Great Guide at the Vatican Museum matters!
We enjoyed seeing the Vatican Museum so much more with our tour guide Marcello! His knowledge was priceless, as the museum can be overwhelming with all there is to see and the crowds. The meeting point was easy to find. You definitely want a great guide at the Vatican Museum and Marcello with EcoArt was ours!

    5 Stars for Assunta
It was a good idea to book a skip the line tickets to enter the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Assunta, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and she brought some illustrations to explain all the paintings and sculptures around the area. She also knows all the best spots to take a photo. We highly recommend them.

    very crowded
It is SOOOO crowded. The museum has so much to offer. But we had to keep moving. Wish we had more time at each stop. The guide spoke good English. Not interesting or entertaining, though. I could got all the information on google or chatgpt.

    EcoArt Travel is the BEST.
I recently had the privilege to visit Rome and attend an EcoArt Travel tour of the Vatican. The tour guide was Assunta, a true Art Historian! Words cannot express how impressed I was with Assunta’s professionalism, skill set, and in-depth knowledge of the Vatican and the uniqueness of the items found therein. Assunta’s engaging personality immediately made the group feel comfortable. She took the time to answer questions and made certain each member of the group (ranging from older adults to children) were given the time and attention necessary to make the Vatican tour a life-long memory! Although there are many options for tourists to choose from while in Rome, EcoArt Travel and their esteemed tour guides (such as Assunta) is what sets them apart from the competition. Respectfully, LB (USA)

This would not have been a good experience without our guide, Jeanette. The meet up was at the bottom of the stairs across the street from the Vatican. Communications the day before and directions were pretty clear. It's a lot of walking, wear good shoes. The bad side is that the Vatican, Chapel and Basilica were all ridiculously jam packed. (Glaringly apparent that this religious government is desperate for your money) It was difficult to maneuver let alone actually see anything but, Jeanette was absolutely the best. Not only was she confidant and very knowledgeable but, she was interesting, funny and engaging. She managed our group of about 20 people, which contained a wide age range, (pre-teen boys to octogenarians) like a champ. She was able to get us closer to exhibits and she pointed out things we might have otherwise missed. She did not sugar coat the history but provided accurate, well documented information in a way that wove things together memorably. Without her, we would have been sardines, trying to swim upstream. We would tour just about anything with this lady, and other guides seemed equally proficient. A big YES to Eco-Travel Rome, tour group company.

Very well organised. Cosimo was excellent. I really appreciated the (unexpected) email not only confirming the meeting point times/arrangements but also providing his contact details.

At the meeting site, he was super friendly, approachable and good fun. Kept us informed about what was happening, advised us to grab a coffee in the warm etc as we were early.

Once moving to the Vatican museum, Cosimo was efficient and professional. We moved very quickly and he then gave us some info about what to expect, what to see etc which my teen daughter and I appreciated.

We visited on a Saturday morning very early. Already the queues to buy tickets outside was crazy long, and when we left a few hours later it was just insane. had we not have brought these tickets, we would have been waiting in the cold for a VERY long time to get in. This alone made it worth it. Everything else was a bonus. Can’t rate highly enough.
Thanks Cosimo!
5* would recommend and definitely use again.

My husband and I took this tour in September 2019 with Priscilla and would highly recommend the tour through this company! Everything ran on time and we had a great time on our tour with Priscilla. She was energetic and gave an amazing tour as she was a local who shared great little known facts about the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peters. We can't wait to come back to Rome and take more tours with them!

I had visited the Vatican Museums 25 years ago but my wife had not. Travelling constantly on Eurailpasses, it was impossible to book direct so at extortionate cost we booked this grkup tour, something I have never done before for a Western city attraction.

The tour only lasted for an hour and 45 minutes given that at the start, 15 minutes was wasted waiting for some of the 22 participants to go to the toilet.

Lindy was the guide. She was pleasant but failed to mention that the day was All Souls Day, an important one in the Catholic calendar.

Far too much time was spent in the courtyard discussing the Sistene Chapel. We rushed through most of the rooms.

Better if you can to book independently and see it at your own pace, and save much money.

We signed up for this tour because the plain skip-the-line tickets were not available. So we booked this tour thinking that once in the museum we would leave the tour and just go off on our own. However, once we met our guide, Nicolette, and listened to her discussion of the Sistine Chapel (from the pictures posted outside in the courtyard) we decided to hang around. As it turns out, that was a wise decision. She was very knowledgeable and, as an archeologist, presented a really interesting perspective on many of the works of art. And she knew a lot about the art from an art-perspective as well. We really enjoyed the tour and are glad that we got to do it.

Ricardo was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable about the museum and the history and provided us a lot of education without it feeling overwhelming. He even took us to a side room that most groups skipped to see a Van Gogh painting! The Vatican was a little crowded so I would recommend booking a tour as early in the day as possible to avoid crowds. I highly recommend going with a guide as there is SO much to see and it would be hard to even know where to begin without an experienced guide like Ricardo!

Our guide was very informative and tour was good right up to the point we lost him! Not his fault necessarily as there were simply far too many people there. Vatican should limit tickets sold rather than cash in as they do with the subsequent overcrowding!

The Eternal City requires professionals to be able to be visited. It is useless to describe the wonders of Rome, you have to be there to realize it. My tour to the Vatican was led by Luciano, funny and prepared he illustrated the Wonders of this amazing masterpiece.
The Sistine Chapel leaves you breathless, with a detailed explanation you can grasp even the smallest details of this masterpiece.
Thank you guys for making this trip unforgettable.

My friend and I went ahead and paid for the 'Skip the Line: Vatican Museum + Sistine Chapel Tour' in order to save time and actually have a chance to know what we were looking at.
We ended up with Maria Laura (from EcoArt) and have a wonderful time! Worth paying for a guide!!! It's super crowded in the Vatican Museum and I would have been lost with Laura. She kept a good pace and I learned and saw a lot. She was very understanding that some in the group were on a tighter time crunch than others and stopped in front a short cut to the Sistine chapel for those who needed to move on. 10/10 would do again. All my best experiences in Rome (as I was only there for 5 days) were with guided tours. Not at all how I thought I'd feel but with such little time it really made the most of my time there.
For those who might have trouble hearing it's important to know must good guided tours these days use mics and give you ear pieces. I LOVE that because you never have trouble hearing your guide and it also allows you the freedom to roam a little on your own away from the group if you wish.

Oscar was very informative and a great guide! He was easy to listen to and engaging! I give Oscar 5/5. The staff at the beginning were very friendly as well and the meeting spot was easy to locate and identify the guides. I’m only taking 2 stars away for the company because of 2 issues. The first issue was that ticket stated Basilica Access, however we did not have a tour there. We were told it was closed Wednesday due to the Pope being there, which occurs every Wednesday morning apparently and it wasn’t communicated prior. I would have rearranged my itinerary if I knew. When our tour concluded and we parted ways with Oscar at the Sistine Chapel, it was around the time for the Basilica to re-open anyways, so I’m not sure why it wasn’t part of the tour or at least better direction for how to access it. We were told we can enter St Peter’s square for free, which we did later and saw a giant line for the Basilica. Since we were no longer on the tour, skip the line access wasn’t applicable, yet we paid the same price. The other negative I have is the earpieces. They’re little speakers with a hook to place it on your ear- the device kept falling off my ear and I had to hold it in place the whole time. Others had no issues, so I wouldn’t be discouraged based on the device. I just wish they had a headphone option instead. I do recommend this tour and want to reiterate that Oscar was great! I would have appreciated better Basilica communication (ie. skip the line access information, that it’s closed certain days/times, etc) or a discounted ticket price since it wasn’t part of the tour on this day.
