    Forum guide was great
Overall we really enjoyed this tour. Our guide for the Roman forum was great really knowledgeable and his explanations were really clear and explained in a manner that was accessible to the layman. It was great to see the Colosseum but the guide unfortunately came across as bored and unenthusiast. Would reccomend but be prepared that your guide in the Colosseum may not be as inspiring as your surroundings.

Alex from NY - excellent tour of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum
The first half of our tour was the Colosseum including the underground portion, and while the tour guide was OK I think she may have been new because there was a second guide shadowing and they would confer periodically after our guide had covered a topic or specific area of the Colosseum. But our 2nd guide, Alex from New York, who provided us with a tour of the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, was excellent. He was very knowledgable and clearly enthusiastic during the tour, maintaining a steady narration as we first covered the hill and then moved into the Forum. He even ran a little long rather than just stop at the end of our 90 minutes, and he even guided us back to a location where we could grab a cab without having the pay for the flag drop from wherever the cab was until he picked us up at the museum – very nice of him to do so. If you’re going to tour Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, you can’t do much better than Alex – highly recommended.

    Vip tour
We had early access to the Vatican. Our tour guide guided us straight to the Sistine Chapel and we were the first people to visit that day. She made the most of her time and brought photos so she could talk about parts of the chapel before it opened. She had a wealth of knowledge and appeared to be known by Vatican staff and other tour guides. We enjoyed our tour.

    Iformative but poorly organised
This was a potentionally excellent tour diminushed by poor organisation and technology. Our guide knew her stuff and was pleasant, but we started the tour late and then sat around midway for 20 minutes while our guide went looking for two people who just wandered off on their own. So we finished over 30 minutes late. Our time in Rome is precious, don't waste it. The radio set didn't work very well either. Look for another operator of what should have been a great tour

    Interesting
Our guide was very informative, she is an archeologist. She answered all our questions. The Palatine hill tour went too fast, you could tell he was tired of his job.

Love the Forum and Palatine Hill
This is our fourth trip to Rome. We hooked up with the tour because we were interested in the inside history and details. The tour guide was great. The description of the tour said it was supposed to be two 45 minute tours of each of the areas, but it was only an hour. We were a bit disappointed that the guide didn’t take us down to the lower forum, but ended the tour at the exit half way down. It seems that maybe the tour path should be updated? We went on our own for another hour, checked out the lower forum, and also discovered an amazing area around the back of the palatine hill, showing all the different layers. The history of that would have been great.

Great Colosseum tour, not so for Forum
This is a fairly long tour, so be prepared. Our guide for the Colosseum portion was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and organized. It's definitely worth going to the underground section. For the Forum tour, there seemed to be a lot of confusion as to who was supposed to do the tour. After quite some time, the guide finally showed up and off we went. Although the guide was very nice and knew his stuff, he spent a lot of time explaining things and not showing us much. We spend most of the time on the Palantine Hill and not in the Forum. Basically, after the tour was done, you had time to walk through the Forum on your own. Do not book this trip in the afternoon because by the time it ends, you won't have enough time to walk through the Forum.

    Worth it
Most of the tour guides you find clearly have a strong italian accent...duh. however, scored big when Alex turned out to be our tour guide. Alex is originally from NY. Not only could I follow along with what he was saying but he was super knowledgeable. He gave fun facts, he was funny and answered all of my silly questions. He even gave solid recommendations of other places to go as well to have dinner (solid choices btw). He actually went over by 30min so we weren't rushed. Great experience I wish Alex could have given all of the tours.

    Worth it
We loved this tour! Our tour guide was Paul who was great. He kept the tour interesting and moving to see every thing the entire time. The skip the line aspect is HUGE and definitely worth it on any of these tours. Bring your water bottle which was needed with being out in the sun for 3 hours! Also, I saw previous reviews mention it but our tour time was pushed back so if you do chose this one consider that possibility when planning other events for the day you book this tour and check your email up until the day is it scheduled.

    Worth the money
The tour of the colosseum is worth the money of guided tour. The colosseum tour was provided directly by an archeologist and was very detailed and interesting. Rest of the tour was managed by “Explore Italy Tours” which included Roman Forum. The tour guide (Alex) was very friendly and knowledgeable, however, the time wasn’t enough to explore all the relics. We had 4pm slot and hence didn’t have much time to explore the Roman Forum after the tour as they close the area by 6:30pm. Recommend to book slightly earlier to have enough time on hand after the tour for personal exploration.

Fantastic Tour of Colosseum and Roman Forum
We had a wonderful afternoon soaking up the history of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Everything ran on time, there was no excessive waiting around. The first part of the tour provided insight into the mechanics and history that made the Arena and Underground areas come to life. Our guide was an archaeologist who kept the group of 20 or so expertly hanging on to her every word. Exiting the Colosseum we met with our next tour guide, Santos, who would walk with us through the Roman Forum. It was our family of 4 and another couple, so great to do this in a very small group. Santos was very passionate about the history of Rome, after our time with him much that was rather confusing to both us, and our children (age 11 and 9) became clear. He maintained a manageable pace and stopped at key points providing explanations and overviews of the amazing sites and buildings. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
