to bring water, an umbrella or hat for the sun and sun screen. In short: Our driver didn’t show up at all, so we were late to the tour. We only got half of the tour time because of this, but our guide was amazing. On the way back, the company and the driver were not communicating so we didn’t get to where we needed to go. Our pickup was incredibly bad and unprofessional. We were scheduled to be picked up at 8:30, however the driver said the pickup was at 9, after calling to confirm. We sat outside and waited for an hour and a half, while the company struggled to justify why the driver was not there. Apparently, the driver had picked up the wrong people, and there were no more drivers available, so we had to wait. When we sent a message to Golden Tours asking if we would make our tour, they responded with just “🙏”. We ended up having to take a € 400 taxi to Herculaneum to make sure we could arrive on time for the tour. Once we were there, the tour guide was amazing. Even though we only had an hour for the tour rather than two (because of the driver issues), she made the most out of our time and made sure we were able to look around on our own. The tour itself was very interesting and our guide was able to answer all of our questions with great knowledge. When it was time for the pickup, the driver did show up on time, but refused to take us to where we had previously spoken to the company about. We needed to be dropped off in a different place because we were going to miss our next reservation, however the driver refused to go to the correct place, despite our confirmation with Golden Tours that it was possible.

Goldentours was recommended to me prior to my trip to Sorrento. I wanted a private car for a tour down the Amalfi coast and Goldentours provided a prompt efficient and friendly service. Our English speaking driver was knowledgeable and attentive. He took us to places not on our list and phoned ahead to book a table for lunch.
