  • The Colosseum has changed its admission policy to ensure that only 3,000 people are allowed within the amphitheater at any given time, meaning much less crowding during busy periods. Essential tour for deep appreciation of the Colosseum and Roman Forum
Sep 2020
Francesca was a wonderful guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and brought the ancient Roman history at our feet to life with fascinating facts and stories. She was most generous with her time and willingness to answer all sorts of questions so we could understand the contrasts and similarities between human life now and in the time of Ancient Rome. A fabulous tour, covering a lot of ground both metaphorically and literally. Much recommended.

Unique and personalised experience
Mar 2020
Andrea was incredible, quite funny and so knowledgable about the area. I was lucky enough to have been part of a small group; just myself and a lovely American couple. We had ample opportunity for questions and pictures. I learned so much about the Colosseum, Roman forum and Palatine Hill. I discovered new areas unknown to me prior to having taken the tour. The fact that it was early in the morning made it possible to see all the best parts of these areas without the crowds - total win win situation!

Best tourguide in Rome
Feb 2020
Our tour guide was Fabio - very charismatic gay with a good sense of humour. He gave to us information in a very easy way, and we were laughing all the time, which really made my day! The excursion was very interesting and unusual, as we received so much information, that I even didn't expect to hear!))
We asked millions of questions, and Fabio managed to answer to all of them! I saw so many interesting details thanks to Fabio, as without him I wouldn't be able to notice. Definitely recommend this Colosseum tour!!!

Context makes all the difference...great tour.
Jan 2020
Our tour guide, Maria Grazia, was amazing. She was so friendly, encouraged questions, and took time to be sure our questions were addressed. She found good angles for photos, a couple of welcome spots to sit while we learned about our surroundings during the second half of the tour, and even an ancient water fountain. The sound system was good quality. Great tour.

Fabulous tour
Apr 2019
This tour was really comprehensive, informative and interesting. The guide was brilliant and her passion for the sites and Roman history was obvious. This wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are many flights of stairs, uneven surfaces and would cover at least a couple of kilometres by the time you have visited the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. There are amazing panoramic views over Rome from the Hill.

Thank you for the 5-star review, treesandtowns! We are delighted that you enjoyed our tour of the Colosseum, that's exactly what we aim for. While we want everyone to have a fantastic experience with us, due to the nature of Italy's paths and architecture not all of our tours are suitable for guests with mobility issues. We encourage anyone with any questions or concerns to reach out to us anytime at info@takewalks.com so that we can find the best experience for them! We hope that you loved the rest of your trip to Rome, and can't wait to welcome you back soon. Warm regards, The Walks Team

Great high-level tour
Jan 2020
Would recommend. Very knowledgeable tour guide with great information. Brisk, but not too quick, provides a thorough guide to the Forum and Colosseum. The guide was happy to answer questions, both simple and complex. It gave enough information to feel informed without dragging.

Great guide!
Dec 2019
My spouse and I visited Rome nearly 20 years ago, but this was our first visit with our nine-year-old daughter. I am so glad that we took this tour because I learned so much more about the Colosseum this time around! Our guide Michaela was fantastic with my inquisitive kid; she even gave her a job (holding the flag) so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd.
