A tour of Pompeii without a guide would be a waste of time. You can’t begin to appreciate the intricacies of the city or its history. Lucio Vinaccia is an exceptional guide with detailed knowledge of the city and he conveys a wonderful perception of the daily lives of the citizens of Pompeii. We took a partial day tour and only scratched the surface of Pompeii’s history and demise. I’m certain we will return for more from Lucio.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, called us all Family. Showed us hidden facts we would never findon our own. Loved it!!

Booked via get your guide, meeting place was wrong, we arrived there 40 minutes early, wasn't clear that we need to exchange our voucher for tickets, and we never found the tour. Terrible instructions, have done many tours, worst explanations I've ever seen. I fully expect this should be refunded.

We just returned from a week in Italy and had the pleasure of having Lucio Vinaccia as our tour guide in Pompeii. he is SO knowledgeable! The heat was really getting to my husband and he was very accommodating so we could take our time. Any questions that I had, he knew the answers to. I wish I had more time as I would have loved to have toured the other areas as well with him. Definitely a reason to go back!

We recently visited Pompeii on a day trip from Rome and found that booking a guided tour through Guided Tours of Pompeii with Livio to be one of the smartest decisions we made. Our guide, Francesca, was passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii and the excavations. Over the course of 2.5 hours, Francesca gave us enough information to be comfortable returning to Pompeii in the future without a guide, able to identify the uses of unmarked buildings on our own. Pompeii is such a treasure but it's so extensive and it would be hard to have a broad understanding of what you're seeing without someone to help. Francesca did a great job. I can't recommend Guided Tours with Livio highly enough.

Lalo was fantastic! The tour was a special gift for our son, an archaeologist. Lalo was very engaging and made it a memorable experience for him.

We were referred to Lucio by another guide in Positano. It was a last minute decision to tour Pompei and Lucio was very accommodating. We LOVED every minute of our time with Lucio and would have kept throwing money at him if he would have continued talking. We all agreed that we would not have appreciated Pompei nearly as much without his expert knowledge. He is funny and engaging and his tour was a highlight of our week in Italy.

Went with Lello for our Pompeii visit. He was amazing and we had a FAR better experience visiting Pompeii due to his expertise. We learned so much. Whatever I paid for this tour was worth every single euro. He was funny, engaging and extremely informed. I saw other tours. And it was clear ours was better. I would recommend him to anyone!

Having read excellent reviews on Trip Advisor for a private tour of Pompei with Lucio Vinaccia we were not disappointed. Lucio was engaging for both adults and children, sharing lots of interesting facts, he had a great wealth of knowledge. He was very accomodating, always finding the shade for us during the tour and avoiding the big groups of tourists. He met us at the station with our name on a sign and also helped us buy plasters for a blister on my daughters foot. Nothing was too much trouble and even at end of the tour he took us to buy tickets for the Vesuvisus bus. Anyone wanting a tour of Pompei should book with Lucio - email luciosorrento@yahoo.it

After reading the reviews here, we booked Lucio for our 2 hour afternoon guided tour of Pompeii today. He was fabulous. We came from Rome with all our luggage. He met us on the train platform, had arranged to store our luggage at a local restaurant, got us a table for lunch and waiting until we were finished. We started the tour at 1:30 and he was super at steering us away from the crowds and stopping in shady places. He was great with the teenagers (16 and 19) as well as my mother (78). Can’t say enough about him! He does not advertise. But here is his email. We had a wonderful tour guide, Giada, a few years ago. Our whole group really liked her nice personality (not overwhelming) and had a great knowledge of history (Masters degree). She did a great job of navigating us around the other groups so we never felt "overcrowded." I am sorry it took me so long to write my review!

Lucio was excellent. Not only did he have a wealth of knowledge, but he made the tour far more interesting than names and dates!

We did a private tour of Pompeii with Lucio Vinaccia this week and it was one of the best tours of a historical site we have ever done. Lucio is passionate about the site as he explained to us he has worked there for over 30 years. His knowledge and passion for the history clearly shows through in his descriptions of the different buildings and structures. He knows every inch of the site and maneuvers past the large tour groups effortlessly showing you details you would definitely miss if you were on your own or even in one of those large groups. He caters the tour to ensure you see the most important items for you as opposed to showing you things you may not be interested in. The site is so vast and contains so many different areas you could spend days there and still not see everything. He even managed to find shady spots to stop and chat about what we were seeing since it was a bit hot that day. I highly recommend Lucio for your private Pompeii tour!

Visiting the ruins of Pompeii is a must and we had such an amazing experience seeing the ruins with our incredible guide, Lucio Vinaccia.
