Amazing day at beautiful Tivoli
Jul 2020
Booked this tour for 2 adults + 1 child and we absolutely loved it. The tour departed from near Cavour metro station (one stop away from Termini). The rep and driver were always there before time and were very professional. Our guide Giuseppe was simply amazing, knowledgeable and funny. He showed us round Hadrian's Villa and gorgeous Villa D'Este and gave us invaluable information on what we were seeing. He took the time to explain everything really well to our curious daughter and she absolutely loved listening to him. We even listened to Renaissance music made by one of the fountains. It was really a nice experience. Everything was very well organised and I really do recommend this tour operator.

A Worthwhile Day Out
Jan 2020 • Couples
Had a fantastic day on this outing. The pick up point is not the easiest to find but we checked this out a few days prior so we would not be late for the early start. The guide Giuseppe was informative and entertaining and we felt well looked after as he passionately showed us his home territory and taught us some Italian. Both sites were amazing to view. Beware of the amount of walking and some challenging inclines. We regretfully took up the opportunity to join the group for lunch in a recommended local restaurant but this was expensive and not particularly wonderful and was at the detriment of looking around the beautiful Tivoli as there was no time to do this. We loved Villa d’Este but unfortunately felt rushed and would loved a lot more time to explore at our own pace. Well worth the visit here particularly if you like the history.

Dear Rob, Thank you much for your review of your Tivoli day trip, we appreciate all feedback from our customers. We are so glad that you had a fantastic time and enjoyed these beautiful sites. We are glad that you found the meeting point okay, it is right above the Cavour metro so is widely accessible from all of Rome. We are happy to hear that you found Giuseppe so entertaining and helpful! We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the recommended restaurant for lunch. Most of our customers really enjoy the food there and find it worth the money, but all of our customers are free to choose another restaurant if they wish. We are glad that you enjoyed exploring Villa d’Este. Most of our customers find that they have plenty of time to explore the villa, but naturally the villa is very large and so there is always more to see! We are glad that you still had a fantastic trip, and hope to see you again in the future. Best regards, Customer Service, Enjoy Rome

Incredible sights
Nov 2019 • Couples
This was one of our favorite tours on our trip to Italy. Villa d’este is such a incredible sight I could have spent an entire day there. Even though it was raining we still managed to have a great time. I would definitively like to go back again.
Note.... there are pretty much no places to exchange money.... only atm.

Day trip to Villa D’este
It was so nice to escape the crowds of busy Rome and enjoy the coolness of the hills at Tivoli. Giuseppe our guide took us on a tour of his home town and he had such an extensive knowledge and his lovely personality added to the day. Villa D’este is truely one of Italy’s great gardens and was a memorable experience.

A must do when in Rome
This is a super trip - two UNESCO world heritage sites in one day. I’ve been to Rome many many times and have had this on my list for ages but finally visited this September. The tour is so well organised and the guide (Giuseppe) was super knowledgeable / brought the history of both places to life ( we even learned some Italian !). The sites are both specular in different ways - Can’t recommend it enough.

Top marks!

If you are visiting yourself recommend you go to Hadrian’s villa first ( as per the tour)

Amazing tour of Tivoli
Aug 2019
Our guide Giuseppe was amazing he was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area and history. Hadrian's villa was such a highlight and with Giuseppe's narrative of how things looked he brought it all to life.
A stop in Tivoli for lunch and the on to Villa d'Este with it's world Heritage gardens, so impressive with incredible gravity powered waterfalls and water pipe organ. Absolutely magnificent. This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip.

Incredible fountains
Oct 2018
We booked this as an escape from Rome (which actually wasn't as hectic as we were expecting) but Hadrian's Villa had such a peaceful air and the ponds of water and size of the villa complex was wonderful to experience. We had a nice amount of free time in Tivoli to enjoy a relaxed al fresco lunch and headed in to the Villa d'Este. I had heard the gardens were beautiful and had fountains, but nothing had prepared me for the 100's of fountains, the noise of rushing water, the playing of organ pipes, the rainbow from spray in the sunlight, the green ferns, the tranquility. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Tivoli Totally Top-Notch!
Aug 2018 • Solo
Our excellent guide Giuseppe (a native of Tivoli) was informative, knowledgeable, and highly experienced. His love for the past glories of the Roman people was obvious and infectious. He brought the Hadrian complex to life - descriptions of how things looked, how affairs were conducted, and the sheer scale of residence and all it entailed for the masters and the slaves was enthralling. A relaxed pace was taken and the prominent elements of the complex e.g the canopus was visited with time to wander on one's own and take pictures. A relaxing break in Tivoli for lunch was recuperation was followed by a tour of Villa D'Este and its World Heritage gardens and fountains. Don't go expecting to see flowers or regimented beds of colour - this is a hedge and tree garden with over 500 gravity powered waterfalls. Visually stunning and a remarkable engineering achievement from 500yrs ago. Again Giuseppe's commentary lifted the whole experience to another level of enjoyment. A truly excellent trip, well worth the money, and recommended without hesitation. Superb.

Tivoli Italy is a breath of fresh air!
Jul 2018 • Solo
Giuseppe was an excellent guide since Tivoli was his birthplace. Hadrian's Villa, the largest private residence ever constructed, was immense and came "alive" with Giuseppe's narrative. Villa d'Este and its water pipe organ with fountains driven by gravity alone, and the magnificent rooms is beyond impressive. Once you have seen Rome's treasures, it is time to get outside the city and visit these sites for their historical significance. Villa d'Este is the one sight I find myself describing to all who will listen.
