Rome Photo Fun Tours’ priority is always Quality over quantity! That’s why this UNIQUE private and exclusive 4 hours Street Photography tour has been designed for two people max (unless you'll book as a family or a group of friends). Walking through old neighborhoods, morning markets, Trastevere narrow streets, and old squares, you'll capture Roman life as it unfolds. You'll be shooting the eternal city waking up, old women opening windows to the new day, nuns and priests going to the Vatican City, street artists performing downtown, while artisans still handwork marble, wood or gold to create their beauties. Shooting all this, professionally guided by my experience and deep local knowledge of Rome, will make your street photography tour an unforgettable experience. Street photography is challenging, but if you enjoy putting your skills on the line to capture life in the making, this is one of the most rewarding tours you can have, the one that will make you really feel the essence of Rome! A free photo review can also be provided upon request. Why is this the best street photography workshop in Rome? Check our photos and reviews, and I guarantee you'll look no further.

    Phote walk tour in Rome!
Guilio, thank you so much for your expert knowledge and history in Rome. I have been taking pictures through my travels and thought I knew it all. Well, at least I thought so, but learned so much more through your coaching and vision. I Iearned more in depth camera settings and definitely wiser choices on composition that made me re-evaluate my picture taking. For those that either are starting or more advanced, it would be an honor to have a mentor like Guilio! Thanks my friend, be back soon!

Rich deep history and stunning ruins. The guide was engaging and informative, but the tour could’ve been slower-paced.

    Loved it!
What a wonderful tour! I'm a newbie to photography, but love to do photo tours when I'm in a new city. Giulio was patient, willing to share his knowledge and experience with me, and he took me to some beautiful churches in Rome. I had a delightful time with Giulio, he's very open and has quite the background - it was fascinating to learn and he was very open in sharing what incredible work he's done and what he's working on. He was happy to answer all my photography questions (and there was a lot!), as well as all my Rome ones. He's super knowledgeable and is willing to share. He knew what the 'great shots' in the churches were, but would also say for me to have a look around and see what stood out and to photograph those too. It made the tour a lot more personal. I'm so glad I chose a tour with Giulio and Rome Photo Fun Tours!

    Truly wonderful
Giulio knows exactly where to take you for the best photo opportunities in the city and the best time of day to be in specific places. He is so knowledgeable about the city and helped me to take some really amazing photos even though I was only using my iPhone 15 pro. He is an expert photographer who can assist you to take your photography skills to new heights. He is patient, friendly, lets you go at your own pace, and takes you from one amazing sight to another, what an outstanding experience.

    Wow, What an experience.
Thought I'd gone mad wanting to do an all night tour on arrival in Rome.(Best tour of our 4 weeks in Europe)  The history lessons and  uncrowded locations Giulio took me to were extraordinary. Tips and tricks to improve my photography skills, composure, lighting and so much more.  Learning from a master, watching Giulio capture some street art. Such a excellent night filled with laughter and photography. Highly recommend as the best photography tour I did in Europe. Thankyou so much. I hope your exhibition go well.

    A wonderful tour! Highly recommended
Our photography tour with Giulio was wonderful! The 4 hours flew past despite rather wet weather. Giulio took us to a variety of places in Central Rome, some iconic Roman sights, some lesser known spots. Giulio provided invaluable advice on shooting settings, angles and general advice on photography techniques. Whilst I usually rely on shooting in "p", Giulio helped me to use the manual settings, with very pleasing results. My husband accompanied us as a non photographer and was entertained throughout by Giulio's historic and social commentary en route. We hope to do another tour, either in Rome or further afield, with Giulio next year. Highly recommended.

If you like photography Guilio is your guy
I booked both the Rome by day and Rome by night tour with Giulio. Both are fantastic. Booking was easy. Giulio's web site lets you pick the date you are interested in and then once booked sends you a confirmation email. A few days before your tour Giulio provides an email with information on where to meet and asks questions about your photography skills, type of gear you will be bringing and what you are hoping to see. Giulio is very responsive, promptly replying to emails and even phone calls. Giulio knows Rome inside and out. The best part was in addition to photographing the well known parts, Coliseum, Pantheon he takes you to less famous but just as beautiful areas that are not crowded letting you take great photos. Giulio is a professional photographer that is able to impart knowledge and skills if that is what you are looking for. However, his focus is on your experience and is content to let you have your best moment as well. If you are looking for a guide to take you around Rome so that you can take great pictures Giulio and Rome Photo Fun Tours is a great value and worth your investment.

The BEST thing I did in Rome!
I spent 10 wonderful days in Rome seeing the ruins and museums and taking in the scene. I did a lot of fun things, but hands down, the BEST experience was the photo tour I took with Giulio. He met me promptly at the designated time and instantly put me at ease. He’s a smart, funny, affable guy who really knows his way around photography. From the beginning, he helped identify great shots and worked on composition with me. I used my iPhone 14 Pro Max and am thrilled with the results. I can tell a noticeable difference between the photos I took pre-tour from those during and after. But you’re not just getting expert photography help. Giulio was the best tour guide among the several I hired during my trip. His deep knowledge of all eras of Roman history will impress and enlighten you. And his easy conversational style, excellent English and sense of humor were the icing on the cake. I don’t usually gush in reviews, but I’m gushing now. Do yourself a favor and book one (or more!) of Giulio’s tours - it’s worth every euro and then some. You will not regret it!

Another amazing tour! This was my second tour with Giulio and he continued to impress me with his knowledge in photography and local history. He knows Rome so well, that we’re able to visit numerous churches and sites in just a single morning. This tour was an excellent value!

    An amazing tour!
What an amazing tour! Giulio was an excellent guide and provided a safe and informative tour. Not only does he teach you some finer tips in photography, but he is also a history buff and provides an interesting context to the sites you are visiting. In one night, we visited and photographed more sites then I could have done in a week on my own. An excellent value!

After two magnificent tours („Unique Rome Photo Tour from dusk to Dawn“ and „Rome, Churches, Angels & Art Photo Tour“) with Giulio I decided to book a third tour as I spent quite a long time in Rome. So I asked him for a suggestion and it was he „Rome by Day, Street Photography Tour“ he suggested. When I heard it I was at first asking myself - can I do it? Are my abilities good enough? Giulio was very motivating and could convince me to try it. And now I can say 100 % it was the right decision.
After each tour I was wondering if the next tour can be better or at least reach the same level tike the recent one. And YES, it is possible. As all my tours were so different it is difficult or even impossible to say which one was the best. Each single tour was on its own way much more than I expected - simply perfect.
So concerning this tour Giulio was again a perfect teacher, very patient, good in explaining even details and here especially motivating. He knows his hometown so well that he can show so many small gems, extraordinary places and knows stories about them so that not even a single question remained unanswered. Due to rain he suggested to postbone the tour for two hours which I gratefully accepted. Punctually we met at the time which we agreed on.
As I wrote already in my recent reviews I strongly recommend to book a tour (or more like me) with Giulio to everyone who is interested in Rome and in taking photos. You surely won‘t be disappointed and you can spend a couple of hours with a great person and teacher as well as with a great photographer. So to come to an end - Giulio, once again mille grazie!!!

It was an unforgettable experience which allowed us to discover a part of Rome differently while learning the basics of photography.
Thanks to these valuable tips, we took superb photos.
He is someone who is passionate and who adapts to our needs, in any case providing the most satisfactory response as possible.
These valuable tips help me improve my technique to take excellent shots or those close to them.
I highly recommend it.

Giulio was just fantastic. I wanted to maximize my short time in Rome and have someone to guide me through the key spots and some of the less known streets and locations. We spent 6hrs starting at 5am hitting a few popular sites to get clear shots without the crowds. We then walked the streets and was grateful to receive Giulio’s expert guidance on techniques to capture difficult street shots. He helped me fine tune my settings for multiple scenarios and opened my mind to a different attitude for my photography. Giulio is an expert photographer and it’s clear that he appreciates and studies the expression of people and life. You’ll only be rewarded for selecting Giulio as your guide if you’re visiting Rome, Tuscany, or other areas of Italy.

Dear Jamie, First of all, I hope you had a great Italian Easter, with all the yummy desserts that go with it. Secondly, but most importantly, thanks a lot for your terrific review. I am immensely grateful for the beautiful words you spent about my tour and me. They mean a lot to me... and I hope they will encourage others to book my photo tours. Speaking of which, as I told you during our walk, starting in September this year I will also begin offering multi-day tours, in Umbria, Tuscany, and Apulia, three amazing and very photogenic regions in the center and south Italy. Those will be fully customized holistic multiday photography tours including also photo review sessions, and a full-immersion experience in the Italian culture. In fact, we will have wine and food tastings, visits to vineyards, and extra visits to Italian Master Artisans. Such tours will be tailored around my customers' wishes, time availability, and budget. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to send you the different options and itineraries, that will be flexible and decided upon your own priorities. In the meantime, thanks again for your wonderful review, and best regards, Giulio

I highly recommend the private street photography tour with Giulio. He took me to some out of the way places as well as to the classic sights. Giulio is extremely personable and knowledgable about all things photography. Our 4 hours together passed very quickly and as well as showing me the best locations to photograph, he also showed me where to get the best coffee.

I booked the toor a few days before my visit to Rome. Guilio took his time to understand my needs and interests and recommended a version of the tour better suited for me.

The tour itself gave me an excuse to bring along my better (and much heavier) camera
which begged to be put to use.

We started early on on Saturday morning before the heat and tourist waves hit the streets. Giulio is an expert in a labyrinth of Rome streets and took me to places I would hardly go by myself, giving thoughtful advise and hints along the way. He has a 360-degrees view and notices people and things worth photographing. He was happy to move distractions and pretend to be a subject of photo shoot to give an excuse to shoot someone else, was helping to find the best spot for a rustic bike we found along the way, He also discussed a lot of details very useful in street photography.

Although we were walking 4 hours straight without rest we had a lot of energy left, so we extended the tour for another hour which gave me a chance to explore more of Rome. We even managed to get in a small private courtyard that even Giulio wasn't able to get into before!

Overall this was a great experience. I am used to photographing city streets, but doing this in a company of an expert street photography is just another experience - not only Giulio knew the city and shared his knowledge but he provided inspiration!

Dear Alex, Thanks a lot for your very beautiful, flattering and exhaustive review on our Rome by Day, Street Photography Tour and Workshop. Yes, we walked and photographed for five hours, with only a decent coffee break in the most famous coffee bar in Rome, where you could sip an energizer gran caffe' :-) , and yes, we did explore the always surprising magical iconic locations and hidden alleys of Rome.... but let me tell you something that I really want to share with you: if I guided you and I was of some inspiration to you , I must confess you were quite an inspiration to me as well. I could see and recognized your very personal approach to the people and places we encountered, and I was certainly intrigued by it. Along the way we showed each other the photos we were taking.... well, let me say that I kind of envied some perfect shots you took, capturing the essence of the very moment in its making. As I like to say "capturing life as it happens!".... a bliss to be the guide of such a creative photographer. Thanks Alex! Giulio

"It's the little things, the tiny details, the improbable awesomeness of every, little, damn, thing" -- Anthony Bourdain (on Rome)

We have been living and working in the great city of Rome for over two years but will be packing out soon. Our heavy hearts are trying to savor every last moment in the Eternal City. We stumbled upon Mr. Giulio D'Ercole's Rome Photo Fun Tours by happy accident and immediately signed up for his Street Photography Tour. I have a decent beginner's camera but I have always felt self-conscious about taking photos of street life so it has essentially been gathering dust. Giulio coaxed me out of my apprehension almost immediately!

We started early in order to capture Roman citizens beginning their day in the warm light of this magnificent city. Every corner revealed a magical element that we seemed to have completely missed during our time here. Giulio is a master photographer with both an artist's and a cinematographer's eye. He is also a proud Roman citizen and possesses a deep appreciation for the city and its history. We learned so much about photography AND history during our 4 hour session.

Do not hesitate to sign up for one of Giulio's tours -- he keeps the group number extremely small. The tour was pure value for money in a city often short on quality bargains! I only wished I would have taken this tour two years ago when we first arrived! You will finish your tour spent (we logged in over 10,000 steps), satisfied, and full of memories (and photos! Take a look at few of mine below!)

Sincerely,

Michael and Dora

..... wow!!!! Michael, I am speechless!!! Thanks a lot for this beautiful, long, exhaustive, comprehensive and very flattering review you wrote for me! It makes me feel proud not only of what I do, but also, and even more, it gives me confidence in the way I do it: putting passion, professionalism and love for the art of photography, for my beloved Rome and, last not least at all, for my clients and their satisfaction, which is always my number one priority. I am glad that during this four hours hands-on walking workshop you could understand better the full potentials of your camera and that, seeing the photos you shot, you could already improve your skills as a photographer. Being both well traveled people, for leisure or work, we do know, we can travel a lot around the world, but we cannot always take with us our material possessions . Though what we can always have at hand, wherever we are, is our knowledge, our skills, our education.... so I am positive that from now on wherever you will go in the future, you will have more confidence in your photography ability to capture the great marvels and the beautiful little details you will meet along your trips. Best regards to you and your lovely wife Dora, Giulio

This tour was fantastic for many reasons. It satisfied everyone’s needs! Everyone in your group doesn’t have to be a photographer, this tour offers something for everyone! Giulio is an amazing photographer who was so very helpful in providing useful photography tips. He also took several photos of our family so now we have more then just selfies! Giulio is a wealth of information. He took us to several locations and beautiful neighborhoods. He provided us with a lot of Roman history along the way! He also selected a wonderful restaurant where the locals eat! The tour was superb. It’s a great way to see Roma with a local!

Dear Cook family ... by the way you phrased your review I guess it' was written and shared by all of you, I am truly happy that you enjoyed the tour through the eternal city with me. And I am even happier that I could not only share what I know about photography with those of you that are into this amazing art but also entertain the others with interesting information about Rome's life and past. Be assured that taking photos of such a beautiful family was a true pleasure for me and I hope the smiles I captured with my shots, will be cherished and kept forever. FYI and if you will ever come back to Rome, please note that I also run Rome by night photo tours and workshops and from next spring I will also offer multiday tours in Tuscany, tailored on clients' needs and time availability. Best regards and Merry Christmas, Giulio

A wonderful photo walk with Giulio D'Ercole. Thank you Guilio for this experience and those perfect inscriptions in the streets of Rom.
