The tour was amazing. We went to Naples for a while, and then to Pompeii and saw all of the ancient ruins. Our guide, Eleonora (bless her heart), was friendly, charismatic, and responsible. Couldn't have asked for anyone better. Her colleague, Richard, was also very kind and helpful. The guy who led us around Naples and Pompeii, Guido, was amazing and funny. Our first bus driver, Luca, was safe and professional. However, this is where the bad part comes in. The second bus driver, Daniel, was rude, reckless, and incompetent. He didn't speak a lick of English, which made it impossible to communicate. We were supposed to be dropped off at our hotel around 8:30 p.m. (20:30), but we didn't arrive for another two hours. Daniel did not ever stop near our hotel, had to ask for directions on at least 4 separate occasions, and nearly took out some stop lights because he turned onto a narrow road. He then begins driving to what was apparently the final stop, which was a hotel all the way out near Fiumicino Intl. airport. First of all, he didn't even know how to get there, secondly, when he saw that we were still on the bus, he tried to kick us off. He claimed that he stopped near where we were staying (totally false), and argued that he was supposed to drop us off at a certain plaza. He then called his boss, who then reaffirmed that he was wrong. Finally, he goes back to his seat and drives back to Old Rome, but doesn't even drop us off at the right hotel. We got off anyway because we couldn't stand his attitude or idiocy. We took a cab and got there in 5 minutes. Long story short: Great tour, amazing leader (Elle), fun guide (Guido), and good driver (Luca). Daniel was a horrible driver with a bad attitude. He needs to be fired. If it weren't for him, my review would be 5 stars, but unfortunately, that experience brought the rating down.

There was a multi-stop shuttle van collection service from my hotel to their booking office which was actually not that far from the Termini train station. The coach was comfortable on the way down to Naples where the coach dropped off those going on the island tour. We then did a quick sight seeing circuit of central Naples before heading off to the Cameo factory which was an obvious cash cow as the explanation of the manufacturing process was rushed so as we could be ushered into the shop area, the problem with cameo jewelry is it looks like stuff from a bygone era with few modern designs to be seen. After this stop we were then taken for lunch in Pompei, which was of pretty low quality, a piece of pork dragged out of a soup pot was the popular consensus amongst my fellow travelers. Now onto Pompeii, I have been on other audio tours and this one had the worst audio quality made worse by our guide rambling in both barely intelligible English and Spanish, to the point at the end you gave up listening and just went with the flow. I would recommend you enable GPS on your phone and use a mapping service like OSM maps with track recording enabled so you research later what you saw and walked past. The condition of the streets and buildings are amazing with many still having their original coloring visible, this is worth visiting in person and I would recommend seeking out a single language tour to get the most from your visit.

The trip from Rome to Naples/Pompeii was very good and our guide Silvia was fantastic. She did a great job juggling the four languages she was speaking to explain everything (Italian was more for her, the bus driver and other local people; English, French and Spanish). The bus ride was a bit long but it was sure better than driving ourselves! The lunch in Pompeii was fantastic and more than I imagined it would be. It was a full-course lunch - all but the drinks were included and they had a lot of choices for drinks.

The Pompeii tour guide was a bit hard to understand, but he did okay. We got to hear about the history and some specific details about various points of interest around the village.

All in all, a very good trip

This was absolutely the worst tour I've taken. It was supposed to be bilingual, but it was very clear the guide was more comfortable speaking Spanish because only about 20 percent of the tour was in English. So we were just wondering around looking at stuff but had no idea what we were looking at. And they made us stop for what seemed like forever at a store just for shopping. Don't waste your time or money on this. It was my least favorite day on our trip.

This was our 2nd trip to Rome so we decided to see Pompeii this time. We paid over 300 Euros for both of us. The driver picked us up at hotel at 6:30am and dropped is off by 6:50am at Green line office for a 7:30am departure. So far so good. Marina, our main tour guide on the bus had an annoying voice, difficult to understand at times. Luckily the scenery was beautiful. We stopped at a restaurant for lunch. It was average at best, but multiple courses. The grilled swordfish was fishy-not fresh. We left from inside restaurant to go smoke a cigarette, walking around to back parking lot near bus, which we thought we were going to board to get to Pompeii. There were still people eating their dessert when we left. We had 1 cigarette, and saw no one coming (5 min), so we walked back around (1 min) and the group was GONE. Imagine our HORROR being stranded. Thankfully, the restaurant people were so helpful and called the tour guide. The restaurant person walked us over to where the group was waiting for admission to Pompeii. My reason for the poor review: the tour guide, Marina, was RUDE! They waited less than 5 minutes for us near the entrance, AND besides, they should have taken a head count. Instead of saying sorry we left without you or even just glad you made it OK...she was rude and insulting, stormed off to leave us with secondary guide, Guido. Although the tour of Pompeii was lovely, my husband and I felt Guido could have at least tried to smooth things over or offer an apology. I repeated multiple times we DID NOT HAVE A MEETING POINT after dinner and we were right next to the bus. Marina insisted she told us....If she did, we would have been there. Who would purposefully lose the group?? Obviously, she did not communicate clearly. The multiple drop offs at end of tour were chaotic. They dropped people off at various points and the whole thing felt rushed. Marina even yelling at one point for passengers not getting off at their stop. I mean really??? You are in a foreign place, and unsure. She was obviously NOT being clear w her communication. On the whole, the trip was not worth the money. We will never use Green line again when traveling to Rome.

We went on a bilingual tour, paid 120 euro per person. We felt like the whole point of the trip is to get even more money. So, first, we went to Naples and only had 15 minutes on the shore for pictures. After that they do a quick tour on the bus on the center of naples. So, I just feel like I didn't know Naples properly. After that they went closer to the vesuvio... To stop at a handicraft shop. (They sold some overpriced shell and murano glass Jewelry). After that they stop at a restaurant in pompeii so we can't eat the lunch included in the package. The lunch wasn't even that good and they didn't include drinks, we had to pay for them. Also, there was a guy singing and playing a guitar too loudly and kinda ruined the lunch as well, and he went on the tables waiting for a tip, made us uncomfortable. After that no free time to explore, we went straight to the excavation site in pompeii. The tour was horrible, we couldn't listen to the guide well, he is called Mr Ferdinando. He, at the end of the tour, kept hinting about tipping him, it was very uncomfortable. After that only 15 minutes to explore and go to the toilet and we went back to rome.
At the end we made a stop at a convenience store forcing us to buy limoncello, that was more expensive that the ones in Rome.

Honestly, when you go to a tour like that, even more when this expensive, you don't expect it to be this bad and demand you that much extra money.

For comparison, we went on a tour for 80 euro in firenze we had 50 minutes free on Siena, 1:30 hour in San giminiano and 50 minutes in pizza. The guide was way better, they didn't try to extort more money from us and the lunch was one of the best pasta we ever had and the lunch included salami and free unrestricted 4 types of wine.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR.

The guide forced everyone to get off the bus to the tourist trap spots (cameo shop) and souvenir shop. The sword fish was not fresh at all. Lots of people could not finish the meal. In Pompeii, the local guide spoke 2 languages and couldn't make both good. We felt so bored and it rained all day. At the end, we have to wait for another groups of tourists from Capri island for another 45 mins. We ended up coming back to Rome at 8.45pm. IT was horrible and the tour forced tourists to get off the bus to buy somethings at the shops. Commission is a big thing in this tour. The fee for the tour was not cheap as well.

They really are great about picking you up at your hotel on time and allowing time for eating and bathroom breaks, which is a concern when you're spending 13 hours with a tour company.

13 hours sounds overwhelming but because they pace everything so well and make it as easy as possible for you, it's very doable.

I didn't expect the hour or so long tour of Naples on the way, but that's kind of cool given I may never get to Naples again. You drive around in a bus and see a few things. It's not the best part of the tour.

It was nice to get out of the City and see the countryside a little, just to get a feel for Italy.

Once at Pompeii the lunch is quite nice. The food was good and they provided more than expected so that's a nice part of the trip, too.

The major drawback was our tour guide leading up to and at Pompeii. His English was so poor that it was super difficult to understand what he meant. He also forgot to mention what we were looking at most of the time. He didn't provide any background. He didn't tell you what to expect or why anything you were looking at was significant. He seemed to know the most about the house of prostitution, honestly, but even there he didn't share much. I think perhaps if you speak Spanish you will get more from the tour. I think he gave more detail in Spanish. He completely forgot to provide important information about Pompeii. It was a little sad because here you fly to Rome and then spend 13 hours to go to Pompeii for three hours and you leave knowing the same amount you knew when you arrived. However, of course, going to Pompeii is a great experience, so it's worth going anyway.

We didn't go in the museum and I gather there was a lot of really great stuff in there like bodies and other things you'd hope to see there. That was disappointing.

There was also no time for souvenir shopping which I thought we would have. We were bused to a coral store to promote cameos to us, which are pretty much worthless in this era. Of course we would have rather had that time for souvenir shopping at Pompeii. Most of us will never get back there.

At the end of the day I would recommend doing a 13-hour tour to Pompeii. I would choose a different company with a better tour guide, though. He was really, really, really disappointing.

We took this tour 3 weeks ago when we were on vacation in Rome. As far as the tour, great places and sights to see. I finally got a taste of REAL pizza napoletana in Naples! The bus ride was perfect and took rush hour Rome traffic off our shoulders. The guide from Green Line was great, but things went down hill a bit when we switched to a local guide in Naples. When she found out we were American, she became very rude and disrespectful! Our tour was for English/Spanish speakers and she did warm up a little when she found I spoke Spanish. However, my wife does not speak Spanish and that guide spoke mostly Spanish for the rest of the tour! The lunch and tour through downtown Naples was very nice but would have been better if our guide from Rome conducted it. She spoke Italian, Spanish, and English very well. She also had a warm personality and was very patient with us. With the exception of the local guide in Naples, I enjoyed this tour. Not sure I can recommend it because there is no guarantee of what local guide you end up with in Naples and Pompeii

We were with them for 13 hours and only got 1 3/4 hours in Pompeii! Wasted time taking us to a shell-jewelry factory that wasn't on the itinerary when we booked the trip, and fed us a bad lunch at a restaurant in the town of Pompeii. Also, asked for an English tour but were put on an English/Spanish tour, so the guide spent half the time in Pompeii (and elsewhere) speaking a language we didn't understand. Our fault for not ensuring adequate time in Pompeii and an English-only tour when booking. We'd recommend using someone else.
