What to Expect
Your day trip begins with pickup from central Rome, where you’ll board an air-conditioned coach destined for the 2,000-year-old town of Tivoli. On arrival, take a guided walking tour of Hadrian’s Villa—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former estate of a Roman emperor—and learn about what daily life would have been like here in AD 128. Following lunch at a traditional Roman restaurant, head to Villa d’Este, a former Benedictine convent that was transformed into a Renaissance palace. Explore the gardens with a guide and admire the famous Fountain of Neptune before returning to your coach for drop-off back in Rome.
Great tour filled with great information and delicious snacks and wine. A fun escape from the city! The drive out was pleasant and gave a great view of the countryside. The guide and those in site were personable and interesting to listen too.
