Experience of a lifetime with Rosalba
Feb 2020
Rosalba and a driver picked us up at our hotel. We arrived at the entrance to the Vatican Museums shortly before 5 PM (the museums close at 4 pm). After passing a quick security check Rosalba showed us the mostly empty rooms of the Museums (save for some guards and occasional maintenance workers) with its endless collections of statues, frescos, paintings and tapestries. Rosalba had a lot of interesting information to share, pointed out hidden details and even kept our youngest one interested and entertained. Among others we saw the Gallery of Candelabrae and the Gallery of Tapestries. Strolling alone through the long Gallery of Maps with its ceiling glittering in gold and medieval maps of Italy hanging from the walls was an otherworldly experience, but just a sign of things to come. The Raphael Rooms with their frescos were another highlight. The crowning part was the Sistine Chapel, however, which we had all to ourselves for about 20 minutes. Due to sheer luck we were there during the single week when all of ten Raphael's tapestries were hung in the Sistine Chapel in celebration of 500 years of his death. So we not only got to seem them all at once, but also in the location they were originally intended for - and not at the Vatican Pinacoteca. After leaving the chapel we passed through long corridors full of Roman artifacts and left the museums through the Spiral Staircase.

We'd like to thank Rosalba and her team from Eyes of Rome for the experience of a lifetime!

Amazing Tour with Barbara De Rosa
Feb 2020
Our private tour guide Barbara met with us at our hotel lobby around 14:00 saturday in the afternoon. We asked her if she is able to arrange a 3 hours private tour to Vatikan. We were late but she did her best to arrange tickets and everything. She was great! I will tell all my friends around me who needs a tour guide in Rome! If I go back there again for sure I will hire Barbara again. Thank You Barbara De Rosa. All the best...

The best tour, the best guide
Sep 2019
Denis Pasolini arrived at my hotel a bit early for my evening tour of the Vatican and I am so grateful he did. He used that extra time to take me to the Palladium, as well as another famous square and fountain (spaced on the name but it was beautiful).

The tour of the Vatican was great, but made 1000 times better by the scholarly knowledge that Denis imparted throughout. His details were interesting and insightful. I've been on countless tours and so often they're dull. Not with the very handsome Denis.

The Vatican, as you've likely heard, is overwhelming in scope and art and beauty.

Truth is, I would've sped through this site on my own, but with Denis guiding me through with fascinating stories, I just relaxed into it and enjoyed.

Dear friend, It's more than great to hear you enjoyed our time together so much, it was so nice touring with you and sharing the fascinating stories of this amazing city! You got the point when mentioning that touring with a private guide provides an extra ease and comfort to your holidays: it would be sad to wander among the streets and monuments of Rome without unveiling the countless stories, secrets and anecdotes they hide. Here's what we private guides are here for: to make your Roman movie set come true! Grazie! Denis

Private Vatican Tour with Roberta
May 2019 • Family
I can't tell you how awesome our private tour was for us. Roberta was phenomenal and I would highly highly recommend her - she was so passionate, moved as fast or as slow as we wanted, had so much information that we would not have learned in a larger group or going on our own. We absolutely LOVED her and our tour.

Highly recommended tour with Katie!
Jan 2019 • Couples
Katie was such a wonderful private tour guide. To start, my husband and I totally lost track of what day it was in Rome. Katie kindly messaged us 5 minutes before we were supposed to meet at the Vatican Museum entrance and we were still basically in bed. Luckily, she told us we had a half hour before our ticket vouchers would no longer be available for pickup. We rushed like crazy in a taxi and got there in the nick of time. So again, to start we were already 30 minute late. Katie was so kind and patient! Our private tour of the Vatican included the Vatican museum including the Sistine Chapel, then St. Peter's Basilica. We cannot say enough about this tour. She gave us so many tidbits of history of the entire Vatican City throughout the couple hours we were together. As she mentioned, there are so many pieces of art in the collection, that we only focused on the highlights or else the tour would have taken days. Katie was well versed in all things Roman art history and we were impressed she knew many of the museum staff to the point where she was saying hello to some of the security guards. Overall, we highly recommend any tour with Katie!

Highly recommended. We did one organized tour and this was it. Worth the money.
Oct 2018 • Couples
Our guide was Serena, she met us at the hotel and we took a quick taxi ride to the Vatican. We moved through the entrance process quickly. She seemed to know everyone from the security guards to the other guides. She has a wealth of knowledge and listened closely to our questions and answered them thoroughly. My wife is not a "museum" or a "tour" person, but she had a great time. The tour was done in English. There is so much more to see than can be done in three hours, but the evening felt unhurried. We probably spent over half an hour in the Sistine Chapel, and with the small evening crowds, were able to enjoy it from several vantage points. No photos, so buy the book. When we were done, Serena even ordered our cab for the ride home. What was also really helpful was she showed me the Rome taxi app for my phone (mytaxi) It was nice to have for the rest of our trip. I think I saved a few euros getting to the airport the next week.

Ciao and grazie mille for your kind feedback! It was a pleasure to tour with you and your wife :) Furthermore, the Vatican Museums by night are simply amazing and I highly recommend this visit since the Museums are not overcrowded...there's a very different atmosphere inside! I am so happy to read that you are satisfied with the service and I really hope to meet you soon on your next trip to Rome! A presto! Serena

Amazing tour with Roberta. A memorable day and the highlight of our trip to Rome.
Jul 2018 • Family
We were met promptly at our apartment by Roberta and we were taken for a quick breakfast followed by an early morning entry to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel before it got too busy. Roberta was very knowledgeable and engaging and held the interest of our two girls, aged 13 and 9. She is particularly good with the children, as her background includes being an art history teacher and she is obviously enthusiastic and insightful about the subject matter. This quickly became the highlight of our tour to Rome and we would highly recommend it- especially to families. A great and memorable day. Thank you Roberta.

Grazie! You were a great family to tour with, and your girls were intelligent and lovely. I especially love touring with children- the looks on their faces really make my job worthwhile. And 'bravi' (great!) parents, for exposing your kids to travel and culture at such an impressionable age! I hope you guys can come to Rome or Italy again- there's still so much more I'd love to show you. Take care, Roberta

We hired "Eyes on Rome" and had Michela Gristina as a guide, She was fantastic, and we requested her for the following day for a ancient Rome tour. She had a background in Archeology, and made our trip great. I wish she could have traveled with us to southern Italy!!

Skip the lines and enjoy an amazing tour with Fabiana!
Jun 2018 • Friends
This private tour was worth every penny and you will not regret booking a tour through Eyes of Rome. Our tour guide, Fabiana, was extremely friendly, professional, and was very knowledgeable about the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel and the many historical facts surrounding them. Our group of 4 was extremely impressed with her knowledge and ability to keep us all involved and interested in the tour. Fabiana met us at our hotel, which was very convenient for us. She had a cab waiting for us and even provided a sightseeing tour along our route to the Vatican, pointing out restaurants or sites along the way we might want to visit. Since we booked this tour on our first day in Rome, Fabiana helped set the tone for an amazing few days in Rome. Your decision to use the Eyes of Rome tour guides will be one of the best decisions you make while you are in Rome. We had a great time with Fabiana and were extremely happy we spent the money on a private tour.
