        SKETCHY Operators
Booked trip several days ahead of time. The night before, the tour operator (Fabiana +39 328 556 1404) sent a WhatsApp message saying the tour was cancelled. Left me hanging without any other real options. SHAMEFUL!! Don’t use Tripadvisor/Viator or this tour operator. Had to press to get my refund as well.

        Great walk through historic Rome.
We had a great walk through Rome taking in the sites and leaning about their importance. The ties to the movie were not as strong as we hoped for was a very interesting walking tour.

Shambolic filtering of supporters in to stadium
This is a fantastic stadium - my second visit for Italy 6 nations rugby. However on both occasions I have missed the anthems and arrived late for kick off due to the appallingly poor crowd control. On this most recent occasion it took 45 minutes to get to our seats. First you navigate a bottleneck gate with just x2 turnstiles just to get in the grounds and then further turnstiles to get in to seating bc area - Why? When you eventually get in to seating area there are very few stewards to direct you to your seats. On this occasion 60-70000 wet supporters were funnelled poorly though the grounds - luckily the camaraderie in Rugby didn’t cause too many high tension. Incidents but this was not fun and very poorly managed it put a real dampener on the whole experience.

Seeing Pompeii in a small-group a private tour is intimate and comfortable. It is highly recommended . Glad we did it!
Booked through Get your Guide, the Welcome Italy company gave is a great full day experience. Our guide ALBA and driver ARTOUR picked us up on time and the minivan was spacious and comfortable. We only had another couple with us so the group was nice and small. Alba gave a bit of info as we travelled to Pompeii and was very attentive to making sure we are all comfortable at all times. We stopped for coffee on the way there and back which was a nice break and there were lots of options to buy as snacks if needed. At Pompeii we did not spend time in queues. Our guide was very informative and had a lovely sense of humor. It was amazing to "feel" the city as it was in those days and to see how advanced the Romans were back then already. Walking through the streets made you realize how it must have been when the volcano erupted and destroyed everything in it's path. We are glad we visited the site. After Pompeii we drove to Amalfi to get a taste of the picturesque coastline. We stopped at a local stall to buy some lemons and nectarines from the area and it was delicious. We also stopped for lunch next to the water for some traditional food, with a view of course. If you get carsick please take with your tablets for motion sickness, especially on the coast. We have to comment on Artour being such a gentleman at all times, opening doors, holding bags, etc. It is also great to be able to leave your bags and jackets in the car where needed.

        Long day with stunning culture
I took this trip towards the end of a week in Rome and didn’t realise how long a day it would be. There were hassles organising the tour as they didn’t have the numbers. We ended up a very small tour (three) with a wonderful guide, who managed to fit so many iconic places into our short time in Florence. Really you need several days to see this incredible city. We stopped for a view over Florence that was just breathtaking. Pisa was beautiful but was more just a photo stop (I didn’t climb the tower). Definitely do the day if you don’t have the time - or spend at least overnight to be able to experience this stunning area properly.

Worst tour company. Do NOT book.
Do NOT book this trip! It’s a scam. I booked through Viator for a plan with a guide. During the tour, I was told that I did not book with a guide and had to pay for guide onsite. Later I filed a complaint and at first they denied this, and then later they refunded me for the amount I paid onsite which was 15 euros. The tour fee with guide was around 60-70 euros higher so you can see that they were ripping people off from the beginning. Also, you can’t communicate with this company. I told them days ahead that my hotel had changed but they would not respond. After several attempts they responded that they will pick me up at my old hotel. After texting the driver it was updated to my new hotel. The driver is nice but does not speak English so need to chat over his phone app. The phone number and website they provided was not working so there is no communication line. The plan is mentioned as 11 hours but it was 13 hours. Also it mentions Pompei, Positano, and Amalfi but you only go to the first two.

        Florence and Pisa lovly cities.
excellent organization and wise management of the route. A beautiful experience we recommend. Florence is among the most beautiful cities in the world but Pisa also has its exceptional monuments.

        Very disappointed!
I never received the message from the tour operator about change of pickup because I’m on a cruise ship and internet was not working. We arrived at the pickup time in plenty of time but either the driver left without us or didn’t show up. We missed our excursion. I tried to call the local tour operator with no success. I did receive a phone call from the driver and I spoke to him but was unable to determine what happened. We had to make other arrangements to get to the Vatican and had to purchase tickets. I’m very unhappy with my the service.

DO NOT USE THIS UNRELIABLE COMPANY!
DO NOT USE THIS UNRELIABLE COMPANY. This company canceled, not one, but two transfers 24 3/4 hours out. One transfer belonged to us. The other was our friend's. In this company's email to us, they offered no reason. Fortunately, we saw the email right away. This left us, while currently in the middle of another excursion, scrambling for a new plan. Our friends didn't find the email until the last minute. We booked through Viator and contacted them. Viator couldn't reach them for an explanation. This is not the experience you want on your vacation. No one wants to wonder if the company they are dealing with will actually come through with their promises.

        DO NOT use these transfers.
We used this service in October 2024. WOULD NEVER USE THIS SERVICE!!! Driver picked us up early (6 x 70 yos with major heavy luggage) from cruise port, 20 minutes early. Trip to Rome OK. Then he dropped us 45 minutes walk to our hotel over cobblestones with our bags to drag, horrid end of trip. We tried through Viator to have a refund when we returned to Aussie, no help from them. Refund denied as he said there was not access to our hotel. We had another transfer from our hotel in same sort of vehicle to airport when we left. Truth was, road was blocked due to marathon, which he knew about when he picked us up early. ("every sunday") This cleared 20 minutes after he dumped us, so he could have waited or offered some assistance to drop luggage later. Sadly have used Viator many, many times, will consider other sites in future.

Highly recommend this tour even if you’re not a fan of the book or movie.
This was such a great walking tour. We loved all the references to the novel and movie, but simply getting to spend the morning with a local in such a small group was awesome. We asked a million and one questions, and Felice was very knowledgeable and courteous. It was like hanging out with a friend. He even took us to his favorite espresso bar.

        Great tour and guide
Very interesting. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend and even do it again based on her knowledge and pass for Roman history.

        A failure of service
The car did not meet our flight. When we called to ask what had happened, the company offered to send a car two hours later.

Lá fica a torre e o Palazzo Público. Vale a visita!!!
